Work Text:
Water floods through her gills in quick bursts as Sheena rushes through the corridor. She doesn't want to attract a predator with the tuna bundled in her pocket—with how weak her magic is, she wouldn't survive. Sheena stops when she spots a light in the hallway. "Hello?" she calls, thinking it must be another student.
The scent of blood fills her lungs as a shadowy figure drifts closer. Sheena's heartbeat echoes in her ears. Whatever this is is a much larger threat than she can handle. Run! But her muscles are looked and she can't move.
"Can I have that?" the figure asks pointing to Sheena's tuna. Their voice is higher and more childlike than she would have thought.
Now that Sheena can see them properly in moonlight she can tell their an angler mer, smaller than she thought. "Sure," she squeaks holding out one of the bundles.
The girl plops down beside her before scarfing down the offered food. Her teeth are long, sharp and in a close rows. It looks like blood sticks to them. "The other one!" she says once she finishes.
"O-okay." Sheena hands it over and watches as she scarfs down this one with just as much vigor.
When the girl finishes she spots the bandage on Sheena's cheek. "You're hurt," she says.
Sheena brushes her hand against it "It's just a scratch."
The girl presses a kiss against it letting Sheena feel the warmth of her magic before Nurse Fran steals her away.
