Chapter Text
The Dragon of Mondstadt had been sensing some strange abyssal energy lingering around the nation which was quite annoying.
Of course Barbatos also noticed and dealt with it quietly sometimes bringing him to help, that wasn't much of a bother for the man since it could mean he'd spend much more time with the God.
Though this day was unexpected...
As always Dvalin was patrolling per the Archon's request, easily so persuaded by the relentless Barbatos he agreed and glided throughout the wind.
He noticed the young dragon hanging out with the young pup and the troublesome elf but in a blink of an eye a portal corrupted with abyssal energy appeared and sucked in the boy.
It happening so quickly he failed to react fast and notice that there was another portal that sucked him infront.
And entering the hole he can feel his consciousness slowly disappearing and blacked out.
The Hydro Sovereign was having one of his daily walks in the forest, enjoying the beautiful scenery of the water that glimmers under the sun.
Truth be told he had been noticing black abyssal holes showing up and throwing up monsters which wasn't that hard to deal with but the problem was the sheer numbers.
Thankfully the number of abyssal portals lessened and the Adventurers Guild had managed to take a rest which was well deserved.
But one say no one is prepared and suddenly said hole had appeared right under him and he fell so quickly that he failed to react.
All Three heard the same thing:
‘O, thee guided by the Dark Mirror,
Follow thy heart's desire
and take the hand of the one reflected in the mirror.’
‘Huh? What is this confined space?' Dvalin thought, reaching out to try and push what looks like to be the exit.
But he noticed something very strange other than the fact he was able to fit in such a small jail, He had a human body.
‘What the? I'm human…? Oh right.’ Ignoring the slight confusion, he probably should have focus on the fact of how he is gonna leave the box.
But suddenly it was opened; Why hadn’t he heard the sound of it being opened? there revealed a strange man who smelled like a fae.
“How benevolent of you to stay patient while we open the lid young man! Now let's get you out!” The fae put the lid aside and he exited it and looking back it was a box in the shape of a coffin? There on the side was…. Durin! And another person, but he sensed that he was also from Teyvat, just not a normal ‘human' being.
“Mr Dvalin!” The kid lightened up and walk over, hands clasped together as he checked if I was alright.
“I am rather fine, Child. Now where are we?” He looked around and finally noticed a large amount of human children dressed in robes that looked like it belong to a cult.
“I…. don't know, sorry..” He bowed his head down as if ashamed. “Do not say such a thing, stand high.” He did as ordered.
“Seems like you two gentlemen know each other! But introductions is needed, Welcome to Night Raven College! An exclusive acadamia for young inspiring mages to study in!” He yelled.
“And I'm yours truly Crowley, the Headmaster of NRC!” The man had the thing for theatrics for sure.
“You three are the only ones left who has yet to be sorted into a dorm.” The both of us looked the man with confusion.
“Excuse me, Monsieur. But are you sure you are not mistaken?” The previously quiet man had finally spoken up, now that I notice it… He was also wearing the robes, he and the youngin too.
“Pardon?” The Crowley guy said with a smile of confusion.
“I have no recollection of me entering a College, more or less since I only remember myself falling inside a hole.” He crossed his arms.
“What makes you say that Child? NRC is a prestigious school that is only available to those who are invited. And for how I recall, our only mode of transportation to here is a black carriage.” Me and Durin looked at each other.
“Us aswell, Me and this young one were just going on with our day when the both of us were too sucked in by a portal.” The students started murmuring against eachother while the Headmaster stood quietly for a second.
“Are you sure?” “Affirmative.” The man behind them spoke up instead.
“Well then, I am not sure if I believe such words but let's ask the mirror so you all could be home safely, I am the most kind afterall!” He is a bit arrogant… But nonetheless us three just followed the man while the students whisper among themselves such as:
‘How could this be?’ ‘Yeah no way it's an error!’ ‘This is absurd.’ ‘Are they serious?’
He ignored it and looked at the mirror with a face. “The Magic Mirror shall help you with this, Now state the place of your home.”
The man went first: “I reside in the Nation of Fontaine that belongs in Teyvat.” So he really was the same as them.
Then we followed: “Me and Durin live in the Nation of Mondstadt which also places in Teyvat “
The Mirror replied none, the headmage coughed, “All mighty Mirror—”
“This place you speak of is somewhere afar even I can't reach.
Though it is possible, it seems to be closed off by an unknown force.
So unfortunately, I cannot send these beings back to their respective places or in other words, ‘world'.”
Gasps across the room can be heard as the three of us had an expression to that of confusion.
“How could that be—?!” Crowley said with such shock, It seems like nothing had happened akin to our situation.
“So does that mean we have to stay here for the meantime?” Durin spoke up, head tilted.
“I'm afraid so, But since this school is only privy to people with magic we shall sort you into a dorm to see if you possess magic prowess.”He put his hands on both of his hips as he explained.
“For you to do so, Just stand in the mirror like earlier and state your name, and then you will be sorted into a dorm fitting of your soul”
How strange, a mirror that sees a person’s soul to sort based on what it means? I see….
“Go ahead young one.” I gently pushed him in front of the mirror and he flinched a bit but then calmed.
“State thy name”
“Durin And— uhm Kreideprinz” Instead of his mother's last name he picked the one Albedo uses.
“Your soul shows that of an aspiring young dragon, power beffiting to that of top 5 mages, but alas you too have limits. DIASOMNIA!
A dorm that has been built after the great Thorn Fairy.”
“A dragon?! No way! Isn't the heir of Briar Valley one of the few last Dragon Fae?” A student yelled aloud, Durin looked nervous, so I came up and put a shoulder to calm him down.
‘So dragons are a big deal here huh?’ “It seems to be my turn, kindly step aside child” He scooted over.
“State thy name”
“Dvalin.” Were they even worthy to know of his name?
“Oh my, Your soul is that of someone Who has lived for millennials, a Dragon experienced in life.
Magic prowess also in line for top mages, Beffiting to the dorm of Diasomnia!”
Thus the crowd also erupted, it is unimaginable that a dragon who whatsoever had no connection to the Draconias is also here.
I stepped aside for the other man to also speak, he's a quiet one isn't he?
“State thy name”
“Neuvillete, No last name whatsoever.” Ah so that was he seemed familiar, The Hydro Sovereign of Fontaine.
“What a surprise! Another Dragon has blessed us, Likewise of the last two.
He is also has the magical power to be a top mage.
Your Soul holds much authority and filled with a need for justice.
Your presence is befitting of the dorm Heartslabyul! A Dorm strict and true to the laws upheld by the Queen of Hearts.”
As if the room wasn't the much loud before it went louder then again.
“What a shocking revelation! The presence of three dragons is unheard of! But unfortunately since the ceremony is finally done it is time for you to go and follow your dormheads.” Crowley coughed and announced the end of the ceremony.
“Alright you two! You are definitely fit for Diasomnia hehe, I have the feeling you'll be great companions to Malleus. Freshmans that was sorted into Diasomnia follow me! I am Lilia Vanrouge the Vice Housewarden of your dorm!”
He let out a wink and led the students, most of them are fae and that strange one too, Holding the hands of Durin we quietly followed as the other man was left alone.
The Two left and I just went ahead to find the dorm with the Name Heartslabyul. Looking around I noticed someone walking behind me.
“You must hurry or else you will get lost, frosh.” It was kid no smaller than him with a ridiculous attire.
“Ah Apologies, are you perhaps the Dormhead of Heartslabyul?”
“Yes I am, Now follow me. Lest you get left behind.” He turned around and screamed for the other freshmen to follow him which he too obeyed.
‘I suppose I shall be the judge for how they honor the laws. Right now the only focus is to talk with those two later to discuss our predicament.’ He walked quietly, leaving g his thoughts behind.
