Chapter Text
The artificial sun of Anakt Garden was always too bright, but it paled in comparison to the absolute wildfire that was Ivan.
From his usual spot in the shadow of the concrete pillars, Till watched him.
Ivan had just crumpled up another sheet of paper-apparently trying to draw something, or rather, someone. His little fang was sticking out, just as usual.
Till decided to go to him and annoy him.
"Watcha doing?", Till's voice was like gravel, cutting through the humming quiet of the greenhouse. Ivan didn't even turn around. He closed his notebook as fast as he could and let out a sharp, mocking hum.
"That's none of your business", Ivan said back. You could tell that he was annoyed by the presence of Till.
"C'mon, I know that you are drawing Sua, no need to act like as if I don't know that." Till said in an joyful tone.
Ivan's face flushed red.
"I-i don't?!" He turned his head to face Till who just smiled at him with (how Ivan tought to himself) his stupid smile.
"You know that she will never look at you, right?" Till said, his smile slowly fading. "Why do you keep looking?"
Ivan furrowed his eyebrows.
"Well, how do you know that?!"
"Because everybody knows it," Till lied smoothly, though the words tasted like ash on his tongue. He took a step closer, invading Ivan’s personal space just to feel the heat radiating off the boy.
"You're just wasting your time, Ivan. You don't belong in her world, and she will never look back at you."
Ivan let out a harsh, bitter laugh, clutching his notebook.
"And what are you? "The freak that follows me everywhere? Mind your own damn business, Till."
With a final, angry glare, Ivan brushed past him, his shoulder slamming hard against Till’s.
Till didn't stumble. He stayed frozen in place, his eyes locked on Ivan’s retreating back, watching the way his messy black hair shifted with every angry stride.
The spot where Ivan’s shoulder had hit his was burning, a phantom touch that made Till’s pulse race.
`Maybe he's right? I'm like him...I keep looking even tho I know that he'll never look at me like that at how he looks at her.`
