Chapter Text
Oliver walked towards the large school holding his luggage.
“Wow, this campus is huge!” He said to his mom, Sweet An.
“It is!” She replied. “This is the best boarding school in the country! You’ll learn a lot here.”
“I should get inside.” Oliver said. “The opening ceremony is starting soon and I can’t miss it.”
“I’ll miss you, Oliver.” Sweet An said.
“I love you mom.” Replied Oliver.
“I love you too.” Said Sweet An almost immediately.
Oliver looked back at her one more time before going inside.
Oliver placed his luggage at the drop off and made his way to the auditorium for the opening ceremony.
“Welcome students!” Said a man with a booming voice. “I am your headmaster Gakupo. This is a very prestigious academy. You will learn many things at this school such as…….”
At that point Oliver zoned out, he was never good at paying attention. He was staring at the boy sitting in front of him. He had fiery red hair and pale skin. Oliver was deep in thought when he was quicky pulled back to reality by the boy in front of him standing up. Everyone was leaving and if Oliver didn’t stand up quickly, he would be trampled by all the students behind him.
Oliver quickly hopped up and scurried along with the crowd. Everyone was being given numbers, they were room numbers that would decide their dorm. Oliver collected his number and room key; it was dorm 49 yet he only glanced at it. Everyone went off to their dorms, including Oliver. Oliver tried to follow the crowd but got lost.
“Wait a minute, my number is room 49, not room 2049.” He thought to himself.
“Oh no, I think I’m lost. Maybe if I just follow the numbers down, I’ll find my room.”
Oliver walked down to room 49. He knocked on the door. An older upperclassmen girl opened the door.
“Oh, you must be our room- actually, I don’t think you’re our roommate.” She said looking him up and down. “Are you by any chance lost?”
“Yes I am.” Oliver said looking down. “I must be on the girl’s side. I really didn’t mean to, I’m new here after all.”
“It’s alright.” She said chuckling. “The boy’s side is on the other side of the school. Just keep walking straight and take a right, then walk some more and you should find your dorms.”
“Thank you” Oliver said before scampering off to find his room.
After a few minutes of walking, he heard walking behind him. Oliver whipped around and saw the boy he watched during the entrance ceremony.
“Why are you following me?” Oliver asked. “Are you also trying to find your dorm?”
“No, I already know where my dorm is.” He replied. “I knew that we shared a dorm so I followed you to see if you would find it. You seem the type to get lost and I was right.”
“So, you just followed me around for an hour watching me struggle?” Oliver asked rather annoyed.
“Yes, I did.” Said the boy. “It was quite amusing.”
“Whatever.” Oliver said, annoyed at the fact this boy found amusement in his struggle.
He continued to walk to his dorm with the red-haired boy following behind. When Oliver entered the room, he found his luggage neatly placed by his bed. The room wasn’t very large and had three beds, two of them being bunk beds and the other being alone. On the top bunk sat a tall older boy with short grey hair.
When the two walked in he hopped down.
“Pleasure to meet you first years!” He said with an energetic voice. “I’m Dex! I’m a third year and I have been assigned to help you if you need.”
“Nice to meet you, Dex.” Oliver said. “I’m Oliver, and this is……” He looked back at the other boy.
“Fukase.” He said plainly.
“Well, now that you’re here you can get all settled in.” Said Dex.
Oliver and Fukase unpacked their belongings and placed them in their proper places. Once they were done, it was rather late in the evening, so they all went to bed. Oliver laid in bed and wondered what all he missed when he zoned out during the speech earlier. Surely, he was just talking about normal studies, right? But at the same time Oliver thought that it would be stupid to talk about normal studies that students already knew they’d have. He just decided to roll over and go to sleep. Surely it didn’t matter, right?
