Chapter Text
Meg Masters open her eyes in another stolen body after Dean and Bobby exorcised her from Sam's body and sent her back to hell. This time, she was in the body of a young woman called ''Ellie'', who lived in alone in a small apartment. She was angry with Dean, every time she was screamed back to hell she promised herself next visit she would make her visit more unforgettable. She needed a better plan in order to do that. Although for now, she wanted to experience the feeling of earth again -- she was free now. Meg left the apartment at the late night. The sky was clear and peaceful. The street was almost quite if she ignore the drunk people walking around her and compliment her to sleep with them. The body inside her was hungry, she was a human after all and food was her way of survive. She stepped inside a supermarket and bought herself a cheap sandwich and a bottle whiskey to celebrate her freedom.
She was intended to get back inside her apartment however, her eyes catches a shop. The shelves were overflowed with crystals, dried herbs and charms and stuff. Many items that most people wouldn't believe one single thought about them being real. 'They sell any junks now huh?' Meg thought.
She stepped inside, she's not wasting any time by looking around. It could be fun to look around hmm? Meg looked around at the ritual items that looked too much like their rituals. There was a wineglass similar to what Meg used to carry in her previous body (The original Meg). She picked it. She looked at the necklaces and the energy inside it. It was interesting.
She decided to take the glass wine and drink on it. She was about to go for the checkout but then she stopped. Her gaze catches a interesting box to search. The box was new and there wasn't many boxes there, makes it seems like it was something so many people would buy. She picked the item as well and went for the buy. The shopkeeper picked each item and placed it in the bag, she stopped at the box and looked at Meg.
"One Wish Willow huh? Don't come at for it after," She said and then placed that in the box. Meg frowned. " Why? What do you mean by that? Is it a scam?"
"Look. We don't sell scams here okay? It's just that some people complain about the wishes they asked for" The shopkeeper added the prices to the machine.
"What do they complain about?" Meg asked. The lady looked at her again and gave her the bag.
"Just as I said, the wishes they make. That's why I am telling you, be careful with that item dear"
Meg was wondered if the wish was truly scam or something hasn't happened yet that Sam and Dean are still not here to check this one out. She left the market. When she returned to the apartment, she immediately opened the bottle of whiskey and sat down. She stared at the wish box in front of her.
What could she possible wish for? She had never needed a wish before. If she wanted something, she made that happen herself. Needing some random object to grand her desire felt like a insult to her. What a stupid thing to consider Meg thought. She went and grabbed Ellie's laptop and opened it. She used laptop in Sam's body before, so she knew how to use it. Ellie's laptop didn't have a password, which was easier for Meg to open. Unlike Sam who had so many random characters as a password. She searched online. "One Wish Willow" she muttered the name while typing it. The results appeared instantly -- showing multiple forums and dozens of discussions. For a moment, Meg almost felt like she was Sam and Dean, investigating a strange case. She scrolled through the posts.
Has anyone actually made any wish from this? Is it real?
Anonymous123: I thought the same thing, but trust me it's real. I wished for million dollar and eventually the money appeared from the ceiling. I should have wished for more though, you can't wish more than once.
SkyMoon22: Not at all! I just use it as a collectible it's a pretty piece.
DeerFish$$: It's real. But be careful with what you wish. The words matter.
Meg stared at the screen. Almost ninety percentage of people called it real and the other ones didn't fully explain why it wasn't. It was real, but there were warnings into it. She finished the rest of her whiskey and felt the alcohol slowly taking over. Her eyes became heavier as she leaned back on the couch. Her mind was circling with the questions about what could she wish for? Would she wish to be immune? Nah. That would be pointless. She already was a demon and could just move to any bodies. Would she wish on other? Maybe she could wish every hunter suffer in hell. But that wouldn't satisfy her psycho mindset. She wanted to be the one making them suffer. Meg scoffed. "Bullshit" . She placed the laptop aside and lay down. A stupid little wish wasn't really going to change anything.
Sam and Dean were driving toward their next destination. Sam was asleep in the passenger seat while Dean drove, enjoying Led Zeppelin playing from the speakers. The bright light eventually hit Sam's face making him awake.
"Finally awake?" Dean teased. Sam blinked, he was still half asleep.
"Did we arrive yet?" He adjusted himself in the seat, stretching himself and trying to wake up properly.
"Almost. Not much longer until we reach the hotel," Dean replied. Sam didn't answer. Instead, he turned around and grabbed his backpack. He zipped the back pack and place the laptop on his laps.
"Okay, let's review everything again," Sam said, opening the files. A picture of a women case file was shown.

Obsession Case
The New York Times Online
On May 29, Nikki Freeman was apprehended in connection with the murders of three individuals in the San Fernando area. Evidence collected at the scene indicated that one of the victims had been mutilated postmortem. During the investigation, approximately $1 billion in cash was reportedly recovered from the living room of one of the victims' residences.
According to witness statements, the final identified victim was confirmed to be Nikki Freeman's partner, who was later determined to have died from an apparent overdose.
Further review of the relationship between Ms. Freeman and Baron "Bear" Bailey has shown that their connection may have played a significant role in the events leading up to the incident.
Witnesses described Ms. Freeman’s behaviour toward Mr. Bailey as increasingly emotional and unusual in the days before the murders.
At this time, the exact reason behind Ms. Freeman’s actions remains unknown. Investigators are continuing to review her statements, medical records and connections to the victims in order to better understand the events that led to the incident.
"Last week, Nikki Freeman was arrested for murdering three people, including her boyfriend--"
"Geez. Scary woman" Dean interrupted. Sam ignored him and continued reading.
"Her friends said she started acting strange after getting into relationship with her boyfriend. She was unusually attached to him and started hurting herself." Dean glanced at Sam.
"Could it just be because her boyfriends was an ass? Maybe he pushed her too far and she finally snapped."
"Or maybe she was possessed," Sam looked at him quizzically. Dean sighed.
"Here we go."
"Think about it Dean," Sam continued. "She suddenly gets into a relationship, starts acting completely different and become obsessed with this guy that she knew more than years. Her friends couldn't recognise her anymore they thought she randomly turned mentally ill. It sounds like we should check it out"
"Alright fine. We'll check it out." He looked back at the road.
"But if there's nothing supernatural going on, we're leaving."
"Fine" Sam smiled slightly.
Sam and Dean walked towards the prison entrance. Inside the security there was a guard sat on the chair reading newspaper. Dean knocked on the glass. The guard jumped slightly before looking up at them. He pressed the button on the intercome.
"Who are you guys?"
"Detective Jesmond sir" Dean said, he smiled politely before gesturing toward Sam.
"And this is detective Paul," Sam nodded. The guard wasn't convinced, he raised an eyebrow.
"Badge."
The brothers pulled out their fake FBI badges and held them up to the glass. The guard studied them carefully. He was suspicious for a moment, but he didn't have any reason to question them.
"What can I do for you?"
"We're here to interview Nikki Freeman," Sam continued. "It shouldn't take long"
"Sorry. Can't do it. Ms. Freeman isn't taking visitors. She's been violent since the arrest"
Sam stepped a little closer. "Look, we're not here to interrogate her. We're following up on a federal investigation. We just need ten minutes."
"Unless you've got authorisation from the warden, she's staying put."
Dean sighed before leaning toward the microphone.
"Listen... if this case ends up being connected to ours, and something else happens because we weren't allowed to ask a few questions, who's going to be explaining that to the FBI?"
The guard hesitated. After a brief silence, he glanced between the two detectives before letting out a long sigh.
"...Fine."
A officer escorted the Winchester brothers into an interview room. Nikki wasn't there yet. Dean and Sam felt a chill interviewing a possible criminal. Dean always said that he can understand demons but the humans gives him chill.
"If anything happens, press the emergency button" The officer instructed before heading for the door.
"You got it man," Dean responded with a grin. Sam looked at him. The officer left, closing the door behind him. Silence came over the room. Dean pulled a chair and sat down.
"Let's see this woman you've been so interested in."
"I'm not--" Sam sighed " I'm not interested."
"Sure you're not" Dean smirked.
"Dean, we are disguising ourselves as a detective interviewing a crazy killer here. At least act like a bit serious otherwise we are fucked with a tiny mistake" Sam argued with Dean with serious tone. He was anxious.
"Okay fine fine chill" Dean said. A few moments later, the door opened again. An officer escorted Nikki into the room. She didn't look as violent as the guard there described her. More than that-- she looked exhausted. She had dark circles beneath her eyes and her wrist remained cuffed. Sam noticed the bruises on her face. She avoided looking at either of them as she sat down. The officer uncuffed her from escort chain but let the restraints on.
"If you need anything, press the button."
Dean nodded. The officer left the room. Now it was only Sam and Dean and Nikki there. For several seconds, no one spoke -- it felt awkward. Sam finally decided to break the silence.
"Hey...My name's Paul." His voice was calm and reassuring. "We're just here to understand what happened. We're not here to judge you."
Nikki didn't respond. She was still looking at the table.
"So... could you explain what happened?"
"I already confessed," she muttered without looking up.
"We're not asking about your confession," Dean said. "We want to hear your side of the story." Nikki finally looked at them. She let out a bitter laugh. "What's the point? I'm already being charged with three murders. There's no turning back on me now" Sam was silent, he didn't say anything for a brief moment. Then he asked another question with more serious tone.
"Were you the one who killed them?" Nikki hesitated. She was almost ready to argue-- they noticed the body language. But she gave up and looked down again.
"...Yeah." Her voice was quite. Dean exchanged a quick glance with Sam. Sam reached into his jacket and pulled out a small voice recorder.
"Nikki, I'm going to ask you few questions and I need you to be honest with me Okay?" Sam shifted back to the calm gentle voice. Nikki gave a small nod.
"Before everything happened...did you hear anything unusual? Any strange noises?" Nikki frowned.
"Noises? what does that have to do with--"
"It's part of the investigation I can't tell you. Would you answer it?" Sam said gently. He waited patiently for Nikki to answer.
"Even if I tell you...No one's going to believe me"
Sam leaned forwards slightly and smiled.
"Try us"
She was quite for a moment, then she took a slow breath and looked at Sam and Dean.
"I heard...many things"
"What do you mean?"
"It was like my ears wouldn't stop ringing. Voices...Whispers...It's like my brain was having a inside voice that wasn't belong to me." She swallowed.
"And..." her voice trembled. she looked down, struggling to face to face with the brothers. "I wasn't in control of my body" Sam took the hint he was looking for-- something to look for.
"It's okay," Sam said softly. "Take your time."
Nikki looked up at him.
"I'm not crazy, okay?"
"No one's saying you are."
"Before all of this, I threw a small party with my friends. At night, I was getting ready to go home when Bear offered to drive me home" The moment she said his name, her face turned into slight disgust.
"Everything was normal, I felt normal. I got out of his car and walked toward my front door" she paused.
"Then...I blinked...And when I opened my eyes...I was inside his house" Neither Sam and Dean interrupted. They were both listening.
"It felt like I was trapped inside my own head. I could see everything and hear everything... but I couldn't stop myself." Her breath became shaky.
"Something was forcing me to love him. I didn't love Bear" she shook her head.
"I never loved Bear" She looked back at Sam and Dean with desperation of wanting to be understood. "He was like a brother to me." Tears gathered in her eyes. Sam waited patiently for a right moment before asking the next question.
"Were you still feeling that way after he died?" Nikki slowly shook her head.
"No."Her voice felt like a whisper. "The moment he killed himself... it was over."
She looked down at her trembling hands. "I finally had control of my body again."
A tear rolled down her cheek. She put her hands on her face.
"But... at what cost?" her voice was flat.
Silence filled the room. Neither Winchester said a word. Nikki didn't say a word after that sentence for the rest of it.
"I think this is our job," Dean said as he jumped onto the bed.
Sam stepped inside the motel room behind him and took off his coat.
"It irritates me, though. I don't get it," Sam said, sitting down beside him.
"Nikki gets possessed and becomes obsessed with this guy. But Baron or perhaps Bear wasn't a shapeshifter, and he wasn't a demon either. So what the hell is going on?" Sam ran a hand through his hair. "I looked into his background. He was completely normal."
"Yeah, except everyone said he had a crush on her," Dean replied. "If you ask me, that guy definitely did something."
Sam looked at him. "Or something happened to him."
Dean raised an eyebrow.
"Either way, we should check his house."
Sam sighed. "Yeah. We should."
Later that night, Dean and Sam slipped past the police tape and quietly entered Bear's house through a window. The moment they stepped inside, Dean stopped.
"Holy shit"
The living room was covered in blood. Three bodies had been found inside the house, and the scene was still covered with evidence from the investigation. The amount of violence left behind made the room feel cold and unsettling. Sam walked toward the bathroom to investigate while Dean stayed in the living room, looking through everything around him. A few moments later, Dean called out.
"Dude. I think I cracked the case." Sam immediately turned around and looked at Dean towards the door.
"What did you find?"
Dean held up a small open box.
"One Wish Willow" He smirked and gave Sam a wink. Sam blinked and stared at him.
"Stop messing around and look for something actually useful." Dean frowned.
"I am doing that" He looked down at the wish box.
"What's wrong with a wish? If it was really that easy, I would've wished for every beautiful woman in the world to be obsessed with me." He paused.
"Wait..."
Dean looked back at Sam with a confident smile.
"I don't need a wish for that."
Sam rolled his eyes. "So funny Dean" He took the wish box and put it in his pocket.
"Well, I didn't find any symbol or ritual markings anywhere. Did you?" Dean asked.
"Beside finding out that Bear actually killed himself and not Nikki, no I also saw nothing" Sam said.
Dean looked around the room.
"So technically, Everything in here looks pretty normal besides..." He glanced at the bloodstained floor.
"...Whatever the hell happened here." Sam was quite.
"Nikki said she gained control of herself after Bear died."
Dean looked at him.
"You think he carved a symbol into his own body?"
Sam didn't answer immediately.
"Should we check his corpse?" The question was mostly rhetorical --They already knew the answer. They would go to the cemetery at night.
At around 11 pm, the brothers went in the graveyard. It was Silent, nobody was around which made it the perfect time for brothers to dig up the grave of someone who died only a week ago.
"Ugh... I fucking hate this." Sam muttered while digging. After hours of digging, they finally reached the coffin.
"Last time I checked the coffin -- Now it's your turn" Sam said towards Dean.
"Don't be a scaredy cat Sam. Thst coffin was empty anyway" Dean responded. Sam gave a smile.
"Well maybe luck comes for you too and this one is empty too" Dean looked at Sam for a brief moment before jumping. He threw the shovel aside.
"Bitch" Dean said.
"Jerk" Sam responded back, watching Dean from above. Dean opened the coffin. Unlucky for him the coffin was not empty and both brothers felt uncomfortable. The smell immediately fell over and Dean and Sam had to cover their nose trying not to throw up. They were used to investigate old graves but seeing a recent dead person felt different.
"You see anything?" Sam called out.
"Give me a second Sam. I just started looking," Dean replied, he was annoyed and it showed through his tone.
"Suit yourself" Sam responded with quite voice.
Dean looked over the body carefully, checking every possible place to see if there's anything unusual.
"Sam"
"Yeah?"
"There's nothing" Dean stared back at Sam seriously. The guy looked completely normal for someone who cause an obsession strong enough to destroy a person's life. He just had a normal body who had a suicide attempt through overdose. Sam didn't answer but he was just as disappointed as Dean was.
"You know...maybe Nikki was lying after all," Dean said as he climbed back out of the grave. "Just saying" Sam stayed still thinking.
"Or maybe..." Dean continued with a small smirk appearing on his face. "He wished for it." He smirked at Sam, reminding him about One Wish Willow. For some seconds Sam didn't answer but then he finally spoke.
"Perhaps we should check it out,"
“You’re serious?” Dean laughed. “You’re into collecting toys now?”
"Shut up Dean. It's our only possible lead"
“Fine. I’ll get you your toy. Just don’t wish for anything terrible involving your brother, okay?” Dean walked past him and opened the car door.
For the next few hours, the brothers searched everywhere for the One Wish Willow. They checked stores and asked around, but nobody seemed to know anything about it. It was almost one now. Eventually they gave up and parked on a quite road. The street were mostly empty, but it wasn't dead. The lights from nearby buildings were still on and people were mostly inside bars and stuff. The brothers stepped out of the Impala and decided to ask anyone they could find to see if anyone sell this in this area.
"I miss vampires," Dean muttered, he wanted to go home and sleep so bad.
"If we didn't find anything in here either we leave the rest of the search for tomorrow" Sam voice was tired too. A middle aged man walked out of a nearby bar. Dean approached him.
"Excuse me sir," Dean stepped closer, forcing a smile and waved.
"Wow. You two look even messier than me. Did you came out of jungle or something?" The drunk man laughed. Dean really wanted to say something but he decided to laugh along. Sam was thinking maybe they should go ask someone else.
"We're sorry to bother you. We go look somewhere--" Dean interrupted.
"You see, my brother is a big fan of collectible toys," Sam immediately looked at Dean and raised an eyebrow.
“As an older brother, I promised him that if he improved his grades, I’d get him what he wanted. You don’t happen to know where we could find something called the One Wish Willow, do you?”
Dean looked proud of himself, enjoying the embarrassment on Sam’s face. The man blinked and lighted his cigarette out.
“Ha. What are you, five? Who even searches for something like that?” The drunk man bursted into laughter. Dean laughed awkwardly.
“I know, I know. My brother is just--” Sam lightly kicked Dean’s hand and forced a smile.
“You ask some funny questions Son. How the hell would I know that?” the man snapped. “Do I look like some kind of kid to you? Piss off and leave me alone.” The old man shoved Dean slightly and walked away. Dean watched him leave.
"I really want to kill that guy,"
"Wait Dean--"
Before Dean could do anything and Sam stopping it, another person approached them. A young woman with shoulder length red hair stood in front of them. She was wearing jeans and a simple short sleeved shirt. She looked kind and pretty enough for Dean to shove his annoyance feeling away.
"Sorry to bother you guys," She said, her voice was gentle. "But I overheard your conversation. You're looking for One Wish Willow right?" Dean and Sam exchanged a look. Although Dean seemed more happier now that someone more friendly and pretty approached to them.
"Yeah actually. You know where we can find one?" Sam asked.
"Yeah. The shop is nearby. I can show you."She started walking, and the brothers followed. Dean walked beside her and Sam had to walk behind them.
“So why are you guys looking for it?” she asked, smiling at Dean. “Trying to make a wish?”
“Nah nah. He just wants collectibles,” Dean looked back at Sam. Sam stared back at Dean with annoyance.
“That’s actually really sweet,” she said. “You really care about your brother.”
Dean smiled.
“Yeah… gotta grant his wishes y'know,”
The woman didn’t respond immediately. She simply looked at him with an amused expression before smiling slightly.
“Here we are.”
She pointed toward the shop. The lights were still on, and several people were inside. The shop had the sign name ' The Green Man' on top .
Dean smiled. “Thanks. Owe you one.”
He lightly patted her shoulder and was about to get inside.
“That’s fine,” she replied. “ My name is Ellie.”
“Right. Thanks Ellie. Come on Sam.”
Dean entered the shop. Sam was about to get inside, but he stopped and turned back.
“Thanks again, Ellie.”
“No problem,” she teased. “Enjoy your collection.” Sam rolled his eyes. "Yeah.." he said that with a quite voice and then got inside. As the brothers searched through the shop for the One Wish Willow, Ellie remained outside, watching them.
'It really is that serious, huh?' she thought. 'I couldn’t expect anything less from them.'
After a moment, she pulled out her own wish box. She looked at the box and smiled.
“I think I know exactly what to wish for.” She looked at the instruction, all she had to do was to speak her wish after opening the box. The metal stick began playing its music which took for like two second. Then she raised her hands and prepared to break it.
“I wish Sam Winchester hated Dean Winchester more than anyone in the entire world.”
And with that, she snapped the stick in half.
