Chapter Text
Things are different with Rain gone.
I really miss her, I do.
But maybe it’s better this way?
Oh, gods. I sound like an awful person.
I groaned, rubbing my eyes as I grabbed my toast.
It was plain since we didn’t have butter, but I would take anything in this world.
“Morning, Jade!” Alex leaned against the wall.
“Morning.” I grumbled.
They frowned. “You’re upset this morning.”
I rolled my eyes. “Well, my girlfriend is dead, and it’s 6:00am.”
Alex sighed. “It’s just that you’re more upset than before.”
I rolled my eyes. “Whatever. You’ve still got your girlfriend.”
Alex rolled their eyes. “Whatever. Enjoy your plain toast!” Then they disappeared.
I groaned, putting my head in my hands.
I retreated to my room, locking the door.
I laid on my bed, wishing more than anything else that Rain was here.
I groaned, turning on my side, pulling Rain’s old jacket to my chest.
It still smelt like her, but barely.
“Rain, why did you have to go?” I whispered.
Rain made everything easier, but now I face a really hard choice, without her.
“I don't want to go back to how it was before.” I told the cold night air.
I eventually got to sleep, but it wasn’t peaceful. My dreams were the same as always: awful.
