It was by complete accident that Kurode found out Willmesh was a little ticklish. Willmesh wasn't intending on revealing this fact but he felt it was only fair after discovering how sensitive Kurode's sides were when grabbed. During one of the knight trainees’ magic training, a stray spell would have hit Kurode if Willmesh didn't pull him aside. The taller knight didn't mean to grab the shorter by the waist or to pull him in so close but the startled sound he made was so cute it made his heart skip a beat. He was tempted to keep Kurode close in his arms.
“That was good power, just work on your control now!”
But of course Kurode was oblivious to the mental disaster he unintentionally caused as he praised the trainee from Willmesh's arms. The squire grinned up at him as he relaxed further into the quiet knight's hold.
“Thanks for the save, Willmesh.”
Willmesh felt a small smile grow as he nodded in acknowledgement. Bandaged hands briefly ran up under the cropped jacket to make sure he wasn't grazed by the spell. His hands paused, one on Kurode's back and the other still holding his side, when he heard a small squeak and painted nails gripped his arms.
“Are you okay?” Lavender eyes filled with concern looked down.
“I'm fine but it's a little ticklish with your hands there.” There was a slight flush to pale cheeks that made Willmesh feel conflicted as he lowered his hands. Kurode was very cute when flustered.
“Really? Kurode-kun doesn't give off the impression that you're ticklish too.” Magenta eyes widened in surprise at the unexpected information.
“‘Too’? You have tickle spots? Wasn't expecting that.” Willmesh felt his heart stutter when the dark-haired squire leaned in closer and grinned wider as he said that. He felt his gaze dart away from the eye contact in embarrassment. At their current distance, it would be easy to lean in and kiss Kurode's forehead.
“Hey now, we know you two started dating and all but keep the flirting to a minimum, yeah? Some of us are trying to train!” Randall had shouted from nearby causing the two to flush and jump apart.
“What!? W-when did you guys find out?!”
The group of trainees looked at each other before they all started to cackle. “From the beginning!” someone had shouted amongst the laughter. Willmesh buried his face in his scarf and pulled his hood lower in embarrassment while Kurode struggled to get them all back on track.
That short incident led to his current situation. Now his boyfriend seemed determined to find all his tickle spots. And since their relationship was already found out, they didn’t need to worry about being secretive. Which meant Kurode was very bold. Throughout the day, Kurode had been attempting to tickle him with only one success out of many attempts. Willmesh took the most offense with that attempt when Kurode had poked his side while he was happily pouring maple syrup over his lunch after the knights’ morning training session.
“I just wanted to make sure you weren't saying you were ticklish to make me feel better,” Kurode had said after apologizing for making him spill his beloved maple syrup onto the table.
Willmesh would deny pouting long enough to make his boyfriend feel guilty but as an apology, Kurode had let him pour maple syrup onto his dessert.
After the lunch incident, Willmesh had been on his guard for the rest of the day. Whether it was in the castle or out in town, if Kurode saw a chance to try, he would take it. The pink-haired knight couldn’t remember the last time he was this exhausted. The only time Willmesh got a break was when he was in the office doing paperwork. During that time the purple-haired squire was either running errands or sitting a safe distance away at the desk across from him. His moment of peace lasted until late afternoon, as the sun was starting to set and it was almost dinnertime.
“Willmesh, could you check this for me? I'm not sure if there's anything missing.”
The carpet muffled the moving stool from the desk across and the footsteps that made their way to his side. The paper Kurode held out to him was an updated training menu. He could tell it was a new menu with a lot of thought and consideration put into it just from a quick glance.
Whilst looking over the document, nothing seemed to be amiss. Although Kurode's handwriting was difficult to read at times, Willmesh has seen it enough times to be able to decipher the words quickly enough most of the time. But there were still moments when it was illegible chicken scratch to him.
“Everything looks good.” Willmesh felt a hand trying to sneak under his scarf and frowned.
“Kurode-kun…” Setting the paper down onto the desk and grabbing the offending hand with a sigh, he looked up to see an innocently tilted head. Upon making eye contact, a cheeky smile grew on his face. Checking the new training menu was just an excuse to be near and distract him. It was another failed tickle attempt but that didn't seem to stop Kurode from trying to get him to laugh. As cute as the cheeky smiles were, Willmesh wasn't sure how he felt being roped into this game.
Maybe it was time for a small revenge. His boyfriend was always teasing him whether intentionally or not, sometimes Willmesh felt like he should tease him back.
“If you're trying to tickle someone, shouldn't you be prepared to be tickled back?”
Kurode was unaware of the dangerous glint in lavender eyes. The hand that was still holding his pulled him forward into Willmesh's lap. The purple Kuromi-shaped chair his boyfriend sat in had low arms so there was nothing in the way to stop him from being manhandled.
“Huh?! W-wait-” Kurode struggled as he was sat sideways with his legs across light purple overalls, both hands grasping the soft pink coat.
The hand that pulled him forward let go to secure him in place. Kurode could feel his heart start to race as he tried to hold back a gasp. The feeling of a bandaged hand firmly gripping his hip sent shivers down his back.
“I'm not waiting.” Willmesh let a playful smile spread on his face before he feathered long fingers over a defenseless side.
Kurode had roughly two seconds to admire the pretty smile until he registered the light touches dancing along his side. He tensed and tried kicking his legs to gain enough momentum to break free from the hold all while letting out the cutest giggles Willmesh was fortunate enough to hear. It almost made him wonder what other sounds he could pull from the petite knight-in-training squealing in his lap.
“No-not that spot!!”
“It's very easy to make Kurode-kun laugh.”
“Th-that's because…you're touching there!”
Kurode had managed to gasp out a short response in between giggles that made Willmesh breathe out a short laugh. His boyfriend was too cute like this, squirming in his lap trying to run away from the feather-light touches along his waist and stomach while inevitably ending up clinging desperately to the coat in his grasp with his face buried in Willmesh's shoulder struggling to breathe. This was dangerously fun.
“But I'm barely doing anything?”
“N-no…! You-you're doing that…with your fingers!”
“I'll stop if you don't like it?”
He might have gone too far judging by the little hiccups and soft whines so Willmesh gave his boyfriend a few moments to catch his breath. The heavy breathing by his ear slowly subsided. He heard Kurode take a breath before pulling away from his shoulder to shyly gaze into lavender eyes.
“If it's Willmesh then…I don't…hate anything you do to me…”
Those were dangerous words. Probably the most dangerous ones he's heard within the past few minutes. Paired with Kurode’s flushed cheeks, teary eyes, and disheveled clothes, Willmesh had to take a deep breath to calm himself. One of them had to keep it together, lest they progress too quickly in their relationship. They still didn't have their first kiss yet. It's been less than a month since they started dating and Willmesh wanted to take things slowly. Kurode deserved to be loved and cherished like he was the most important thing in the world after all.
“So, it's my win?”
Kurode pouted. The competitive side of him clearly didn't want to yield so easily in the game of ‘make Willmesh laugh through tickles’ that he started one-sidedly.
“You don't play fair.”
“Kurode-kun was the one who started it.”
He was still holding a slight grudge over the lunch incident and Kurode couldn’t help but find it a little cute.
“I just wanted to see what you look like when you laugh. I like when you smile, it's pretty. But it's a shame that you hide it under your hood.”
How was Kurode able to say such bold things with a straight face? The knight felt his heart swell with adoration, he was feeling a little bold as well as he cupped a flushed cheek with one hand. Willmesh really wanted to kiss him. He had to resist the urge to pin his beloved onto the table and shower him in kisses. To find out if Kurode's lips were as soft as they looked or if he would blush prettily for him. It was hard to resist, knowing that Kurode wouldn't mind if he did that. But Willmesh didn't know if he could handle the embarrassment if they were caught in that position.
“Then…I'll smile more if you let me kiss you?”
“Really?! Then…”
Willmesh was caught off guard when he felt Kurode shift in his lap. Attempting to adjust his hold on slim legs and a small waist, he froze when he felt a gentle warm pressure on his cheek that left as quickly as it came.
“Does it count if it's from me?”
Eh?
Was that…a kiss on his cheek? If his hands weren't occupied with making sure his boyfriend didn't fall out of his lap he would have tried to feel the skin. The lingering warmth only confirmed it. Right when he thought he had the upper hand, Kurode managed to surprise him once again. Lavender eyes stared dumbfounded at the petite face that was tilted in confusion at the lack of response. The urge to plant kisses all over that flushed skin came back tenfold. Mouth ajar, the pink knight snapped out of his stupor when he felt the grip on his coat slacken and he heard a nervous whisper.
“Was that not good? You're not smiling…”
“Wait Kurode-kun. That's not it.”
Willmesh panicked when he saw the disappointment on his face and held Kurode closer, burying his face into the dark jacket. He felt the other tense. Willmesh didn’t want Kurode to think that he disliked the kiss from him. Quite the opposite, really. He had to properly convey his feelings to stop any misunderstandings.
“I didn’t think Kurode-kun would kiss me first so it surprised me.”
The younger knight relaxed his grip to look into teary magenta eyes with a soft smile. He felt the surprised intake of air more than he heard it.
“It made me happy.”
Willmesh lifted a hand to wipe away the tears that were building up in those gentle pink eyes. He let his hand linger on the side of his face and felt his heartbeat pick up when Kurode unconsciously leaned in to the touch. Seeing how patiently the older boy was waiting for him to convey his feelings made it harder to resist.
“But it would make me happier if you kissed me here instead.”
Not wanting to wait any longer, Willmesh leaned down to seal their lips together in a kiss, muffling the surprised sound from Kurode. It was surprisingly soft, Kurode's lips were softer than he was expecting. The quiet knight pressed closer, a little firmer, earning another muffled groan.
When he finally pulled away, slightly breathless due to lack of air, he heard a soft whine and looked down to the source. He was met with an expression asking for more. Lips parted, cheeks flushed, and half-lidded eyes staring up at him in a daze, it was a somewhat similar expression to earlier when Willmesh won their tickle fight yet completely different. The sight made Willmesh's chest feel warm and tingly.
Actually, maybe it wasn’t just his chest that was tingling now that he had a moment to breathe. Down there wasn't doing so well. While Kurode was surprisingly light, he had been sitting in Willmesh's lap for a while.
“Kurode-kun…”
“Y-yeah?”
“I can't feel my legs.”
