When the Prince was told to patrol a bit further from his usual patrol location because of suspicious sightings that could be building up to a potential villain attack he didn't think much of it, that was until he wasn't attacked by a ghostly wolf, it jumped out of ground without warning and tried biting the Prince, but thanks to the Prince's amazing reaction time and reflexes he dodged it flawlessly.
“Where's your owner puppy?” the Prince wondered, he quickly scanned the area but found no one who might be controlling the beast. The power is either hallucination power or ghost puppet, hallucination power would require the user to be nearby while a ghost puppet can think on its own if given an order, ironically to the puppet name.
The wolf growled, it leaped at him again, the Prince dodged again and this time grabbed the wolf’s fur on the back of its neck. The wolf didn't disappear so it was not an illusion, he needed to be careful fighting with it then. He lifted the wolf and threw it against the side of a building, it passed through and disappered…he didn't think that through, now it could be anywhere.
He scanned the area again, he didn't find the wolf but he did see someone recording him, that wasn't unusual but he did recognize his hoodie. He flipped the emo off who flipped him back. Why can't he leave the Prince alone? Stalker freak.
The wolf took the opportunity of his distraction, it jumped out of the ground behind him and jumped on his back, the hero yelped, he started spinning around to get it off, he heard the blogger laughing, great, just what he needed.
He felt the sharp teeths of the ghostly wolf in his shoulder, he yelled as white hot pain ran across his body, or more like cold pain because damn this beast’s mouth was cold!
He grabbed the wolf and tried to yank it off. It growled and didn't let go. So instead he forced open its mouth and threw it off, he grabbed the wound in pain. The wolf disappeared again. He tried not focusing on the fact that the hero spotter probably got all that on camera.
It hopped out of the ground next to a street light, it bit into it and tore it out of the ground. Okay who gave the ghost mutt super strength? This is just pure show off at this point.
It wound back and swung at him, he ducked under it, before he could get back his momentum it was swinging at him again and got him square in the chest, sending him flying. He landed next to Virgil.
“Wow dude, really embarrassing." The emo smirked at him.
“Oh shut it Gerard Gay! How should I have known the thing has super strength! I was caught off guard, give me some slack!”
Virgil hummed. “No I don't think I will.”
the Prince snared at him. He looked up to see what the wolf was doing, it wound back and swung towards them, letting go of the lamp and sending it spinning towards the two men.
the Prince immediately got to his feet and caught the street lamp, it barely missed the emo who somehow became paler. “Go to safety already!” the Prince told him. The dark haired man nodded and ran off.
About two hours and a long tiring fight later the beast disappeared. Turns out the villain it belonged to was the other side of the city causing chaos and robbed a few banks, they really struggled to catch her and she turned out to be more dangerous than expected, just like her wolf.
the Prince took a deep breath, he walked along the wall of a building and sat down in an alley hoping to not be seen by the public until someone came to pick him up.
That will take a while, the villain did a lot of damage so that is taking up all their attention. The Prince winced and put a hand on his shoulder that the ghost bit earlier, it wasn't bleeding anymore but it still was nasty looking.
“Man, that doesn't look good.”
The Prince eyes shot up at whoever was talking, Virgil was only a few feet away from him. How did he not notice him sooner? Thank fuck he wasn't a dangerous villain or else this could have been the mess up of the century. “Oh please this is barely anything. If you came to mock me and post me on your stupid blog, at least not make your presents clear so I don't need to think about it but nooo.”
“Alright, rude. First of all, it's not stupid, if you guys could be trusted with the amount of power you guys have over this city I shouldn't need to do this. Second, I didn't came to mock you.”
The Prince raised a suspicious eyebrow. “Okay, then why are you here?”
“I wanted to thank you for saving me, for once in your career you did something useful.”
“Okay, ow, I thought you said you won't mock me?”
“I won't mock your current state, I didn't say I won't do my job of criticising everything you heroes do.”
The Prince rolled his eyes. “You're welcome, if that is the only thing you wanted to say you can leave. My team will be here soon.”
“Soon? They're not here yet? The fight ended 15 minutes ago, usually they're here by now.”
“Yeah well I'm not hurt enough for them to be the top priority, this creature was a distraction to a dangerous villain to cause chaos on the other side of city so I need to wait for them to clean up the mess there and then wait some more for them to send me help who’ll patch me up.”
Virgil clicked his tongue. “Well that won't do, come with me.”
“And why would I do that?”
“Would you rather sit in pain and wounded a bit more and do nothing?”
“…”
“That's what I thought too, come I live nearby I have a first aid kit we'll patch you up.”
“You would really do that for me?”
“I need to repay my debt somehow, can't owe a hero.”
Virgil helped the Prince up and they walked to his apartment.
Virgil opened the door to the prince to walk in, he never expected a hero to walk in his apartment let alone for him to invite one in with his own free will.
“Sit down on the couch, I'll bring the first aid kit.” Virgil told him.
Virgil took off his hoodie and rolled up his sleeves. He carefully patched up the hero, though not perfect, he wasn't a doctor.
”Done. How do you feel?” Virgil asked.
”Much better, thank you.”
”Don't mention it. Now you can freely go back to your hero base or whatever.”
The Prince nodded. “I was expecting your house to be more haunted house looking, but it actually looks pretty average.”
”I help you and you insult me like that?”
”Oh no wait I didn't mean to!-”
Virgil laughed. “Nah you're fine I'm just messing with you.”
The Prince chuckled and stood up. “Well, I'll go now, see you again when you're in stalker mode.”
Virgil huffed. ”I'm not a stalker.” He grabbed his hoodie. “I'll lead you out.”
The two talked on the whole way out, Virgil was so distracted he didn't notice a bird getting close to him only when it snatched his hoodie out his hands. “Hey!”
It flew on top of a tree. “Don't worry Hot Topic, I'll get it back for you!”
”Aw you think I'm hot.” Virgil teased.
The Prince blushed and was already climbing the tree. “Shut up.”
”If you get hurt I won't patch you up again.”
The Prince wasn't listening as he grabbed the hoodie, the bird screamed and scratched him. Roman almost lost his balance but managed to jank the hoodie out of the bird’s beak.
The bird flew away and the Prince jumped down. “Here you go My Chemically Imbalanced Romance.”
Virgil rolled his eyes. “Thanks my hero.” He said sarcastically and kissed his cheek making Roman blush. “It seems like I owe you again so I might as well patch you up again pretty boy.
”Let me invite you to a meal after that.”
Virgil smiled. “It's a date then.”
