Work Text:

Till stares at the fifteenth pregnancy test in disbelief.

2 lines. Again. Positive.

There’s no denying it now. Till is unequivocally, undoubtedly, pregnant.

He slumps against the bathroom wall and lets out a groan. How could he let this happen? He's diligent with his birth control and always ensures Ivan uses condoms despite his many protests. He distinctly remembers Ivan's temper tantrum the last time they had had sex.

‘Come onnnn Till, it always feels better when I finish inside you,’ Ivan whines, fisting the blankets.

A wicked grin spreads across his face.

‘And I know you love it t- Oof!’

Till had smacked him in the face with the pillow and thrown the condom wrapper at his head, and that was that. Ivan tearily put on the condom with no further protest, and they spent the rest of the night in passionate bliss.

Till scoffs in recollection. A baby? He's already got one big baby waiting at home for him. A baby with stupid bug eyes and an unfairly pretty face and… Till's gaze drifts to his stomach. What would Ivan's baby look like? Would it be just as cute as him when they were kids?

‘Hmmmm’ Till ponders, ‘I hope the baby looks like Ivan…’

...

Wait, what?

He turns a deep shade of red and shakes his head furiously, slipping out of his daze.

Seriously what the hell is he thinking?

He feels conflicted now. Does he really want to have a baby with Ivan? Till knows better than anyone how stubborn and irritating he can be at times. But he also knows that Ivan can be loving and responsible, and that he would fully support Till no matter his decision. Yes, Till thinks, there's no doubt about that.

He needs a second opinion. Maybe a third.

                                                                                                                                             ─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──

The door of the diner jingles as Till steps through. 70’s music is playing from a jukebox in the corner as the disco ball in the centre washes the tables in glitter. Of course Mizi would pick somewhere like this in response to Till's ‘Helpppppp!!!!!! Serious convo rnnnnn😭’ text last night. As he laughs internally, he suddenly feels a piercing gaze on him from behind. Whipping his head around, however, only reveals a stranger completely engrossed in his phone. Am I being paranoid? As he glances over the booths, he can't help feeling like everyone's eyes are on him. Can they… can they smell my pheromones? Can they tell I'm pregnant? Fuck, I hate this alread-

‘Over here, Till!’

Till snaps out of his spiral and looks over to where Mizi is excitedly waving at him from the booth she'd picked out. Jesus, he really needs to calm the fuck down if he's going to approach this situation with a level head.

He sinks into the plush cushion as Mizi enthusiastically greets him and Sua gives him a curt nod.

‘What did you want to talk about, Till?’

Mizi practically leans over the table in interest, contrasting Sua, who looks like she'd rather be anywhere but here.

Till takes a deep breath, although he's so nervous he might throw up.

‘I have some news.’

‘Did you fight with Ivan again?’ Sua replies in the most monotonous voice he's ever heard, leaning into Mizi to wrap her arms around her waist.

Mizi lets out a dramatic gasp. ‘Well that certainly won't do! Don't worry though Till, arguments in the first stages of a relationship are expected.’

‘...huh?’ Is Till hearing this right? Has years of Ivan's bullshit finally broken his ears? Mizi and Sua don't know about their relationship.

Sua rolls her eyes and laughs, but not unkindly.

‘Whatever it is, just apologise and make out with him. I'm sure that's enough for Ivan.’

‘Yeah!’ Mizi tacks on, eyes radiant. ‘Or if you're having trouble in the bedroom I could recommend you some products-’

‘WOAH, WOAH, WOAH’ Till interrupts, face flushed and arms waving wildly in the air.

‘We never told you guys we were dating?’

Sua and Mizi shoot each other a look that Till instantly reads as ‘Is this guy fucking stupid?’

‘Well…’ Sua drawls, ‘It was kinda obvious.’

‘Yeah Till,’ Mizi averts her eyes, looking apologetic, ‘Sorry to burst your bubble.’

He seriously cannot believe this. They knew? This whole time? Well… whatever - he's got bigger fish to fry right now.

‘Okay I don't think it was that obvious (lie), but the important thing is that… I'm carrying his baby.’

Mizi and Sua go silent. There's a pregnant pause (no pun intended) as they stare at Till, then at each other, then back at Till again in terrifying synchronicity. One would think they rehearsed this beforehand. Till wonders if he should announce April fools, despite it being October, until Mizi squeals so loudly half the restaurant turns round to look at them and bounces in her seat.

‘CONGRATULATIONS TILL!’

She dashes around the table to Till's booth and hugs him so tightly he almost stops breathing.

Sua breaks out into a rare genuine smile.

‘Congratulations.’

‘Thanks guys… but I still don't know what to do.’

Oh I dunno,’ Sua replies sarcastically, all positive emotion gone in an instant, ‘Maybe… tell the father of your child?’

Mizi agreed enthusiastically. ‘Ivan and I have been best friends for so long, I know Ivan's a good guy. I'm sure he'd understand.’

Till nodded, his worries slightly eased, although the uncomfortable, tight feeling in his chest still remained.

‘And if he doesn't?’

Sua gestured towards Till's phone.

‘Only one way to find out.’

He sighs, picks up his phone and calls Ivan.

‘We need to talk.’

                                                                                                                                                 ── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──

An hour later, he raps on the front door of Ivan's apartment. Immediately, as if he was hovering behind the door waiting for him, Ivan pulls the door open with an apprehensive look on his face. Till pushes past him and walks to where the fridge is, grabbing a beer out of habit.

Ivan shuffles behind him quietly. ‘Till? What's going on?’

Normally he'd be all over him by now, so it seems even an irritating idiot like Ivan had picked up on the serious mood.

‘Just sit down for now.’

Till glanced at the beer in his hand and, on second thought, placed it back in the fridge. Ivan was practically vibrating out of his seat and Till had to bite back a laugh at his face. He looked like he was about to shit himself. Be serious Till, he reprimanded himself and sat on the armchair nearest the TV.

‘We need to discuss something important.’

Ivan’s face took on a deathly pallor.

‘Are you breaking up with me?’

Ivan rapidly scrambles for the scissors on the coffee table and holds it to his neck with a trembling hand, dropping to his knees.

‘If you break up with me, I'll kill myself.’

Is this seriously the guy I'm gonna have a baby with?

‘I'm not breaking up with you Ivan, so you can stop that.’ Till sighs.

Ivan lets out a breath in relief and a wobbly smile immediately emerges on his face. He crawls over to where Till is seated, resting his head on his lap.

‘You're pathetic, you know that right?’ Till sighs as he strokes Ivan’s hair.

‘You can call me whatever you want Till,’ Ivan simpers. ‘As long as I'm yours.’

Till can't deny that Ivan is unbearably adorable like this. He lets out a huff as all his irritation immediately melts away at the sight of those big teary eyes.

‘Now are you gonna shut up and listen or do I need to get the muzzle?’

‘Well I wouldn't say no to that…’

‘IVAN’

‘Alright, alright, I'll listen,’ Ivan pouts.

Till ponders, not for the first time, if he might've made the biggest mistake of his life.

Ah, fuck it.

‘I'm pregnant.’

Ivan stills and for a moment Till can't read his expression. The clock ticks, the sound jarringly loud in the silent apartment, and those 10 seconds that Ivan doesn’t speak feels like years. It feels irrational at this stage, but he can’t help but worry if he’s drastically misjudged Ivan’s character. He knows him inside and out - but what if this is something he can’t take? The regret begins to seep into his bones, and he opens his mouth to take it back, before what they have is ruined forever. His inner turmoil is eased, however, when Ivan's face lights up with the brightness of a thousand suns and breaks out into the biggest, widest grin he's ever seen.

Suddenly Till's vision goes blurry as he's lifted into the air by Ivan and spun around.

‘You're really pregnant?’

‘Yes dummy, now put me - woah!’

Till is forced to wrap his legs around him to ensure he doesn't fall down as Ivan hoists him further up, hands under his ass, to give him a big sloppy kiss on his stomach.

‘Ew. Ivan get off.’ Till pounds Ivan's shoulders with clenched fists to no avail.

‘No!’ Ivan beams, ‘Because you're pregnant!’

His eyes fill with glistening tears threatening to spill over.

‘You're really pregnant with our baby…’ He repeats, his face a mixture of awe and excitement. ‘I'm gonna make you so happy Till - you, me and our baby.’

Ivan's excitement is contagious, and Till can't help grinning in reply. ‘We'll be a happy little family for sure.’

Things may have been rocky at the start, but Till knows as long as he has Ivan by his side they'll be happy. Now he just has to figure out how to break the news to his mom.

                                                                                                                                                   ── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──

It takes 30 minutes of Till trying to extricate himself from Ivan until he finally manages to make it out the door. He hovers on the doorstep, as Ivan stares at with an expression akin to a kicked puppy, and finally leaves with a promise that he'll be here tomorrow to properly sort things out. As his footsteps fade from the door, Ivan sinks his head into his hands, unable to resist maniacally grinning.

He did it. He really did it.

Swapping out Till's birth control hadn’t been easy. One of the downsides of messing with Till for years was that he was more vigilant when it came to him, in order to prevent his antics. He'd had to pay someone to make the mints look exactly like his pills. Poking holes in his condoms had been easy enough, and although Ivan worried Till might suspect something with their heat and rut overlapping, Till's so easy during his heat. It's like all those prickly walls melt away and all that's left is that gorgeous boy begging.

‘Alpha, come fill me up’

‘Let's make lots of little pups together’

Ivan giggles at the thought of his potential pups. I hope they look like him. Now that Till is having this baby with him, he really can't leave even if he wanted to. They're going to be together.

Forever.
