“Are you in a lucid state this time?” A female voice asks, a figure staring at the floor while sitting in a chair. “Hmm. Appears not, though you seem to be listening well. Looks like we’ll have to speed this up and move to the field test now.”

The woman motions for the sitting figure to stand, the figure doing as instructed. The two leave the room, walking through the halls towards a doorway that looks over an expansive room. The woman puts a robe on the figure, a hood pulled over their head. The woman walks out of the hidden hallway and down a flight of stairs. As she stands and turns, she hears people running into the room.

“Excella!! Stop right where you are!!” Another woman instructs, drawing a pistol as a male stands beside her.

“Bravo you two, maybe there is some competent people left in the world.” Excella hums, clapping as she fully turns to face the two.

“Goddamn it, where the fuck is Leon?!” The male yells, stepping forward a couple paces.

“Maybe I’ll reveal his location to you…maybe I won’t.” Excella coos, the robed figure jumping from the railing and landing between the male and female.

The female raises his pistol again, her wrist grabbed and held firmly. The male raises his weapon and is immediately kicked in the chest, the figure spinning to kick the armed female in the shoulder. The figure has a mask on as well, the armed male firing and having the bullet hit the mask off. The male and female immediately open fire, the robed figure doing continuous backflips to escape the bullets. They land and hang their head, face obscured by the hood.

“Stop messing around Excella, we want clear answers!” The armed male yells from where he stands.

“It’s a shame Chris…you really haven’t changed from what I remember Albert telling me about. Last I heard he was at the Spencer Estate. Where is he now?” Excella taunts, walking closer to the robed figure. “I was expecting you to be happier to see such an old friend.”

“The hell do you mean an ‘old friend’?!” The armed female scoffs, watching Excella as she walks.

“Such a slow mind on you Chris…” Excella sighs, pulling the hood off of the figure.

Standing in front of Chris is someone he’s fought alongside of and who was one of the sole survivors of Raccoon City. His hair is a lot lighter, almost a pale blonde as he lifts his head and stares at Chris and his partner.

“…Leon…hey it’s Chris!” Chris yells, lowering his pistol and stepping forward.

“Are you sure? You told me he was a brunette.” Chris’ partner asks, stepping forward as well.

“The one and only.” Excella smiles, motioning towards Leon.

Leon pulls the robe off as he shifts his weight, easily jumping the maybe ten feet towards Chris and kicking him square in the chest. Chris can’t react fast enough, watching Leon change his trajectory mid air and place his feet on Chris’ chest before pushing off of Chris’ chest to flip to the side and land by Chris’ partner. She fires once as Leon is in the air, Leon landing and kicking her pistol out of her grip. The woman watches as Leon grabs her waist and flips to pin her head between his knees. She can’t move easily, soon flipped backwards and onto the ground by Leon. Chris manages to stand and get his bearings, Leon quick to disarm him and grab his neck. Chris’ partner manages to get to her feet, standing behind Leon with her pistol aimed at him. Leon kicks a leg back and knocks her off balance while still holding Chris’ neck. Chris manages to get free of Leon’s grasp, him and his partner aiming at Leon.

“I’ll leave you three alone to catch up. Do try not to beat them immediately Kennedy, Redfield may prove to be useful in the next steps.” Excella explains, leaving the room as Leon stares at Chris and his partner.

“What do we do?” Chris’ partner asks, still aiming at Leon.

“In all honesty Sheva, I have no clue. We have no backup, it’s just the two of us. Maybe we can overpower him, it’s two against one.” Chris suggests, Leon watching the two of them intently.

“He already almost knocked you out once by himself, I think he can do it again. What about Jill?” Sheva questions, looking from Chris to Leon.

“Still on her way, same with whoever else decided to join her. Helicopters aren’t air motorcycles, they aren’t that fast. Plus it’s a long way to tra-“ Chris starts, Leon dashing forward and grabbing Chris by the straps of his back harness.

Sheva watches as Leon very easily throws Chris across the room, Chris landing on the floor and rolling a couple times. Leon turns to Sheva, running at her as she fires. Chris watches as Leon moves out of the way of every shot, having seen it in recorded practice footage of someone on the team.

“SHEVA! He moves like Wesker’s practice footage.” Chris yells as he gets to his feet and runs towards Leon.

“Oh great, two trained soldiers with super human reaction timing!” Sheva groans, her belt grabbed as she’s thrown onto the second story of the room.

“Hey, we have one on our side!” Chris responds, drawing his knife as Leon turns.

The two are quick to enter hand to hand combat, Leon matching Chris’ every move when exact precision. Sheva watches from the second floor, firing at Leon. Leon notices and pivots, Sheva’s firing just barely missing Chris.

“I’m not blonde!!” Chris yells, hearing the bullet hit the brick near his feet.

“He keeps moving!” Sheva groans, running down the stairs.

Leon shoves Chris away, running up the stairs. Chris and Sheva immediately react, running after him.

“Leon Kennedy don’t you dare leave me!!” Chris yells, Leon stumbling to a stop.

“…Chris?” Leon asks, the first word spoken the entire time the three have been fighting.

Sheva and Chris stop as well, watching Leon stare at the two of them before his expression twists into one of pain.

“Interesting. I guess one can still resist at this advanced of a stage.” Excella coos, appearing from an elevator. “A commendable effort I must say…I hope you enjoy watching Leon suffer, I have other work to attend to.”

Chris stands and steps closer to the elevator as Excella reaches and presses a button.

“What the hell did you do to him?!” Chris yells, the elevator doors sliding shut.

Chris turns when he hears pained yelling from Leon as he kneels on the floor. Leon sits up a little and grabs at the zipper on the front of the bodysuit he’s wearing. He pulls for a moment before the zipper teeth start to  come unaligned and open. On his chest is some sort of red gem to Sheva and Chris, though it looks like it’s piercing Leon’s skin and there are a few small pipe like features as well.

“Fuck, looks like the lucidity is gone. We need to get that thing off of his chest.” Chris explains, him and Sheva backing up when Leon snaps his head to look at them.

“How? Neither of us can get close enough to even make contact with him.” Sheva responds, the two backing down the stairs as Leon follows.

Chris looks at his watch, seeing a notification that someone on the team is approaching rather quickly.

“We buy time for now.” Chris admits, Sheva groaning at the answer.

“Fine, we buy time. Whoever or whatever we’re waiting on had better be worth it.” Sheva agrees, still aiming at Leon.

Leon dashes forward, him and Sheva locked in combat as Chris jogs towards the main door of the room. He pushes it open, hearing boots scuffling on the brick floor behind him. Chris keeps an eye on the hallway, his hopes dropping a little when he sees Jill.

“Anyone else with you?” Chris asks, Jill nodding with a smile.

“He’s making an entrance.” Jill teases, watching Leon pick Sheva up before suplexing her.

Right before Leon can fully bend, someone runs into the room and kicks him. They catch Sheva as Leon slams into a wall, setting Sheva on her feet.

“Told you, entrance.” Jill smiles, Chris rolling her eyes.

“What’s that thing on his chest?” Chris asks, looking at the new figure.

“…P30, it’s an experimental drug meant for soldiers. It grants the user abilities similar to mine. The only issue is that the user needs a continuous supply, hence the pump on your friend’s chest.” The figure explains, Chris looking him up and down.

“Where is your vest?!” Chris yells, Leon getting his bearings from being kicked so aggressively.

“It hinders my mobility, we’ve gone over this Chris. Plus the clothes I wear are woven with Kevlar if I do get shot at.” The figure sighs, Chris dropping the subject temporarily.

“For now we need to get the pump off of Leon’s chest. We need someone to hold him and someone to pull.” Jill interjects, Leon back on his feet as he looks at the group.

“I can hold him, you all need to get his attention. Keep his focus moving, the more things he’s monitoring, the easier time I’ll have getting him restrained.” The figure states, rolling up their sleeves.

“Deal, we all have our assignments. Let’s get going.” Chris smiles, running forward with Sheva and Jill.

The figure stays near the sidelines, watching for an opening to grab Leon. An opening soon presents itself, Leon’s arms pinned as Chris pulls at the item on Leon’s chest. He manages to make a bit of progress, hesitating a little since he doesn’t want to outright hurt Leon.

“For fucks sake Chris, he can’t feel pain right now, he’s not lucid!!” The figure yells, Chris swallowing the lump in his throat.

The next time Leon is restrained, Chris puts more effort into pulling, making more progress than the first time. It takes multiple attempts before Chris manages to pull the pump free. The figure lets go on Leon, who stumbles left and right for a moment before collapsing onto the ground. Chris is quick to kneel down and check for a pulse, nodding as he picks Leon up.

“What about Excella?” Sheva asks, Chris walking to leave the room.

“That’s a problem for another assignment, we need to get Leon actual care.” Chris explains, the group following him out of the room.

“Wesker…you coming?” Jill hums, seeing that the figure is staring at the elevator doors.

“…I am. Though I believe it’s a poor choice to be leaving the facility without Excella in our possession.” Wesker states, leaving the room with Jill.

“I agree with you, but this is the best friend of Chris’ sister. So to Chris, this is the most important thing.” Jill adds, Wesker humming in understanding.

“I can’t say I share the same sentiment about Kennedy, but he did survive Raccoon City so I believe he is a capable agent.”

“He was trained by STRATCOM and was on route to be part of the DSO. I’m sure they’ll still take him after he recovers.”

“Who in STRATCOM trained him?”

“Mmmm…I’m not sure. That’s a question for him or Chris.”

“A valid point.”
