The crowd in Atlanta roared as Finn stepped onto the stage, the energy of the night pulsing through him like an electric current. The tour had been a whirlwind, each city blending into the next, but tonight—October 6th—felt different. Atlanta had always been special, though he’d never told anyone why.
Finn had a ritual at every show. During the encore, he’d lean into the mic, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper as he shared a secret with his bandmate, Ramsey. Little things—the time he’d gotten food poisoning in NYC, the fan who’d given him a hand-drawn comic in Chicago, the weird motel they’d stayed at in Detroit. Harmless, funny, the kind of thing that made Ramsey roll his eyes and the crowd laugh.
But tonight, Finn didn’t smile as he adjusted the mic stand. The lights dimmed, the crowd’s cheers fading into a hush as he gripped the mic tighter.
“I’ve been sharing secrets with Ramsey at every show,” Finn said, his voice carrying through the arena. “Stupid ones, mostly. But tonight…” He paused, his fingers tightening around the mic. “Tonight, I realize I’ve never actually shared the real secret. The one that matters.”
The crowd erupted into a mix of laughter and curious murmurs, thinking it was another joke. But Finn’s gaze was steady, serious. He glanced at Ramsey, who raised an eyebrow but didn’t interrupt.
“See, this place—Atlanta—it’s special to me,” Finn continued, his voice softer now, almost intimate. “Because this is where everything started. Not just the tour. Not just the music. Everything.” He took a deep breath. “And I think… I think it’s time you all met the reason why.”
The crowd fell silent, the anticipation thick in the air. Finn turned slightly, his eyes scanning the side of the stage where the crew and guests stood. And then he smiled—a real, unguarded smile, the kind Noah had only seen a handful of times.
“Noah?” Finn’s voice was gentle, almost a question. “C’mere.”
Noah stepped out from the shadows, his hands shoved deep in his pockets, his face flushed under the stage lights. He looked nervous, his eyes darting between Finn and the sea of faces in the crowd. But when Finn held out his hand, Noah didn’t hesitate. He walked forward, his steps sure, and took Finn’s hand, their fingers intertwining naturally, like they’d done it a thousand times before.
The crowd lost it. Screams, cheers, the sound of phones snapping photos—it was deafening. But Finn didn’t flinch. He just pulled Noah closer, their shoulders pressing together, and looked out at the audience with a grin.
“This is Noah,” Finn said, his voice steady despite the chaos. “And, uh… he’s the reason I’ve been smiling like an idiot for the past two years.”
Noah laughed softly, ducking his head a little as the crowd’s cheers grew louder. Finn squeezed his hand, then, without warning, leaned in and pressed a quick, soft kiss to Noah’s temple. The crowd exploded. Noah’s face turned an even deeper shade of red, but he didn’t pull away. Instead, he leaned into Finn, his smile shy but bright.
Finn chuckled, pulling back just enough to look at Noah. “You good?”
Noah nodded, his voice barely audible over the noise. “Yeah.”
Finn’s grin turned mischievous. “You sure? ‘Cause I can make it official if you want.”
Noah’s eyes widened, and he swatted Finn’s arm lightly, but he was laughing. “Finn, shut up.”
Finn just winked, then turned back to the mic. “Alright, alright. Let’s give ‘em a show, yeah?”
The band kicked back into the final song of the night, the music swallowing the rest of their conversation. But as they played, Finn didn’t let go of Noah’s hand. Not once. And when the song ended, and the confetti cannons burst overhead, Finn pulled Noah into a real kiss—right there, in front of everyone.
The crowd went wild.
Noah melted into it, his hands gripping Finn’s jacket as the noise of the arena faded into the background. When they finally pulled apart, Finn rested his forehead against Noah’s, both of them breathing heavily, grinning like fools.
“Told you it was special here,” Finn murmured, just for Noah.
Noah rolled his eyes, but his smile didn’t fade. “You’re impossible.”
Finn kissed him again, quick and sweet. “And you love me.”
Noah didn’t argue. Because he did. And as the crowd’s cheers washed over them, as the lights danced and the music played, Noah realized something: he didn’t care who knew. Not when Finn was looking at him like this.
