It'll Be Funny

Summary:

After watching a movie involving camping and sleepovers, Rocky insists that Simon, Grace and Rocky should have one together on the artificial beach.

When the first one to fall asleep ends up being Rocky, Simon decides ‘Hey, whoever sleeps first gets pranked.’

After Grace most definitely, totally, absolutely for sure gives his one million percent to stop Simon’s prank, he ends up betraying his fellow friend. In his defense, they all watched the same movie together. What kind of teacher would Grace be if he didn’t show Rocky the consequences of his actions?

(It’s a really cute story, trust me.)
(The title is the main argument here guys, come on~!)

~~

“Still no. I don’t want to explain that to Rocky, ever."

“I’ll help you explain.” Simon offeres.

“You say that every time! And then you never help.”

Simon just shrugs, “Ya know what they say. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.” He then puts his hand on Grace’s shoulder and looks at him with his deep dark eyes. “Fool you seven times though, angel, I gotta say, that's whole lotta shame we’re building up between the two of us here.”

Work Text:

Grace watches as Simon nudges Rocky’s sleeping from in the sand once again. “He really can’t wake up?”

Grace shakes his head. “Nope.”

Simon stands back up from his crouched position and starts to stare deeply at Rocky. “Do you have any pencils laying around?”

Grace can’t help himself, he lets a small chuckle out. “Simon, no. That’s not how that works.”

Simon aims his eyes at Grace. “You watched the movie with us, angel. Whoever falls asleep first gets pranked. You got a better idea?”

Simon walks towards Grace as he speaks. “That movie is the whole reason Rocky insisted on a ‘camping’ sleepover anyways.” he reminds.

With Simon standing right in front of him, looking right at him with those eyes, Grace admits defeat. “There should be Eridian-safe markers in the house.”

Grace takes Simon’s right hand and starts dragging him towards the house. “Rocky’s the one who wanted this anyways.” he tries to reason, mostly to himself rather than Simon.

Simon lets out an amused huff as he trails behind Grace. “Aren’t you a teacher? This’ll be a great learning experience."

“For him or you?”

"I’m a sleepover pro, angel. You’ve got no idea.”

“Pray tell.” Grace says as he enters the house. He lets go of Simon's hand as he goes searching the cabinets for that marker.

Simon stops where Grace had stopped dragging him along, and leans on the doorframe. “Every night was a sleepover back in Eden. We just didn’t have beds to sleep on or resources to prank each other with.”

Grace keeps rummaging through cabinets as he rolls his eyes sarcastically in response. “I’m sure you and your brother’s in arms had a blast.

“Really?” Grace can practically hear the disappointment in Simon’s voice. “I tell you one tragic backstory, and you go and make a joke of it.”

“Sorry. Turn of habit.” he apologises half-heartedly as he finally finds the marker he had been looking for. “I found our prank, if it makes you feel better?”

Our prank? After that joke? No Grace, MY prank. I’ve already got my arm stolen, I don’t need my ideas to get snatched too.” Simon says as he turns around and starts to walk back to where they left Rocky sleeping.

Grace jogs a little bit to catch up to him. “What are you even gonna write? Or draw?”

The little smirk Grace sees when he finally catches up to Simon is all the answer he needs to vehemently disagree. “No. No, no, no,nonononono. Nope. Not happening.”

Grace takes a few fast steps and gets in the way of Simon, stopping his advance. “Firstly, that’s just so childish. Our first prank- sorry. Your first prank on an alien being can NOT be drawing dicks on him. What if they ask what they mean or something? There are so many other options.”

“Come on. It’ll be funny.”

Damn. Simon does make a good argument. Still, Grace will not give up this easily this time. “Still no. I don’t want to explain the concept of ‘dicks’ to Rocky when he inevitably asks.”

“I’ll help you explain.”

“You say that every time! And you never help.”

Simon just shrugs, “Ya know what they say. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.” He then puts his hand on Grace’s shoulder and looks at him with his deep dark mesmerising eyes. “Fool you seven times though, angel, I gotta say, that's whole lotta shame we’re building up between the two of us here.”

How is Grace meant to stand a chance against such a man? This is not a fair fight, if you ask him. Grace is not happy about these turn of events, at all. How did Adiren even find another human stranded on a goddamn moon anyways? Blood sea his ass. Simon’s just… ugh.

Grace takes Simon’s hand off his shoulder and puts the marker in his hands. “I hate you.”

Simon walks past him with ease. “No you don’t.”

How come he’s so confident? All the time? Even when he’s wrong? When he could be wrong? Grace is so done. He starts walking right behind Simon. “No, I don’t.”

They crouch next to Rocky. Grace looks at Simon before their tremendous crime. “Adrian can’t get mad about this, can they?”

Simon uncaps the marker with his thumb, “No idea. You’re the alien scientist here.” Then there’s that awful smirk that Grace definitely hates with all his heart. The dick-drawing smirk. “I’m betting on Rocky getting mad though.”

“Careful now. One might think you don’t like him.”

Simon looks up from Rocky’s sleeping form. “Ya’ don’t say?”

“You do know he trusted us to keep him safe and watch him in his sleep, right? You don’t feel at least a teeny bit of guilt?” Grace tries one last time. His last ditch effort to save his alien buddy.

“He watched the same movie as us, Grace. He knew the stakes.” Simon deadplans. “Now what kind of teacher would you be, if you didn’t teach your students the consequences of their actions?”

Yeah ok. Good argument Simon, you win. Like always. Like Grace can say no to someone like him. “At least let me draw some too.” Let GrCe in on the fun, Simon.

Simon starts drawing two little circles and an oval combo of miniature dicks on Rocky. “Like I said, MY prank, angel. I thought you were the smart one, between the two of us. Amnesia still kicking in?”

“Low blow, Simon.” Grace shoots back immediately.

“And your ‘having a blast’ joke, or the one you did right now, doesn’t count?”

“You won’t get all fired up over that, will you?”

Simon starts adding details to dicks as he lets out a small, involuntary chuckle at Grace’s awful joke. He’s adding dots and lines for pube hair on the bigger dicks he drew. Simon’s a good artist, if only he wasn’t using his talents to draw detailed dicks on Eridians.

Nope, this can’t go on. Grace decides he’s done with watching his spaceship buddy get disrespected like this anymore. He’ll take action. He has to.

So he turns around, shuffles a bit, sits his ass down on the sand, and starts watching the sea instead. Problem solved. You see, Simon, he is the smart one. “What? You don’t have a comeback for that?”

“Kinda too busy with this masterpiece I’m creating right now.”

“You don’t have to focus your everything to it.”

“Said the workaholic.”

Grace lays fully down on the sand, looking up at the artificial dome top. “At least I try to defend my honor and dignity when it’s attacked.”

“Dignity? I'm used to showering with 50 people at the same time, and sleeping alongside double that. Lost the honor when I got welded in that submarine. So your attacks got nothing on me, angel. Either change tactics or admit defeat.”

“Your ego-less-nes is really hard to fight against.”

“I’ve been fighting for long enough. So it’s a good thing the only choice we have now is a little bit of peace.”

“If your peaceful version is drawing tiny, detailed dicks on aliens; I don't wanna know the other version.”

After a while, Simon stands from his crouching position. “Get up and look at my masterpiece. İt's incredibly comedic."

Grace smiles as he also stands up from his laying position. He goes near Simon and looks at his fellow friend covered in all kinds of dicks. At least Simon was all-inclusive.

“I can’t believe you’re using your cartography talents for this.”

“I never really wanted to be a cartographer in the first place, so I’ll take this as a win.”

Grace furrows his eyebrows as he spots something not so dick-like. Well, it could be a dick, but it would have to be a severely mutated one if so. It’s on a curved part of Rocky, so it’s not that well in Grace’s field of vision. He points to it. “What’s that?”

“Go around Rocky and see if you’ll be able to tell, since you keep telling me how good of a drawer I am.”

Grace raises an eyebrow at Simon as he does what he’s told. “Are you fact-checking my compliments?”

“What can I say, trust issues go far.”

Once Grace is fully crouched down, he can see in one circle two human-like figures are holding hands; one with a missing arm and wavy long-ish hair, the other with glasses and messy hair. In a circle right by it are one blob with 4 legs, and a triangle-mountain with 4 legs. There’s an oval shape connected to the two side by side circles as well, but Grace kind of expected that. The drawings are very well drawn, considering the ‘Rocky’ surface.

Grace smiles, one that reaches his eyes. “This is the most meaningful dick drawing I have ever seen in my life.”

Simon puts the cap back on the marker and drops it near Rock’s body, where it won’t get lost. Then offers his only available hand to Grace. Grace takes it, stands up, hops over sleeping, dick covered and betrayed by his alien friend Rocky’s body and hugs Simon.

They first sit down together, then lay down, enjoying each other's company.

“Sometimes I wonder if we like each other because we’re the only humans here, or if we truly like each other." Grace suddenly blurts out.He can’t help himself. That’s how Grace’s brain is, sometimes. Joykill for sure.

“Hey Grace?”

Grace looks up from where he’s laying on Simon’s chest, Simon’s only arm cuddling him close. Simon looks down to Grace, to his eyes. “Shut up.”

Notes:

Hope ya'all liked it!

I just had this idea at midnight and went 'What the hell, lemme just write it.' and here we are.

Whenever I have sleepoveres, or go to one, someone always ends up having dicks drawn on their faces. It's pretty funny, I won't lie. That's where the idea came from.

A second chapter might come, but don't bet on it lol
