The opening ceremony was boring to say the least
…
“Really?” Cassie asks slightly exhausted
“If you fail this simple task then you’re clearly not fit to serve here”
“…As you wish, seraphim.”

Cassie was assigned to be a guardian angel to protect a guy from his death. Like…seriously? Cassie is one of the highest ranking angels in all of heaven! She should be doing something that puts her rank to use! But she can’t go against the highest ranking being in existence now, can she?
She has to take the roll of a transfer, senior college student, majoring in psychology. At least it’s an easy job for her.
When she was cast down to earth, she was right in front of the supposed college with her wings hidden and in what seems to be a uniform. She also somehow has a messenger bag which is…weird. At least it worked in her favor. Inside she saw a file and scanned it a bit, boring to say the least.
She looks around herself, there are a bunch of people walking in and bumping into each other.
”whatever” she thinks and joins the crowd and ends up at the ceremony.

After the principal finished his speech, she takes a moment to observe the surroundings. The ceremony took place in the field. There are overly extravagant decorations and dessert tables scattered everywhere, along with students enthusiastically talking to each other, giggling and everything, whats so exciting really? Its college. All you can really do is learn and study to get a half-decent job.
Cassie has the file of the student she’s supposed to be protecting in her bag along with her schedule and school supplies. She read it earlier, ‘Kenji’ is apparently also a senior student and majors in music. He is supposedly a silly clutz, has a twin sister, plays guitar, occasionally gets into fights, bla bla, she already read it all.
Cassie decides to try and talk to someone. She needs a good reputation and relationships with other students, right?
She looks around and spots a taller girl sitting on the side scrolling through her phone, seemingly bored. She walks over to her and tries to start a conversation.
“Hey!” Cassie perks up
“…hm?” Holy boring ass person
“What’s your name? I’m Cassie.”
“I’m Mari.”
…
“Wanna be friends?”
“…Okay.”
…
Cassie is sitting with Mari. There weren’t any classes on the first day so that students can get comfortable with the facilities.
The campus has the cafe, a library that are run by students, a gym, a cafeteria, a field and dormitories, which is amazing for the students who are too lazy to leave anywhere.
Cassie is sipping a vanilla latte with a plate of pancakes on the side while Mari is doomscrolling after downing a shot of espresso. Cassie is getting quite bored of Looking at Mari. This task of hers also required her to be a good student and admirable person people can look up to, which means doomscrolling is not something she can do in a public space. Thank goodness that the cafe somehow offers novels for customers to read. She picks out a cool book named “the king in yellow” cause why not? The book was interesting enough to keep her occupied.

Even after reading the book for an hour, she looks up to see Mari STILL on her phone! Honestly, how does anyone even have the ability to do that without being bored?”
“You’re staring.” Mari says while still on her phone
“I know that.”
“So stop.”
“Fine! Jeez.”
…
Cassie regrets not looking for the guy as soon as she could instead of sitting around with Mari.
she goes back to reading her book.
