Weak Flowers

Summary:

Flowers are usually useless inanimate objects with no will to do anything whatsoever. Except when injected with determination of course!

(And dark fountains but that’s the other game)

So that’s why Flowery gets isekaied to Undertale and wakes up as one of the determination flowers in the true lab. Makes perfect sense! (he doesn’t know this yet though nor any of the other characters but lets not worry about that.)

Notes:

(See the end of the work for notes.)

Chapter 1: prologue

Chapter Text

“Maybe in another life, we could have… been friends…”

His eyes started fluttering closed involuntarily as the pain in his abdomen slowly crawled to a dull pang. Darkness surrounded him and he felt himself turning back to a flower.. a helpless flower that couldn’t do anything. Everyone’s faces were seared into his mind, faces caused by his helplessness.

Kris… well, he hoped Kris was at least sad somewhere, even if not for him, but for their Dad. Even though they’d changed, he’d hoped their blank expression wasn’t all they had, that they still had a dream to hold onto.

Susie… kind-hearted Susie… her face was so twisted in anger… like she got a bad chunk in her RootBeer… He was getting off track. But her care for everyone and everything.. He wished she was anywhere but here seeing him like this. On her date, giving that reindeer girl the violets she picked out, living her dream.

And Raly.. oh poor Raly. This was even more embarrassing than Susie. His face was scrunched up, close to tears, probably because of how ridiculous he had looked. For all his big talk, he really was pathetic then. Rambling on about how he was just a flower… he’s such a hypocrite. But, the way Raly reassured him…  he’s glad he figured it out a little in the end at least. Just sad he couldn't tease him, but he had to go out dramatic and sappy didn’t he? Of course he did! He.. he hoped he’d live his life how he wanted… be his own person. Live his dream.

All of them. Even all the other flowers. He was glad they all got to live their dream and not worry about him. A pathetic flower who couldn’t even make one person happy. Couldn’t even live his own dream. Couldn’t even have his own dream in the end. Could he…?

His last thoughts tapered off into nothingness.

Flowers don’t have thoughts afterall.

How sad.

It doesn’t see nothingness.

It sees darkness.

Why can it still realise that?

Why does it still have thoughts?

It still remembers.

It had friends. It had hopes and dreams. It had something. It felt something. Even if just for one day.

It remembered a body torn in half but a body nonetheless. A body it imagined itself. It’s golden hair, pale yellow skin, closed eyes pulled up by its smirk. It’s puffy sleeves, stylish vest and pants, brogue shoes.

It realised how much it wanted to feel again.

It wanted to feel. It needed to feel. It was a phantom feeling but it almost felt like it could morph the darkness around them. Make themself again. It grasped onto this feeling. It pushed and pushed. It felt fingers almost form from arms, from body, from soul.

It was selfish. It wanted to be itself again. It was greedy. It wanted to be more than a flower.

It had a dream.

And it was determined.

And then everything burst into light. A memory resurfaced of a red soul moving towards a pillar of darkness.

And then.

He woke up.
