Connie's Funny Jokes

Summary:

— "Con..? You there?" Gigi's voice sounded vague through the door as she knocked on it. "Flutter and I are worried about you... "
Connie didn't respond, the ghost didn't had the energy to, she just made a tiny sob, and floated just to unlock the door.
-
Or: Connie can't deal with everyone deadnaming her and making her feel like she force people to talk to her, but she can't bring herself to speak up.

This is my very first fic, and one of those vent comics, but written, because I have no idea of drawing, anyways,,

there's going to be a lot, and trust me, A LOT, of mischaracterization in this, i mean, it's a vent comic, come on.
Connie's trans here, it's my precious headcannon now
Dandy's an asshole, it's for the plot, sorry.
Enjoy! Btw, english NOT my native language :P

Notes:

Hi there! I finally worked up the courage to post a fic, hope you like it!
Remind u this is a vent story, so there will be mischaracterization.
Enjoy!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Boolinsky..?

Chapter Text

Brightney was organizing books in the library; she held a small stack in her arms and was placing them on the lower shelves when a small blue flash caught her eye.

—"Huh?" The lamp was interrupted by a sudden appearance.

—"BOO!" Connie exclaimed, popping out from behind the shelves.

Brightney was startled and fell to the floor, sending the books scattering everywhere. — "Connie!" she shouted, annoyed.

Connie burst out laughing and left the library. The lamp, now alone, let out an angry huff.

The ghost giggled as she left, happy that her prank had worked—until, forgetting to stay invisible, she bumped into someone.

It was Dandy.

Connie was immediately startled—just a little, but startled nonetheless. —"I'm sorry, Dandy!" she said, sounding a bit flustered.

Dandy raised an eyebrow, eyes annoyed. —"Oh, don't worry about it. You're always up to your pranks, Boolinsky" he murmured, emphasizing the last word.

Connie froze at those words—that name... No one knew it except the Halloween toons, Dandy, Dyle, and... Gigi and Flutter. —"I-I'm not..."

—"What? You're not Boolinsky? Please, in your information, it says otherwise..." He mumbled, smirking.

The ghost felt her eyes starting to sting, words trapped in a lump in her throat, shit, she couldn't cry in front of Dandy, never.

She immediately dissapeared, hearing Dandy's low chuckle as she floated away, her mind repeating the same words again and again. Connie didn't even see Brightney, who watched everyting from inside the library, furrowing at Dandy's words, watching Connie vanish.

Connie appeared in the hall that led to her room, bright as new, as it the incident never happened; luckily, she spotted her two bestfriends: Gigi & Flutter. A tiny smile formed on her face.

—"Hey, girls!" She yelled from across the room; Gigi and Flutter immediately turned to look at her. They waved at her, but it seemed kind of awkward. Gigi didn't look up at her, and Flutter only nodded at her.

Connie catched up to them, smilling. —"Yo, how's it going? You guys are going to be amazed by the prank I pulled up to-" The ghost got cut off mid-sentence by Gigi.

—"Hey, slow down, me and Flutter were talking about... Personal things" She mumbled while Flutter nodded. —"You can catch up to us later! Just... Not now, okay?"

Connie's excitement vanished instantly, Gigi sounded... Uncomfortable, like she was hiding something; and the mere thought of that made her feel stupid. —"Oh... Okay.. I guess, I'll go to my room then, have fun" She murmured, not waiting for a response, floating towards her room.

Now it wasn't just Dandy's, Gigi and Flutter's words and body language were filling her head, it was so bad that-

THUD!

She bumped into another toon, her floating body allowing her to stay off the floor.

But it wasn't the same for Glisten. —"What the-!" He protested as he sat up immediately, his gaze catching Connie by his side. —"Connie! Again?"

The ghost tried to say something to defend hersef, but she only let out something about begin sorry. "I- Sorry.."

—"No, you're always bumping to others to make them fall, and scaring them in the halls and-" Glisten let out a sigh. —"Get tired of it once and for all—get tired of yourself." He said with anger, walking away, murmuring something to himself.

Connie looked back at Glisten as he walked away, her eyes filling with tears refusing to spill out; she dissapeared, going to her room as fast as possible as tears threatened to fall.

She needed to let it out, somehow.

—"Dandy, that... that wasn't kind at all" Brightney blurted out at the flower, unable to stay quiet. —"I don't know why Connie got so frightened about that name, but if it makes her uncomfortable, you really shouldn't-" The lamp got cut off by Dandy.

— "You wanna know why that name makes Connie uncomfortable? He is 'transgender' or whatever it's called, he's not even a real girl!" Dandy blurted out with sassyness, smiling.

Brightney's heart skipped a beat; transexual? She read about that in a book, identities and sexual orientations, it wasn't hard to understand, and she, personally, knew she was lesbian.

And oh boy, she was mad with that flower. —"You're kidding, right?" Her voice was sharp, it wasn't like her. —"Oh my god... That's not fair for Connie! Are you out of your mind? She is a girl, I don't care how you think, but in everyone's eyes, she is and forever be a girl." The lamp huffed, turning around. —"You're out of your mind, Dandy." She said as she walked away.

Behind her, Dandy stayed there, thoughtful for a moment, smirking at the second, his mind filling with ideas.
