It has been a while since that incident with Three. All of the algebraliens had decided to go their own way, due to their fear of One coming back and causing another disaster yet again. So, everyone is seperated... Except for Four and X.
Both of them have a strong kind of codependency towards eachother, only staying away from one another when they both know they are fine. It isn’t healthy.. But can you blame them? They definitely aren’t in the best mental state right now. But they are getting better! Right?
It is late at night, Four and X were at bed, while X was already asleep, Four was having some difficulties with managing his sleep, he looked to his side, seeing X peacefully rest, they couldn’t help but feel a little envious about it. But nothing that would ruin their whole night or anything. They looked to the other side, so they could check the time.
‘’11 pm...’’ He thought to himself. Well, it isnt THAT late, at least. Even so, he knows how worried X gets about his health, and his worry got even worse after... He'd rather not think that much about it. Anyway, they need to start sleeping or else they are going to get lost in thought.
So they closed their eyes, waiting to fully fall asleep.
Sniff.
That instantly made Four open his eyes again, he looked to both of his sides, there was no one other than X, how strange..?
Sniff
That again, but this time, it was more clear. He sat on the bed, looked to X again, whose was facing the opposite direction of Four, and slowly got more closer to them, to get a look at their face.
He was crying.
A bunch of tears were falling through X's eyes.
Four didn't event think before he started slowly shaking X to wake him up.
‘’X.. Hey, X?’’ They didnt receive an answer. "X PLEASE wake up!" He begged while his shaking got more violent. In a moment, X woke up, gasping, looking directly at Four.
He instantly pulled Four for a hug, trembling in fear, he was trembling so much that it looked like he has just left from a cold bath. They were desperately trying to catch some air, as if they were suffocating for a long time. Four had no option but reciprocate the hug while he was organizing his thoughts. ‘What possibly happened..?’
‘’Four...’’ X began to speak, his voice faltering "I.. I thought- I thought i was..."
"Don't worry X, i'm here, please calm down.." Four calmly answered, while gently caressing X's back.
Slowly, X's breathing became more stable, and he wasn't trembling that much. Gosh, what should Four do to help him? Well, of course he was already trying to calm him down by physical touch, but how are they going to communicate with X? He is used to X helping him out, not the other way... Still, he couldn't just let them just cry for the whole night, he needed to say something.
"Hey, X.." he said, while adjusting their position, so they could directly look at X "Do you mind telling me what happened?"
"... Well.." They sniffed, looking like they are organizing their thoughts "I was dreaming that One got out of the moon and- took revenge... She also just came and slowly killed you and-"
"Woah, hey!" Four interrupted X "This isn't going to happen, ok? She is sealed in the moon and we are also safe here, just the two of us. Alright?"
"I.. I know that, but.. The thought of losing you makes my heart ache."
Silence filled the room. Four doesn't know if they should keep reassuring X or if he was better now. Either way, he decided to lay himself and X while cuddling with him, which seemed to completely ease X
"... Listen, X, even if One somehow escapes the moon, we still have a bunch of power from the yoylelite, more than her's at least. So, if anything happens, i will protect you."
"And you will also protect yourself?" X asked
"Yes. I will, i will protect both of us." Four hesitantly responded, but still sounded confident.
"Well, i guess i shouldn't worry that much then" X turned himself to Four and gave him a kiss, which made Four freeze for a moment, making X laugh
"Alright, alright, lets sleep now, ok? Me and you." X said softly
"... Yeah, goodnight, X."
"Goodnight, my treasure"
After that, both of them closed their eyes and started sleeping... Except for some moments later that Four woke up and decided that X wasn't close enough to him so he just pulled X closer, but after that he genuinely fell asleep
Both of them had a goodnight night, feeling eachother's warmth gave both of them a comfort and safety that they wouldn't find in anyone else, and that is all they needed.
