Chapter 1: He's gone, shes gone

Chapter Text

[Redacted] sits down on the concrete, laying her head in her hands as she silently cries. [Redacted] didnt think he would actually do it, but he did. He did and he can't come back. He's gone. [Redacted] knows this, yet refuses to accept it. Her best friend is gone. Dead. That was the one thing he wanted to be, and so it was. [Redacted] passed out on the concrete sidewalk that night. Couldn't bring herself to go back home. Her brother was dead. Her mom would blame her the second she got home and she knew it. [Redacted] doesn't wake up until 10pm the next day. She walks home. At home she doesn't wanna confront her mom. Maybe she should run away. Live with her teacher. Or maybe even live alone. [Redacted] tries sneaking through the front door, where her mom was waiting. "Why the fuck are you home so late? And I dont wanna hear your fucking sob story about how you were 'mourning' your brother. You two were always fighting so you dont get to use his death as an excuse to be lazy and sad." [Redacted] doesn't answer. Instead, she goes upstairs, locks her door, and starts packing a bag. She reaches under her mattress and pulls out some money, $98 to be exact. She knows its not alot, but it'll be enough to buy food and drinks for about 6 months if she's careful and only buys what she absolutely needs. After that, however, she'll need to find a job. Lucky [Redacted] is 16 so there is some options, like the local café downtown that she does her homework at. She saw on a poster that they were hiring. Next she grabs her charger, phone, bandaids, comfy clothes, warm clothes, cold clothes, a lighter, scissors, waterbottle, snacks (so that she can save money on food), and her pocketknife she got in 5th grade from [Redacted 2]. Once everything is packed she slides open her window and climbs out onto the roof. Now, [Redacted]'s room is on the second floor, but lucky its grass at the bottom. [Redacted] climbs down the roof and let's go, dropping down onto the grass. Once on the ground, she starts walking towards downtown. On the bright side, she doesn't look (or smell) homeless yet because she had taken a shower the night before and had new clothes on.
