Survival or Death

Summary:

It's time for the challenge!

It's time for all of her generation in the Federation to undertake the survival challenge.

She's in the lower age group, but isn't the youngest.

Let the challenge begin. She would prove herself.

Chapter Text

Her birth name was Destiny Heaven. Though only her father called her that. Everyone else just called her M'lady. She was sixteen and the youngest of twenty.

She had black hair down to her shoulders that was pulled up into a short ponytail; she had black eyes, the same as her father's, her grandfather's, and so on. She had pale skin and a perfect model body that was lean and perfectly in shape. She wore a black sports bra over her admittedly small chest, black short shorts, black combat boots, and black fingerless gloves. Around her neck, she wore a set of silver dog tags that also had a fang on them. On her back was a sword. A new accessory was the silver bracelet on her left wrist.

A screen popped up in front of her from the bracelet. She read everything and learned the interface. In her Inventory, she carried a stone pickaxe, a stone axe, and the sword. She reached back and touched the sword.

"Ugh, you're here too?" She asked. "Well, we've got work to do."

She felt a brush of heat from the sword and knew what it meant.

"Okay, the base first." Her eyes shot around. She was in some kind of jungle. "Get ready." She told the sword and went in search of the perfect place. She ran, jumped, and skulked around until she found the perfect place for an underground base. While she did, she gathered wood, stone, vines, and more. "Build: Underground Base."

She tapped at her screen and was soon slipping inside. It was dark all the way down to the room. She found the fireplace and lit it. The room was made of broken and rotting wood.

Quest!

Study the Protection Rune!

Cast the Protection Room on the Door!

She cursed.

"Rune Casting?" She growled. "I hate Rune Casting!"

It was true. Her power was normally stated as Destruction. Protection power, while she could do it, was highly draining to her. She pressed the screen and was soon studying the information. She then had to pass a test, which she did on the first try. After that, she had to practice tracing the rune until she memorized it and could do it in her sleep; then the hard part: she had to channel the correct amount of Protection energy long enough to cast the rune. It was just practice, but she had to hold the energy while tracing the rune. It took her over an hour. She was covered in sweat and panting, but managed to cast it on the door.

Federation Royal Families Ancient Ancestral Chamber

"I find it hilarious that we almost just lost her to a Protection Rune." A woman laughed.

"Silence, Zaya!" The High King Erik boomed. "That is your step-daughter and my daughter!"

Erik watched his youngest. She had almost been taken out by a Rune Casting. He knew that she had trouble with her powers. That she didn't understand them fully; she would need to learn fast if she wanted to win.

She got up and went back downstairs.

M'lady is the first in the region to cast the Protection Rune!

She has been rewarded with a Bronze chest!

M'lady is the first on her world to cast the Protection Rune!

She has been rewarded with a Bronze Chest!

M'lady is the first in her system to cast the Protection Rune!

She has been rewarded with a Silver Chest!

M'lady is the first person in the Federation to cast the Protection Rune!

She has been rewarded with a Silver Chest!

"Ugh." She said, flopping onto the floor. "Thank you, ancestors." She prayed as the four chests appeared. She wiped sweat from her head. "I think I almost died doing that. I need practice."

Spin for your Talent!

"Oh, right." She nodded and touched the wheel. She waited to open the chests and brought up the four chat screens. Everyone knew who she was and wasn't surprised. She was labeled a prodigy after all. Though they weren't happy about it. She smirked at a message in regional chat from Lacrusion Fang. "Almost doesn't count, Cruise. Just try to keep up as usual."

She didn't post it, but it was their usual game. He was always trying to get ahead of her but couldn't.

Talent Drawn

Ancestor's Blessing

She sighed. She'd known that would be her Talent. She opened the first bronze chest.

x5 Water Bottles

x 10 Wood

x 1 Mini Lighter

x 10 Stone

She then opened the second bronze chest.

x 10 Vines

x 10 Compressed Biscuits

x 10 Seaweed

x 10 Water Bottles

She opened the first silver chest.

x1 Skill Orb

x10 Jelly Packets

x1 Military Knife (Common)

x1 Torch Blueprint (Common)

She opened the second silver chest.

x1 Bed Blueprint (Common)

x10 Soda

x1 Power Orb

x1 Venalation Shaft Blueprint

She hummed. She checked over what she needed for the Venalation Shaft. This was a dire need. She had enough wood. She had over 100 because of the gathering on the way here. She used his crafting screen to make the ventilation shaft. She would need to be careful because of how much could be filtered. She made the bed and two torches near the door, and they were mounted on the wall.

She nodded and sat on the bed sipping some water. She activated the Power Orb.

Power Obtained!

Destructive Burst

She then unlocked the skill orb.

Enhancement

She read that she could only use it once a day. She walked up to the door to see the rune glowing. She put her hand on the door and used the Enhancement.

Your door becomes much more sturdy.

"Much more?" She scoffed. "It went up by one point." She rolled her eyes and went back to the bed. She brought up the trade screen and called up the youngest two members of her court. She knew they were here because they were the last group of the generation. Both were both 9. "Conner. Ichi. I've got soda for you."

"Really?!" Both boys cheered. "Real soda?"

"Real soda. One can each, so enjoy it, boys."

"Hang on, M'lady. Cruise is calling. We'll do a group call."

A third screen appeared showing a very handsome man with very aristocratic features and long braided silver hair and eyes.

Conner had Onyx-colored hair and eyes. He also had aristocratic features. His hair was short and messy.

Ichi had Baby Blue-colored hair and eyes. He also had aristocratic features. His hair was short and neatly styled.

"Cruise, M'lady has soda! Real soda!" Ichi cheered.

"Real soda?" Lacrusion wondered, then smirked at her. "Lucky, Lucky, Princess."

"Call me that again, and you're not getting one." She huffed.

"My apologies, M'lady. Greatest of the great." Lacrusion soothed.

Conner and Ichi were laughing.

She scoffed, but they shared a meal of soda, compressed biscuits, and jelly packets.
