Chapter 1: I think I'm inlove!

Chapter Text

In the vast city of Robloxia, there existed a very famous pizzeria, named The Builder Brother’s Pizza, or often referred to as the BBP, many loyal customers always targeted it, it was known for its cleanliness, for its delicious pizza and most importantly, its very lovely staff, among the staff was the son of the owner of the pizza place himself, Elliot, a cheerful young man who absolutely adores his job, nice to every customer, always wearing that warm smile on his face.

Now, Elliot was probably one of the few who kept BBP afloat, taking up job positions like pizza delivery, the cashier, the cook, and so on; it sounds stressful to some. But it’s Elliot’s greatest joy, being able to serve customers with an infectious smile that cured any sad individual.

“Thank you for shopping at Builder Brother’s Pizza. Your total will be uuhh.” Elliot glanced at the receipt. “10,68$! Would you like to pay with cash or card?” said the blonde man with a cheerful voice and a bright smile.

The customer stared at the cashier with a wide-eyed expression, their cheeks reddening at the sight of the cheerful Robloxian, their heart leaping in their chest. Could this… be love?

The customer stood out like a sore thumb; they looked like they belonged in luxury, with a black fedora and a matching well-tailored suit, shades covering their eyes, grey skin and silky long ash grey hair tied in a low ponytail. This was Chance, a very well-known gambler, a rich and spoiled prick, entitled even, but Elliot didn't seem to know who he was.

“I…uhm…err…” the rich gambler stuttered, face red, mesmerized by this good-looking cashier.

“Mister? Is there a problem?” Elliot questioned politely.

“No…not at all.” Chance averts their gaze shyly, pulling out their wallet and slamming a $ 20 bill down on the counter. They grabbed their pizza and walked away. “Keep the change…” they said in a very quiet tone.

Elliot stared down at the money on the counter, weirded out by the behavior of this customer, but hey! Extra cash in this economy? Hell yeah.

Once outside, Chance was all red-faced, their hands shaking. Why were they overreacting so much? They've seen handsome men and pretty women before, so why is it different now? What was it in that cashier that made Chance feel a very strong emotion of love, one that makes them want to spend the rest of their life with this pizza worker?

Their mind replayed the kind way the cashier smiled at him; he looked like he was almost shining. He was adorable and sweet and happy and…

Wait, this could just be admiration, chance! You’ve had crushes before, but you grew out of them! They smack their cheeks with both hands twice, trying to recollect their thoughts. Why were they being so dramatic about this? They came here for pizza, for God’s sake!

Back in the pizzeria, Elliot kept working as usual, already forgot about that weird customer, chance was looking through the window, stalking the blonde man slightly, they definitely got weird looks from passing by robloxians, taking a good look at the cashier, taking in the sight of his soft hair, his yellow skin resembling the sunshine, his dark eyes, the way his red uniform hugged his body perfectly. Chance was already melting in their spot; how come they fell that hard for a cashier?!

Chance was a bit hurt that Elliot seemed to already forget about him. Why wasn't Elliot as affected as Chance was? Were they overreacting? Or did they just need to try hard enough?

They sulked as they went back home instead of the casino,

Once at their parent’s villa, they slowly opened the door, their back slouching, them looking utterly defeated.

The maids immediately greeted the gambler and offered to take their coat, welcoming them, though they paid no mind, immediately going to the living room, where their mother sat.

They sighed loudly, then peeked at their parent, their eyes narrowing; then they sighed even louder.

“What’s wrong again, Chance dear?” their mother said wearily, used to Chance’s overdramatic tendencies.

“Oh, you would never understand, mother,” Chance replied, throwing their head back dramatically.

Their mother stared at them dumbfoundedly. She sighed, sitting upright. “Just tell me, I’ll try understanding”

“Mother, I think I'm in love!” Chance whined even more dramatically.

His mother’s eyes widened; she sat up abruptly. “Really now? How come?! You're finally going to get married?”

Chance looked at their mother, eyes teary and lips pursed. "I don't think he likes me back; I just met him today”

“Really now? Love at first sight? Oh, this takes me back, when I fell in love with your father- tell me, what’s his name?” said the woman enthusiastically

Silence stretched between them, the air thick with expectation.

“Chance,” his mother started. “Of course you don't know his name,” she continued, disappointed.

“In my defense, he’s a cashier! It’ll be weird if I ask him for his name!” Chance responded back, getting defensive.

“Chance, I can't help you,” his mother sighed.

“Fine! I'm on my own!” Chance retorted.

They said, yet they couldn't even sleep at night; time stretched, the noise outside agonizing.

They couldn't forget about the kind cashier, golden yellow skin, cheerful, nice to everyone; oh, they were head over heels it was almost pathetic. Their breathing slowed, staring up at the ceiling, staring into the darkness.

“Good morning, Chance,” said a very gentle, familiar voice, “wake up darling…”

Once Chance’s gaze focused, they realized they were staring up at the handsome cashier, their cheeks reddened, their breath hitched, heart leaping in their chest.

“G-good morning…” they said, flustered

Elliot smiled warmly at them, then he slowly leaned closer to their face; he looked like he was about to press a kiss on their face–

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

Chance’s alarm went off, then they realized they were only dreaming, FUCK.

Chance’s morning was already ruined; if only they had a little more minutes to live in that dream…just a little more…

Their hand went to touch their cheek, right where the kiss was supposed to land, caressing the spot as their cheeks reddened.

Fuck, am I really in love? Chance thought.

I love him

I love him so much

I want to spend the rest of my life with him.

Together…

Chance started rolling on the mattress and kicking their feet like a lovesick teenager, all restless.

“I need to see him again!!!!!” Chance yelled at the top of their lungs as they sat up abruptly

Chance took a very quick shower, ensured they smelled amazing, wore their sharpest, most tailored outfits, then stood in front of the full-length mirror, pulling their shades over their bright yellow eyes.

“Lookin’ good.” They made finger guns, posing in front of the mirror

“Will he think I'm handsome though?” the question haunts their mind.

They cleared their throat, fixed up their tie, and straightened up their posture, putting on their usual confident expression.

“Howdy! Cashier, I was wondering what’s ya name?” they said in a confident tone, though they ended up cringing at themselves. “nah that won’t do… FUCK”

At the pizza place

Chance hated lining up, queuing was for minimum wage slaves (not their darling cashier) and unemployed losers, but they had to make a good impression on the guy for god’s sake, once it was finally their turn, all the confidence they gathered up shattered the moment they saw that bright cheerful face again, what fully undid chance was their hairstyle, it suited them very well, soft golden locks styled in a half up half down hairstyle, it left chance feeling breathless.

“Welcome to Builder Brother’s Pizza. What would you like?” said Elliot very warmly, using his usual persona for his clients.

“I….uh …” Chance gulped audibly, their cheeks reddening immediately as they drank in the cashier’s appearance. “O-one….mushroom pizza please” Chance, what the FUCK were you doing? You don't even LIKE mushrooms?!

“One mushroom pizza coming right up!” exclaimed the blonde man.

Chance went to take a seat at one of the tables, completely defeated; they didn't even get to ask for the cashier’s name!!!!

They sighed and rested their hands on their palms, their eyes slowly gazing around until they ended on the cashier again. He looked so perfect, that smile; they wanted it all themself, jealousy consuming them from the inside and eating at them. They wanted those pretty eyes to only look at them.

Chance usually gets what they want; why not get this pretty man behind the counter? Why is it that he feels far out of arm's reach? Chance was absolutely smitten, wrapped around Elliot’s little pinky and never letting go,

Chance simply stared at Elliot as he served more customers, and before he realized it, a waiter was at his table; it was a young Robloxian woman with magenta hair tied in a high bun. Chance was bummed it wasn't Elliot himself that served him the pizza

Lulu, the cashier, smiles at Chance as she puts the pizza down on his table. “Here’s your pizza! Enjoy your meal!”

Chance suddenly grabs Lulu by the hand, stopping her, then they tug her closer until she was within ear’s reach “Hey, you, what’s the name of that pretty cashier?”

Lulu pursed her lips, then huffed "I'm not telling you; it’s none of your business, you creep!”

“I’m not a creep! Just tell me his name!” Chance Snaped, whispering loudly.

“That’s exactly what a creep would say!”

Lulu huffed and tugged her hand away from Chance's tight grip, leaving the frustrated customer to their thoughts and their mushroom pizza.

Chance scoffed, upset as they stared into the pizza; the sight of the mushrooms disgusted them, but... Elliot made it…right? They wouldn't want to leave the pizza they specifically requested uneaten….

They ended up forcing the pizza down, eating every single slice and each mushroom until the plate was left empty.

They left a big tip at the table and left the pizza shop without fulfilling their mission.

Also, the pizza was indeed not cooked by Elliot.

Lulu: “Elliot, some weird rich customer asked for your name today, what’s with all these creeps getting attached to you?!”

Elliot looked at Lulu as he wiped the counter; it was closing time

Elliot: “ahaha…that’s a bit weird.”
