Chapter Text
The room was cold. It felt like ice against shadow milks hands as he held onto the floor as if he'd float away.
Shadow milk, he had had enough and he knew what to do he had done it before and sure he'd get lectured but it's worth it to escape whatever type of damnation this is.
When pure vanilla came down to 'check' on him, shadow milk would throw a show for his dear other half, and just in time, the door upstairs clicked open.
The light footsteps of the glorious vanilla King walking down came closer as he approached the holding cell that shadow milk was.
"Good afternoon, Bluebird."
Pure vanillas voice broke through the cold silence, but that's exactly what he got in return. It went on for a few minutes till he got a pitiful reply
"Is it worth it?"
It came out broken and weak. It made pure vanilla takes a step closer, his smile faltering, his expression puzzled.
"What do you mean?"
"Is this really worth it?"
Pure vanilla was still confused but scared to push further, so he just stood there, helpless and oblivious to the amazing show that was about to happen.
"Why?"
"Are you planning something shadow milk?"
Pure vanilla's expression darkened, eyes closing.
"Let's not have a repeat of last month,"
"No promises"
It's still a pitiful reply from shadow milk how unusual. Shadow milk was never like this.
Had pure vanilla broke him?
Pure vanilla didn't know all he knew was that right now shadow milk had begun laughing well he normally does that anyways, so maybe he hadn't?
"Maybe I have,"
Oh, that's why.
It made pure vanilla's smile fully disappear, eye twitching.
The last time shadow milk had said that he had broken the wall and tried to float away but fell when he reached the magic barrier. Pure vanilla still needed to repay that poor, old cookie for shadow milk crashing through her roof.
"I swear if you're planning something,"
"I am~"
There was a teasing hint to that weak voice. It made pure vanilla's eyebrows furrow, annoyance shown on his face.
"What are you planning?"
"I can show you if you want vanilly~?"
Again that teasing tone.
"Go on bluebird"
A smooth, crispy dough breaking like sound filled the cell. It was weird, a sound pure vanilla only hears on the battlefield. But whatever it was made shadow milks breath hitch, then make an almost choking like sound.
His body began to slump forward, and pure vanilla surged forward regarding the few feet distance the guards gave him, white robe rubbing against the stone floor as he moved, catching shadow milk before he fell.
An arm wrapped around his stomach, hauling him into pure vanilla's arms and against his chest
It was a rather intimate position, pure vanilla thought, but then something sticky landed on his royal robes.
It was blue, a bright blue...was that jam!? Pure vanilla's jam is red, but different cookies sometimes have different coloured jam, so it would make sense for Shadow milks jam to be blue, but he's getting off topic.
The vanilla healer brought a hand over the upper part of Shadow milks chest, trying to use his healing magic.
It sparked and fluttered but died as it didn't do anything. Maybe the wound wasn't on his chest, haha.
Pure vanilla moved his hand over shadow milks body finding many weeping wounds around said body, with small knifes jabbed into each wound, they obviously had been there for a little while but the beast's ability to turn his pain receptors off like it was a fucking light switch, definitely was put to good use in his horrible show.
Pure vanilla's breathing had become faster as his hand moved frantically as he refused to believe why his magic wasn't working, that shadow milk may have left him.
How dare he
The jam was staining the healer's robes blue spreading across white like spilled ink.
Tears were falling, making his dough puffy and red as he stared down at his departed other half. He had no right to do this.
His hand had stopped moving, now shaking too much to cast his healing magic. He was trembling as sobs rippled through his body he was ugly crying.
The blue jam continued to drip, staining the cold floor and pure vanilla's robes, not that he cared.
Pure vanilla knew it was his fault, he knew it was I mean who would like to be locked in the dungeon and if it had been up to the healer his other half would have his own chamber but the cookies of the kingdom were scared.
But now it had led to this, shadow milks body was beginning to grow cold, blue pouring out in waves as one off the knifes dislodged from it's spot buried in his dough, a clatter as the knife hit the sugar stone floor.
The healer didn't know how to feel, but he knew what to do.
They say love drives a cookie crazy, don't they?
