After the first Titanomachy.
The world was recovering steadily from the damage suffered during the war. The mortals were coming out of their caves once more and were hunting and gathering again. But, their form was starting to worry the gods—or one god in particular, King God Zeus.
Their form consisted of having two heads, four arm limbs and four leg limbs. This made the thunder god wary of them for they would become too powerful and try to overthrow the gods.
So,to weaken them,Zeus struck them with his lightning bolt and equally dived their form. This altercation created the mortal form that is known and exists today.
But, this decision had consequences.
As the body of mortals were split into two, their soul was also broken so it could take root in the other half. Hence,this lead to the creation of soulmates.
Every person ever born has their other half roaming some part of the world,but only those selected by the fates themselves can identify them by a single touch.
Gods themselves are considered to never have soulmates,as they are known to be born with their soul whole,but that is not always the case,is it?
