💔 To Love You Was to Lose You💔
"I never hated you, Gray."
Her voice was barely a whisper.
Fragile.
As though speaking any louder would shatter what little remained of her.
"And that's the cruelest part."
A tear slipped down her cheek.
She didn't wipe it away.
"I still love you."
🥀Juvia🥀
She never noticed the decorations first.
She noticed him.
Standing among the crowd, dressed in clothes that belonged to a man about to begin a new chapter of his life.
He looked calm.
Too calm.
For one fragile moment...
She wished he would look at her.
Just once.
That he would do something—anything—that would prove the years she had spent loving him hadn't been nothing but a beautiful illusion.
As though fate had taken pity on her...
He lifted his head.
Their eyes met.
Time stopped.
There was no joy in his eyes.
No excitement.
Not the look of a man about to announce his engagement.
There was something far more terrifying.
Love.
A love buried so deep it had nearly suffocated itself.
A love screaming behind lips that had never once found the courage to speak.
For a heartbeat...
She almost ran to him.
Almost asked the question that had haunted her for years.
"If you look at me like that... then why?"
Why let me go?
Why let me believe I was never enough?
But she didn't.
She was tired.
Tired of asking questions that only silence ever answered.
So she smiled.
A small, trembling smile.
The kind people wear when they're saying goodbye to the last dream they ever allowed themselves to have.
And Gray saw it.
He saw her break.
Not the way a heart breaks after one terrible night...
But the way a soul breaks after spending years building a home inside someone who never opened the door.
Her eyes spoke the words she no longer had the strength to say.
I waited for you until there was nothing left of me.
If you had chosen me... just once... I would have stayed.
But I don't have anything left to fight with anymore.
His own eyes whispered only one thing.
I'm sorry.
Not because he had never loved her...
But because he had loved her in the cruelest way imaginable.
In silence.
His fingers twitched.
He took half a step toward her...
Then stopped.
Just like always.
He always stopped.
And just like always...
She was the one left to bear the consequences.
Juvia lowered her gaze.
Drew in one long, shaking breath, as if trying to gather the shattered remains of her heart before they scattered forever.
Then, in a voice too soft for anyone to hear...
She whispered,
"May God judge you, Gray..."
It wasn't a curse.
It wasn't hatred.
It was the final confession of a woman whose heart had been broken by the only man it had ever belonged to.
She turned away.
She walked.
She didn't run.
She didn't cry.
She didn't look back.
Because she knew...
If she looked at him one last time—
she would go back to him.
No matter the cost.
Gray never moved.
He simply stood there...
Watching her disappear into the sea of people.
And for the first time in his life...
He realized the greatest betrayal he had ever committed...
Wasn't standing beside another woman.
It was letting the only woman he had ever loved...
Walk away believing...
He had never loved her at all.
💔💔💔
💔Gray💔
He had convinced himself that agreeing to this engagement would be the hardest thing he would ever have to do.
Then he saw her.
She stood quietly near the entrance, wrapped in soft shades of blue.
As though she had come to congratulate him...
When in truth, she had come to bury the last piece of her heart.
Everything around him disappeared.
The music.
The laughter.
The endless voices filling the room.
None of it existed anymore.
There was only her.
Juvia.
His heart lurched so violently that, for one terrifying second.
He wondered if the curse could hear it.
Every morning he had sworn his love for her couldn't possibly grow any deeper.
Every night he proved himself wrong.
It only became worse.
Stronger.
More unbearable.
The farther he forced himself away from her...
The more completely she consumed him.
Until loving her no longer felt like an emotion.
It felt like breathing.
"Don't look at me..."
He begged silently.
"Please... hate me."
"Despise me."
"Walk away believing I'm the villain."
"Anything... as long as you live."
But then she lifted her eyes.
And he looked back.
He had never been strong enough to deny himself that much.
The moment their gazes locked...
He wished, for the first time in years...
That the curse had chosen to kill him instead.
Because what he saw inside her eyes wasn't anger.
It wasn't resentment.
It wasn't even heartbreak.
It was surrender.
The kind that only comes after hope has died a slow, merciless death.
She truly believed...
He had never loved her.
His fingers trembled.
How many times had he imagined crossing the distance between them?
Pulling her into his arms.
Inhalling her soft lilie hair .
Finally whispering the words that had lived inside him for years.
"I love you."
Just three words.
Three simple words.
Yet they weighed more than his entire life.
Because another voice still echoed inside his mind.
Cold.
Patient.
Unforgiving.
"The moment you confess your love to the one you treasure most... death will claim her."
Deliora's laughter had never left him.
It wasn't a threat anymore.
It was a sentence.
A life sentence.
So he chose to become the monster in her story.
He chose to let her hate him...
Rather than risk burying her.
He chose another woman...
Not because he wanted her.
Not because he could ever love anyone else.
But because he needed a wall.
Something cruel enough...
Permanent enough...
To force Juvia to stop waiting for a future that would only kill her.
He had believed this engagement would protect her.
That once she saw him standing beside someone else...
She would finally let him go.
No one had warned him...
That walls don't stop love.
They only imprison it.
Then she smiled.
God...
That smile.
It looked like someone apologizing for giving up.
Like someone quietly laying flowers on the grave of her own dreams.
And in that smile...
He saw everything.
Every year she had waited.
Every hope she had swallowed.
Every tear she had hidden.
Every silent prayer that he would someday choose her.
And suddenly...
He almost did it.
He almost called her name.
Almost shattered the curse with his own hands.
Almost confessed everything.
"I love you."
The words reached his lips...
Then died there.
Because if the curse was real—
If there was even the smallest chance...
Those three words would become her last to hear.
He bit down so hard that the taste of blood filled his mouth.
Stay silent.
He ordered his heart.
Break.
He begged his soul.
If loving her means losing her...
Then let her hate you.
Just don't let her die.
Then she turned away.
One step.
Then another.
Every step tore something out of him.
He wanted to run after her.
To stop her.
To tell her everything.
To choose her...
Just once.
But he remained exactly where he stood.
Because this...
This was the price of loving Juvia.
To watch her walk away believing she had never been loved...
So that she would live long enough...
To hate him.
And when she disappeared from sight...
Gray didn't feel as though he'd lost the woman he loved.
He felt something far crueler.
As though he had buried his own heart...
And was somehow expected to keep living without it.
😭😭😭
😞Juvia😞
She closed the doors to the hall behind her.
Quietly.
So quietly...
As if she were afraid someone might hear the sound of her heart breaking.
She kept walking.
One step.
Then another.
Behind her, the music still played.
Laughter echoed through the building.
Congratulations were exchanged.
Life was moving forward.
Everyone's life...
Except hers.
She didn't break the moment she walked away.
As if every step could somehow carry her farther from the life she had dreamed of.
It didn't.
Because no matter how far she walked...
Couldn't outrun the sound of her own heart shattering.
She didn't know where her feet were taking her.
She only knew she had to get farther away.
Far enough...
That no one would ever see her fall apart.
By the time she reached the empty street, the noise behind her had become nothing more than a distant murmur.
Silence embraced her.
She stopped.
For a long time...
She simply stared ahead.
At nothing.
Then, barely louder than a breath...
She whispered his name.
"Gray..."
His name left her lips like the last thread tying her to this world.
A fragile smile touched her face.
It lasted only a second.
"It's over..."
she whispered.
"It's really over."
And with those words...
Something inside her finally gave up.
Her knees buckled.
She crumpled onto the pavement, catching herself with trembling hands.
One hand flew to her chest.
As though she could somehow hold her heart together before it split apart.
She couldn't.
A broken gasp escaped her.
Then another.
Until the sobs came.
Violent.
Uncontrollable.
The kind that steals the air from your lungs and leaves nothing behind but pain.
She cried as though every year she had spent loving him had chosen this exact moment to mourn itself.
"I would've stayed..."
she choked between sobs.
"I would've stayed if you'd only wanted me..."
Her body folded in on itself.
Small.
Fragile.
Like the world had become too heavy for her to carry.
😭Gray😭
At that exact same moment...
Gray quietly closed the door to an empty room inside the building.
The lock clicked behind him.
He leaned against the door.
For a second...
Then another.
Until his legs gave out beneath him.
He slid to the floor.
Just as she had.
His hand shot up to cover his mouth.
Not because he was strong.
But because he couldn't bear the thought of anyone hearing him.
A sharp breath escaped him.
Then another.
His shoulders began to shake.
He buried his face in his hands.
Fighting the tears.
Losing.
They poured through his fingers in silence.
Hot.
Relentless.
Years of restraint collapsing all at once.
He let his head fall back against the wall.
His eyes squeezed shut.
"Forgive me..."
His voice cracked.
Barely audible.
"Please forgive me, Juvia..."
There was no one there to hear him.
Outside...
Juvia was crying because she believed he had never loved her.
Inside...
Gray was crying because he had loved her far too much.
She thought he had chosen another woman.
He believed he had sacrificed his own happiness...
To save her life.
Between them stood two walls.
One built from stone.
The other...
From a curse.
But neither of them was what truly kept them apart.
It was three simple words...
That were never spoken.
I love you.
Three words that could have given them an entire lifetime.
And according to the curse...
Three words that would have stolen hers.
So she wept beneath the open sky.
He wept behind a locked door.
And each of them believed...
They were the only one leaving that day...
With a heart that would never beat the same again.
He had spent years convincing himself that silence was love.
That if he buried every confession, every longing..
every "I love you" clawing at his throat...
she would live.
But watching her walk away that day, he finally understood the cruelest truth.
There were fates worse than death.
One of them was surviving...
after breaking the heart of the only person you had ever loved.
🥀🥀🥀
😞Juvia 😮💨
The rain had already soaked through her coat by the time she reached the station.
She didn't seem to notice.
In one hand, she carried a small leather bag.
In the other...
A faded blue umbrella she had forgotten to open.
The platform was almost empty.
Only the distant rumble of the approaching train broke the silence.
Juvia stopped beside an old wooden bench.
Slowly...
She reached into her bag.
Her fingers trembled as they closed around something soft.
🧸 Gray's little doll.🧸
The last piece of him she had never found the strength to throw away.
She stared at it for a long time.
Rainwater slid down its tiny face.
For a moment...
It almost looked like it was crying with her.
A fragile smile touched her lips.
"So..."
she whispered.
"I guess it's just you and me now."
Her voice was gentle.
Almost affectionate.
The way people speak to memories they know they have to leave behind.
"I never hated him."
She let out a quiet laugh.
It broke halfway through.
"And that's what hurts the most."
"If I had hated him..."
"I could've forgotten."
"I could've walked away."
"I could've stopped loving him."
Another tear slipped free.
"But I loved him."
"I loved him through every silence."
"Every unanswered question."
"Every day he looked past me..."
"...while I kept convincing myself tomorrow would be different."
She lowered her eyes.
"I waited until there was nothing left of me."
The train's whistle echoed through the rain.
She barely reacted.
"I thought..."
she whispered.
"I thought if I loved him enough..."
"...he would choose me."
A painful smile crossed her face.
"I was wrong."
She looked down at the little doll .
"You know..."
"I don't even blame him anymore."
"I'm just..."
"So tired."
She closed her eyes in agony .. imagining he is there ..
"Every day he made me wonder whether I was simply... impossible to love."
Her voice trembled harder with every word.
"I kept waiting for a sign."
"A glance."
"A single word."
"Anything that would've told me not to give up on us."
"But nothing ever came."
She lowered her head. A tear slipping on his doll .
"And do you know what hurts the most?"
"It wasn't losing him."
"It was losing myself while waiting."
A broken breath escaped her lips.
Silence answered her.
Just as it always had.
Her fingers curled into trembling fists around the doll.
When she finally looked at it again...
There was no anger left in her eyes.
Only grief.
The kind that had already accepted it would never be healed.
"I hope..."She stopped.
The words refused to come.
She smiled instead.
A smile so heartbreakingly gentle it felt like an apology.
"I hope you're happy, Gray."
Another tear fell.
"And I hope..."
Her voice cracked.
"...you never know what it feels like..."
"...to spend years loving someone..."
"...only to leave believing..."
"...you were never loved at all."
A faint, defeated smile touched her lips
"I won't curse you."
"I loved you far too much for that."
She swallowed painfully.
"But..."
Her voice finally broke.
"I'll leave the rest..."
"...to God."
Finally.
Her thumb brushed gently across the tiny scarf of his doll.
"Take care of him for me."
The words escaped before she realized she had spoken them.
She blinked.
Then smiled through tears.
"Because I can't anymore."
Carefully...
Almost reverently...
She placed the doll on the old wooden bench beneath the rain.
Not hidden.
Not protected.
Just... waiting.
The same way she once had.
She stepped back.
Looked at it one last time.
"I'm leaving now."
A long silence settled between them.
"Goodbye..."
Her voice cracked.
"My first love."
She turned around.
She never looked back.
The train doors slid open.
She stepped inside.
The doors closed.
The train disappeared into the endless curtain of rain.
🚊🚊🚊
Minutes later...
The platform stood empty.
Only one forgotten doll remained.
Sitting quietly on an old wooden bench.
Its tiny smile untouched.
Patiently waiting...
For someone...
Who would never come back.
😭💔🥀
