"Injured during a undercover raid"
That was all anyone was saying about Carisi and Holmes just had to sit with his colleagues and act as normal as he possibly can be in a situation like this, despite how badly his legs were bouncing under the table.
Why hadn't Rollins called him? She knew about the two of them, she was one of the first people Carisi told so why the hell hasn't she called him?
Calhoun slid down into the chair next to him, placing a black coffee in front of him as she took a sip from her own coffee cup. Barba had already gotten his drink and both Stone and Langan had to leave early for despositions and arraignments respectively.
"Are you doing okay?" Calhoun asked, watching as Holmes watched his coffee swirl before taking the first sip, a grunt escaping his lip as the bitter liquid fell down.
"Something has to be wrong, right? He would have called if he was fine, he always calls."
Calhoun and Barba exchanged a look as Barba sighed, adjusting his tie and letting out a soft cough.
"Holmes, Carisi is probably fine but to be honest with you, he should not have been in the field anyways."
Holmes sighed, nodding slowly.
"I know, it's just- I think Carisi forgets he's an A.d.a now, not a detective."
Calhoun and Barba nodded.
"Makes sense, he had spent years of his life with a badge and gun, must be difficult to change after so long." Calhoun shrugged out, bringing her coffee back up close as she mumbled into the lid. "Still shouldn't be in the field though."
Holmes pressed his fingers to his temples, a somewhat annoyed and tired sigh escaping him as he slowly pulled out his phone, staring down at all his attempts to call Rollins, Sonny and even an attempt to call Benson which had gone unanswered.
"I'm going to Svu." He announced, standing up suddenly and taking a large chug of his coffee before crushing the cup in his hands, moving towards the trash to throw it away. Calhoun and Barba were quick to stand up after him, watching as he undid his tie, wiped his brow and headed straight to the exit,
Calhoun folded her arms as the two of them watched him turn sharply and leave the building.
"We're going to follow him, aren't we?" Barba asked and Calhoun quickly nodded.
"Oh most definitely." She said, grabbing her coat off the back of her chair and walking with quick steps as Barba joined her rapid steps, the two of them walking together to join Holmes at the station.
Holmes had found a taxi rather quickly, jumped in as soon as humanly possible and given the directions to Svu with his breathing becoming faster and more harsh as more time passed. It didn't help his anxiety which continued to rise with every passing minute so by the time they reached Svu, Holmes practically threw his money at the driver before jumping onto the street, his feet moving faster than they had ever moved before and his hands pushing onto the door at Svu front.
He knew he looked a mess, especially with how some uniforms were looking at him but he didn't care, he had to find his Sonny.
Pushing into the main desks in the Station, he noticed Tutuola first, sitting at his desk and putting the phone down as they locked eyes. He stood up, eyebrow raised as he slowly moved towards the lawyer,
"Holmes, everything alright?" He asked, getting a slight shake from Isaiah.
"No, not really? I was told Carisi was injured in the field, which hospital is he at?"
Fin's eyebrows knit together in confusion.
"Hospital? He's not at the hospital?"
Holmes' eyes lit up slightly, his voice becoming less shaky as he spoke.
"He's not? Where is he then, he hasn't been answering my calls."
Fin pointed towards the cells that laid out in the open and as Isaiah followed his finger, his eyes locked on a man who sat in that holding cell next to criminals, wearing jeans and a leather jacket and sporting a deep bruised eye.
Sonny.
Holmes sighed, turning back to Fin.
"Why is he in holding? What happened?"
Tutuola put his hands in his pockets.
"Decided to go undercover but didn't realise a certain Lieutenant Murphy was already in deep, gave Sonny quite the shiner."
Holmes sighed, shaking his head,
"Alright but why is he still in holding? You should've got him out as soon as possible. He's a victim here." A few uniforms turned around at the sound of Isaiah's voice, he hadn't realise how loud he had gotten with his words.
Fin sighed, nodding.
"I'll tell Carisi his lawyer's here, go to interrogation two and I'll let you two talk, alright lover boy?"
Holmes felt flushed for a second before he nodded, making his way to a room he knew all too well as he passed by many officers before landing in the cold harsh room. Somehow, it felt smaller than it had ever been before.
After three minutes, Carisi entered, Fin following for a second before he nodded towards Holmes.
"I'll give you two some time to talk."
Fin closed the door quickly, not locking it as the two lawyers sighed, staring at one another as Holmes moved towards his Sonny, his fingers moving towards his bruised face as Carisi hissed at the small amount of pressure.
"I'm going to sue Lieutenant Murphy into bankruptcy." Isaiah whispered but Carisi just shook his head,
"He was just doing his job."
"By using excessive force on who he thought was a suspect?" Sonny didn't have a way of answering that question, Isaiah sighed, moving his fingers down until they wrapped around Sonny's hands. "I was so worried about you." He whispered and Carisi smiled.
"Yeah I saw, how many times did you try calling Amanda, eight?"
"Nine and I tried Benson as well."
Carisi let out a soft chuckle.
"Of course you did." The smile that laid on his face continued to stay as he squeezed his fingers in Isaiah's palms. "You don't have to worry about me, Isaiah, I know how to handle myself."
"I know but I just need one thing from you."
Carisi nodded.
"Anything."
"No more going into the field, you're an A.d.a now, not a detective, okay?"
Carisi hummed with a soft smile still plastered on his features.
"Okay then." He softly whispered, their eyes locked together as they both moved forward, moving closer and closer until no space was left for their lips and they met in one gentle touch.
Their hands moved to each other's waists, holding each other as tightly as they could, Isaiah holding onto Sonny the most tightly, as if letting go of his hold would get rid of him forever. They kissed as if they needed it to live, Isaiah being as careful as possible to not touch the bruise but still keeping the passion flowing with each touch.
They probably would have continued like this for a long while if it hadn't been for the door to the interrogation swinging open, causing the two of them to jump from one another, their grips on each other separating suddenly as they both breathed in heavily. Their eyes moved as they saw Rollins standing by the door, watching the two of them with a Slightly Smug look on her face.
"You done, A.d.a?" She asked, crossing her arms.
"Not yet, I want my client released." He told her, an arm wrapping around one of Carisi's shoulders.
She nodded.
"Consider it done." She went to leave before turning back, looking at Holmes. "Oh and by the way, Calhoun and Barba are waiting for you in the bullpen." And with that she left.
It was quiet for a moment before soft laughter began to leave from Sonny's lips, turning into soft chuckles.
"You brought Calhoun and Barba with you?" He asked in an almost joking matter.
"No, they must have followed me here."
Sonny nodded.
"Oh sure." He said, almost it sounded more like a teasing statement than being truly believed.
"Let's just go out through the back exit." He quickly let out but Sonny shook his head, wrapping his own arm around Isaiah as he smiled.
"Oh, there's no way you're getting out of this, c'mon, let's go."
And although Isaiah really did not want to deal with the possible teasing that would come from seeing Calhoun and Barba again, watching the bright smile on Sonny's face made his heart sing.
Sure, he was definitely going to have a word with this Lieutenant Murphy as soon as he finds him but right now, at this moment, he was just happy that Sonny was with him in each other's arms as Sonny calls over to their colleagues.
His Sonny.
Isaiah laughed internally to his own mind.
Oh he was completely infatuated with him.
