Chapter Text
In a world filled with magic, kingdoms, dragons and mysteries, we encounter 4 brave and passionate men who find their way to fulfilling their dreams, taking care of their citizens, going on adventures to learn the world, or even feeling trapped in an environment at which they want nothing apart of.
There are two major kingdoms of this world; the kingdom of fire slayers, or Endeavors Kingdom, and the kingdom of DragonsVille, Bakugo Katsuki’s kingdom.
What are the differences, you may ask?
The Kingdom Of Fire Slayers goal is to annihilate any and all creatures, items, or people who could possibly overcome Endeavor, and the future heir of the kingdom, Todoroki Shouto. This includes dragons, which the Kingdom of DragonsVille is entirely based on.
Bakugo Katsuki is an emperor. He rules the dragons. He has a strict bond with his dragon, Ejirou Kirishima. He trains young dragons, he protects them. However, his kingdom accepts any and all creatures, including unicorns, mermaids, ultra beasts, along with any regular citizens such as faeries, people who use magic, people who don’t, any and all are welcomed as long as they don’t seize to harm.
When making his bond with Kirishima, Bakugo Katsuki has the ability to talk and communicate with dragons, to understand their language and feelings. And while many people love him, and many people choose to be on his side or at least desire to be on his side, he is Endeavors number 1 target. Without the emperor of the dragons, they will be lost, they won’t be able to train as efficiently, especially if they are young. They become fragile.
Shouto Todoroki, he is the prince of the Fire Slayers kingdom, the man who is supposed to become king. He has ice and fire magic, and has trained his entire life to become this heir. Does he truly want to be the king? Does he actually hate dragons? It’s what any ruler should be, he is Endeavors prodigy, after all.
Izuku Midoriya, an adventurer who wants to discover everything about this world. He likes to do any and all research about what he sees, and all he’s ever wanted is to be out in the world. Izuku’s powers have always been strange. Sometimes he’s able to be super strong, while other times he has the ability to float or do any abilities. However, he’s never known how to truly use his power, and that’s always been an obstacle that he has to face.
There are many things to their world, one with mysteries that lie beyond their comprehension, and sometimes, not even the greatest book can prepare you for it. The unknown capabilities of dragons. The hidden rage that can come to you. The relationships you can build between people, even if in imposing forces.
While I can not explain the all of the dangerous adventures and all that comes to this mysterious world just yet, there is a journey that will be embedded into. A journey that doesn’t just include haunting and terrifying moments, but one that can bring out something more powerful than any negative emotion.
Love.

Late at night, in the Kingdom Of Dragonsville, the emperor Bakugo Katsuki made his way back to his bedroom chamber. Taking off his red cloak and dragon jewels that were symbols of his leadership and major role of the creatures. ‘They were delicate and powerful treasures.’ Bakugo thought to himself every night, while placing them on the nightstand that stood right beside his bed, he immediately sat down on said mattress afterwards.
Putting one leg on the other, he grunted, about to take off his black leathered boots, when he heard a few excited knocks at his bedroom door.
“Who is it?” The blonde exclaimed, looking at the wooden door, knowing who it already was, even if he asked. He was already agitated from the busy day that he had. He had to be around untrained dragons, needing his help and whining at the training that was needed to be done all day long. He could feel the soreness in his throat from all the constant yelling he had to do.
“Katsuki, can I come in?” The voice asked, but the knob was already turning, and the door was already halfway opened before he could answer.
“Why the hell ask, if you’re just going to barge in, Kirishima? You better make this quick, we got shit to do in the morning. We need to go pay pinkcheeks a visit, need more potions.” He put his leg down off the other, getting up from the side of his bed that wasn’t facing the door, and sitting down on the side that was facing the entrance to his chambers, to properly meet the pair of ruby red eyes that stared at him.
“I… wanted to ask if I could sleep in here tonight. It’s getting cold, winter is coming.. and you’re warm..” Kirishima hesitated, fidgeting with his fingers as he tried his best to keep eye contact with his humans crimson eyes, never missing how much of an intense gaze that they always kept on everyone around him.
“Just say you wanna sleep with me”, Katsuki shifted his weight onto one of his arms that he placed beside him, his aggressive expression faded as a smirk started to creep on his tanned face.
”I- I mean I do..!” He started, his face turning a shade of pink that was extremely obvious to the eye, “but if I asked you every single time I wanted to sleep in here, I’d be in here every night..” His eyes shifted, a hand crept onto the back of his neck, lightly needing on the skin to indicate his shyness.
Katsuki’s ears mirrored the shade that appeared on the other males face, “Tsk, come here then.”
Kirishima’s eyes widened in excitement, a smile quickly plastered onto his expression, making his cheeks bundle up. He made his way to the bed, sitting down next to the blonde and slowly began to rest his face onto the other’s shoulder.
As a half dragon, Kirishima could smell scents that were shallower, faster and sharper than any regular humans could, with or without magic. But to him, Katsuki’s scent didn’t feel small, or barely noticing, no. It was overpowering. Caramel, mostly burnt or warm depending on how much he used his magic, sweet, yet he always smelled masculine and strong. Even if the caramel scent felt like it was from a sweet shop, it always had an underlying natural smell to it, never once making Bakugo seem fragile or frail.
It was peaceful, they sat at the edge of the bed in each other’s embrace, soaking in the warmth of their bodies. Feeling each other.
It wasn’t necessary rare for the pair to have contact, but it wasn’t common either. Not only because of their hectic schedules and the need to always travel and train, but also because Kirishima would never want to impose on his friend. Touch to him was a reward, specially from Katsuki. He was the one Kirishima wanted to impress, to do his duties to, and to serve, no one else made him feel that way, not even his other dragons.
“So..” Kirishima started, the soft smile that was on his face only gleamed more by every soft and comforting second. “How was training the youngster’s?”
Katsuki scoffed, “it was fuckin’ hell. Those brats’s ears are clogged, it’s like screaming at brick walls.” Katsuki complained, his face showing annoyance, but he was truly right where he wanted to be. In his kingdom, training dragons or traveling with his own. Protecting. Sharing. His skin felt heated and warm just thinking about the community at which he was so gracefully invited into.
“Oh yeah?” Kirishima teased, tilting his head up to get a better view of Katsuki’s side profile, from where he was lazily resting his head on the blondes shoulder, still. “They look up to you, you know. It’s only been 6 years and it feels like all of their hearts have been gifted and trusted to you. That isn’t easy. Especially with the older dragons or ones that have soul flames.”
Soul-flame; a dragons mate/partner.
“Yeah.” Katsuki responded, the praise that easily left the dragons lips made the king flustered, in a way he would not admit easily.
There were a few minutes of tired silence. The day had been long for the both of them. And it was getting pretty late. Katsuki’s wood clock that was raised in front of his bed was ticking, every second that went by, the more the exhaustion crept through their bodies.
It was nice.
The night sky was a beautiful void, filled with stars that radiated the darkness. The air was crisp. There were no infiltrators such as monsters. There was only the king, and his most trusted creature; his crimson.
If only that moment could last longer. If only they could begin to go to bed and sleep soundly in the kings chamber, cuddling and grasping each others body heat.
But Kirishima’s ears twitched suddenly, and when he inhaled, he caught a whiff of smoke.
The dragon stood up instantly, alerted and tense. It left Katsuki confused for a split moment, the smell or sounds not catching up to him until a few seconds after, but when it did, panic began to seep through his eyes, his own body tensing as he got up and went straight to his bedrooms balcony.
He opened the balcony door, the cold wind instantly blowing onto him as he raced to the railing, trying to find out where the noises and smells were coming from.
Then, from the left, he spotted flames.
Red and powerful flames that were burning down trees and buildings.
The screams were loud, so loud he could hear it all the way from here.
He continued to scan the area, and there were dragons flying around, some looked young, the distressed signals they were sending to Katsuki were crashing into him.
Waves upon waves of fire.
It was spreading at a rate that seemed planned and disastrous.
The grip he had on the railing was making his knuckles go white.
This wasn’t just a war anymore, Endeavors kingdom wanted to end him. And fast.
However, surprise attacks alone are not enough to beat Bakugo Katsuki.
‘What the hell are they after??’ Katsuki thought to himself, his heart was pounding through his chest, his skin continuing to shift into a sickening pale.
Before he could think of anything else, his bedroom chamber bursted open by an adult dragon.
An emerald.
Fuck.
Katsuki turned around, his movements seemed calm and stern for how much his feelings were actually contradicting his actions.
“Lord, Dynamight. Endeavor’s kingdom sent out thousands of guards. Too many for our inexperienced dragons to handle. They are too anxious and scared to even think straight!” The elder dragon said, his voice was unsettling. Despite him keeping a cool and collected stance, just like Katsuki, there were obvious signs of uneasiness.
All of these dragon signals being sent to Katsuki all at once made his chest heavy. His whole body felt like it was slowly getting weaker by the intensity of it all.
”Were there any fuckin’ warnings?? Endeavor has never done these stupid surprise attacks before.”
“None. One second it was peaceful, and the next there were flames burning down a dragon temple and guards racing in. We have no idea what to do about this. They are burning down everything. Several dragons are severely injured and are fleeing. This isn’t just a small fight, they are aiming for something, possibly to destroy you or this kingdom.”
“Fuck. Fuck. Fuck!!” Katsuki roared, the anger taking over him, he raced to his nightstand, grabbing his red cape and easily pulling it over his shoulders whilst messily putting on his jewels back on.
Kirishima, followed behind him, every step he took, he mirrored. He was ready.
Kirishima looked back at the elder dragon and smiled, “Thank you for telling us. You should report to the young dragons to evacuate the kingdom, and to tell all of the experienced ones to try and help. Katsuki and I will be there shortly.”
Katsuki raced behind the emerald dragon and out his bedroom door, Kirishima obviously following him from behind. The pair ran down the corridor, through the several hallways, and finally found themselves at the entrance of the building.
The entrance of the castle was large and spacious. The middle of it had a beautiful red carpet, which went up a few steps and onto a platform, which was where Katsuki’s thrown sat, along with Kirishimas on the right.
They opened the door to the building, running away from it, and towards a big area of spacious grass, cut out to the shape of a circle, specifically made for Kirishima to transform. At that, Katsuki let out his command, “Eijrou, transform, now!”
Immediately, there was red smoke bursting through the dragon, whilst a white glow overtook his entire body as it grew in size and shifted into a dragon.
He was huge in his dragon form, of course. He let out a loud roar, which immediately made Katsuki smile confidently. Seeing Kirishima in his dragon state helped him become relaxed.
This was who his dragon partner was.
The red scales that flowed through his body, the two pairs of horns on the top of his head. The razor sharp claws. The long tail. He embodied Katsuki. He was perfect for him.
“Alright, Eijiro, kneel!” Katsuki yelled, the dragon immediately following command and lowering his body.
Because of that, it made it easier for Katsuki to climb up to the dragon and take ahold on one of the pairs of horns that he had.
“ Okay, Ei, you know what to do, slowly rise up for me.” Katsuki ordered, the wind making his hair blow side to side as the dragon lifted itself up.
“When you’re ready, fly!”, Katsuki squeezed his grip onto Kirishima’s rock hard horns, as he spread his wings wide and flew up. In just a few moments, they were soaring in the sky, heading straight to the fighting.
Only about a minute later, they were flown above the war zone, and it was horrific.
Swords were clashing against each other, blood was scattered against the rocky ground, and the humans that Katsuki ruled over were fighting with every ounce of strength that they had in them.
The fires were severe, it wasn’t just a temple, it was all the shops, most homes were destroyed, burnt to a crisp, fire surrounded the entire area, and it wouldn’t let up.
Katsuki needed to analyze the situation, and fast.
He forgot his strongest sword due to the lack of information he had before this all happened. He actually forgot to take any sword, so he had to grab one from the battlefield, that was mistake number one. The second mistake was not telling that elder dragon to get a mermaid or someone with the ability to use water magic to put out the fire. And the third mistake, was not preparing anyone for what to do in a crisis like this. It was his responsibility as ruler to have a plan for these types of circumstances, and he didn’t. And he was certainly paying the price for it.
Amongst the crowd, he saw dragon scales and wings.
Katsuki cursed.
Where Kirishima was in the air, Katsuki could easily jump down, and so he did.
His feet hit the ground with a large thump, and instantly he grabbed a sword that was on the ground.
He couldn’t use his explosion magic directly, it was too risky with how many of his own people were mixed in the crowd, but what he could do was insert his explosion magic into his sword, making every direct hit extremely powerful and effective.
It wouldn’t be as powerful as him using his magic directly from his palms, and because this was just a regular sword, he wouldn’t be able to inject as much energy into it, due to the lack of fine materials. But it’s better than nothing.
With the sword in his hand, and him only being on the ground for a few moments, the attention went on him, and in a mere second, knights and warriors rushed over to him, using all of their might.
Katsuki moved in a brash yet graceful elegance, his movements were sharp and clear.
Knights from behind him got slashed, the blood squirted out of their chest and onto the pavement. Knights that came from the front, had their heads decapitated with a blink of an eye.
But this wasn’t about skill or precision, it was about quantity. Katsuki could easily slay hundreds of people without batting an eye, but thousands? He could. But without a mistake? He could count himself dead. There was only so much time until his energy would fade out, and Kirishima couldn’t do anything. His fire is too strong. Kirishima is too inexperienced to guide himself when it comes to letting out precise flames. And Katsuki had no idea who was on his side and who wasn’t at the moment, to preoccupied with the army of people that were racing up to him to attack on every possible side.
If he even took a glimpse away from this battle, he would be done for.
And of course, it was at that moment, when screams from the opposite side of the battlefield erupted. From the corner of Katsuki’s eye he could see flames that weren’t just burning, it was rising. Rising higher than the flames that were surrounding himself.
“Fuck!!” He screamed, continuing to use his years of experience to slay every single person that came his way.
Kirishima roared, and flew towards the direction of the screaming and fire, which made Katsuki feel equally happy and anxious.
Something in his gut told him that, that was a mistake. Something in his gut told him that whatever was happening at the other end of the battle, would be something disruptive. And something told him, that he needed to defeat these enemies, and fast.
There was one particular solider that just wouldn’t let up, even when Katsuki would jab several indirect hits to his poorly protected body, he would keep going, and it was then that he realized, that the solider was speaking to him.
“You made a mistake there, Dynamight. Letting your dearest and only companion out himself into danger all by himself. Such a poor king.” He mocked, their swords clashing against each other for what felt like ages, until Katsuki shoved him off and slayed someone who was trying to sneak attack him.
He wouldn’t respond. He couldn’t, even if the words that were spilled from that warriors lips felt worse than any blade or magic hitting his body. He knew he couldn’t concentrate on those words. Because Kirishima needs him, his kingdom needs him.
It felt like ages, centuries, of recharging the sword with his explosion magic and slaying soldiers until he heard a loud ‘boom’ with a followed up scream, that sounded louder than any dragons roar.
“EVERYONE, WE SEIZED HIM, RETREAT!!! NOW!! I REPEAT, WE SEIZED HIM, RETREAT!!”
Katsuki’s mind was swirling, one second, he was turning and slashing around frantically to slay any and all people that came his way, and the next, the soldiers were running away as fast as they could to the direction.. the direction that Kirishima headed!!
Katsuki blinked, his face that was previously filled with confusion was now an expression of pure rage.
They did something to Kirishima, they must’ve gotten ahold of him, which Katsuki’s body with a sense of emptiness. They took the only person that truly cared for him. They took the only person who stood by his side.
While he ran, he made sure to slay every warrior he came across. He felt so slow, he felt stupid, and he felt frustrated.
When he made it to the opposite end of the battlefield, there were still many men standing, not nearly as many that were here from the beginning, but at least three hundred, all of them retreating onto carriages that left as soon as the right amount of people were on them.
However, when Katsuki scanned the entire place, he saw no trace of Kirishima. Not a sound, not a feeling, which means he was fucking far.
That was what was even more disturbing, he lost track of time, but it must have been a long damn time since Kirishima got captured if there were seriously no traces. Which means that this plan was made so well, that they fucking waited for at least 20 minutes after Kirishima got captured, to send out the message.
They sacrificed warriors. Endeavor sacrificed his own people, just to make this shit work.
That bastard of a man, sacrificed people who would do anything for him, just to get a dragon, Katsuki’s dragon.
”What the fuck did you guys do to my dragon?!” Katsuki yelled, holding his sword in front of him, prepared and ready to fight for his kingdom once more, even if he is exhausted.
Most of the knights laughed cockily in response, and all it did was make Katsuki feel even more infuriated, he felt all of his blood rush to face, and his ears began to ring, while his body started to shake.
“Endeavor was right, you guys really are trash.” A solider giggled, Katsuki could see him out his sword in a sack with 3 other weapons, and followed suite with protocol, entering the carriage with ease.
“Where the hell is my dragon.” Katsuki repeated, his voice and tone showed all of the emotions that the warriors wanted to see from him, he didn’t care.
“Where do you think? He’s already on his way to Endeavors kingdom. I hope you had some good last moments with him, it’s undeniable, he’s going to be dead by the time you get there, if you do have the confidence to even come.” Another warrior let out.
All Katsuki could see was red. The mockery. The shame. The stupidity he felt.
All these months, it had been quiet around the kingdom, there were barely any monsters that needed slaying, the weather had been easy to travel in, the young dragons were growing at a rapid pace. Food supply was on point, shops were soaring, any and all gatherings and parties did extraordinary well, it was perfect.
So perfect, Katsuki should’ve saw it coming.
And that was the issue with being young and not as experienced as someone like Endeavor. He was 20 years old, while Endeavor, being over twice his age, has been ruling since he was at least 15.
From the very start, he had a feud with Endeavor, they were in a prolonged war, and the world was entirely split. It was either you loved dragons and creatures, and wanted everyone to live together, or you despised dragons with your entire existence, and that’s why it’s been such a big quarrel. None of the sides refuse to let up, but for some reason, Katsuki practically forgot about Endeavor and their ongoing war. Everyone in his kingdom were living in harmony, very few enemies, and more people joined him as the weeks went on. And now, this is where he is left with.
Rage, on a battlefield, with no one on his side, but himself.
He let his kingdom down, he let himself down, he let his dragon down.
And all Katsuki could see was red.
“You sick fucks took my dragon?! You hate dragons that badly?! You’ll take my dragon?! You’ll sacrifice your own people just to kill a creature with wings and flames?!” Katsuki’s vision felt blurry, his insides felt scorching hot, and every single person that was in front of him, he had the burning urge to kill them all.
When no one responded, Katsuki charged in, just like previously he wanted nothing more than to destroy them, but only this time, he was uncoordinated, tired, and unable to think properly.
They took the only person he needed in life.
They took away everything from him.
All because Endeavor can’t think of anything else but himself, all because he can’t handle anyone else having power.
The swords were clashing once more, but more of his explosion magic was being exerted into the sword than what it could handle.
It was only a few more hits till it shattered in pieces, leaving an opening for someone to graze his arm.
He panted, he heaved, he felt his heart pound, it felt like it was ripping itself out from his chest.
He didn’t care about the sword shards falling onto the ground, he threw the handle and immediately started to use his explosion magic directly from his hands. It’s what he should’ve done from the start. But it was his duty as emperor to keep his people safe, and even if he failed at it, it doesn’t mean he should’ve been reckless before. And so, he’s using his magic now, with all his might, he killed off the knights that had the audacity not to run from him, to not listen to the warnings of the others who were telling them to run, that they couldn’t defeat him, because truly, they couldn’t.
“Fuck you!” He blasted, “I’ll get my damn dragon!”, He threw someone’s body on the ground, “DIE, DIE D-“ Something interrupted him.
That something was a sword, stabbing him, straight through his chest.
All Katsuki could see was white dots filling his brain. His ears felt like they were bursting out, his whole shook until he collapsed on the ground, stomach first, and once he was laid on the ground, like the rest of the dead soldiers, the sword was lifted out from where it was inside of him.
Surprisingly, nobody put a finger on him, they all scurried away and continued their retreating pursuit like before. Voices were inaudible to him. His hands lost all grip it had to the ground.
Everything felt heavy, especially his eyes, he couldn’t keep the open anymore, and that’s when everything when pitch black.
Enemies were gone. However, the aftermath was still there. The flames were still roaring, making the dark night seem so bright. Buildings were crumbled on the ground, along with many trees, statues were crumbled, and so were temples. Everything was burning. And soon, Katsuki would be too.
Who knew that a peaceful day would end with such a tragic night.
Katsuki didn’t.
But Endeavor sure did.
