Chapter Text
Miya Atsumu
It was a normal day until Atsumu spilled his box of grape juice through one if the the school hallway windows. It all happened in just a second that Atsumu can’t even understand what just happened. He was just arguing with Osamu about which one of onigiri toppings are the best, and the next thing he knew, someone ran through the hallway and pushed Atsumu to the side, which made him spill all the juice through the window.
“My juice!” Atsumu exclaimed, as it was the first thing that he put on his tongue today.
“What the heck, you clumsy potato!” Osamu said in a disappointing voice. Atsumu looked over the open window and saw someone standing on the ground right below him and he immediately knew that the juice got spilled over that person. Before Atsumu could apologize, the person looked up and Atsumu’s brown eyes met with a pair of raging pitch black eyes. The blond boy immediately crouched down, hiding from the angry boy from down below.
“What is wrong with you? Get up!” Osamu said with an irritating voice after finishing his unharmed box of juice.
“My juice… it spilled on someone…”
Osamu laughed out loud at Atsumu and said, “call me when that person beats the shit out of you.”
“Samu! Staawph! It’s serious, his eyes were choking me with burning rage!”
“Yeah, that’s what you deserve for being clumsy!”
“No! Staawph! I’m scared for my life! His eyes were stabbing me with a knife!”
“Just go and apologize and it’s over. It’s just juice, you’ll be fine,” Osamu said with a bored voice. Atsumu bit his lips from fear. He couldn’t forget the pitch black eyes that had literal flames burning in within. The blond twin gulped and got up, hesitantly looking over the window again, only to see the spot that the black haired boy was left empty.
“Samu! Samu! He’s gone! He’s gone! He’s coming to get me and he’s going to drag me to some unruled dark forest and torture me while pouring grape juice all over me and he will kill me by drowning me in some grape juice and someone will find my body by the road and no one will ever know what happened to me and my name will forever remain on the unsolved murder mystery until that boy’s family friend sees my missing eyes in his secret cabinet because he took it as a trophy and he will call the police and finally everyone will know what happened to me but I will forever be gone-”
Osamu hit Atsumu’s shoulder, interrupting his self-written unsolved mystery novel.
“Shut up. No one cares enough to do that shit. Let’s go, I’m hungry.”
Atsumu got up and hid behind Osamu as they walked through the hallway to the school cafeteria. He’s looking around carefully, hoping he wouldn’t bump into those pitch black eyes again.
“Stop this madness! Go to your stupid friends and leave me alone to eat!” Osamu said with an angry voice, pushed Atsumu to the side and walked away to get himself something to eat. The blond twin let his tongue out at the gray haired twin’s back and walked to the table where his friends were waving at him.
“You look like you just saw a ghost,” Oikawa said when Atsumu sat next to him.
“Right! Did Osamu beat you again and take your food again?” Sugawara asked while munching on some very healthy looking salad that Atsumu hates with his guts.
“No, I just gave another person a reason to kill me and hide my body in the forest.” Atsumu sighed, hoping that the black eyed ravenette never finds him and confronts him, for he’s sure that he’ll cry and do some stupid things if that happens.
“You should stop thinking that everyone is ready to kill you and hide your body,” Oikawa said while checking his hair in his pocket mirror.
“Yeah, nobody has the time, babe.”
Atsumu rolled his eyes but he felt relieved, finally feeling some sort of calmness.
“You never know! Somebody could be stalking me and planning to kill me because I tripped and poured some juice on them. This world is scary! People are killing each other and the world is falling apart!”
“Oh honey, why don’t you find yourself a nice boyfriend to make out in his car after school instead of watching true crime documentaries all the time?” Sugawara said as if he thinks it’s a good idea.
“Exactly. Go find yourself a muscular one so you can get choked by their hot sexy muscular arms and descend to heaven.”
“First of all, ew. Second of all, nah. Third of all, blah,” Atsumu said while fake gagging. “That just sounds musty and cranky. I already have enough stress to deal with Osamu and you guys want me to deal with another musty ass? Just no.”
“It’s not musty. It’s fantastic,” Sugawara remarked with a grin.
“Of course, it’s fantastic for you, Daichi and you have been friends since middle school!”
“Ah, I’m so jealous. I’m the definition of fabulous and I'm still single while this old grandma hair is already in a steady and healthy relationship! Why is life so unfair?!” Oikawa whined.
“Who are you calling grandma hair, you chipmunk?! Do you wanna catch these hands, huh?!”
“Everyone can catch your skinny and scrawny arms. You’re no threat to anyone!”
“I may not be scary enough with only my hands, but you can't beat me once I get my asian household slippers and send you to Jesus! I have the power of asian mom on my side!” Sugawara warned with his index finger waving around.
“You can't scare me! The king of fabulousness, the Oikawa Tooru will never give up to someone like Wallmart Sophie Hatter! Howl will never date you!”
Atsumu gasped dramatically, as Howl was Sugawara’s long time fictional crush and was the first on his simp list for years and Sugawara gets emotionally and physically triggered whenever his name gets mentioned.
“Kawa! Run! Run! Faster before Sugar’s inner Hulk wakes inside him!”
“No! I’m tired of getting bullied by this grandma! It’s time for us to rebel and fight for our lives!” Oikawa stubbornly folded his hands on his chest and puffed.
“Babe… you’re not Katniss from The Hunger Games… nobody’s going to follow your lead and rebel…”
Oikawa huffed at Atsumu. They both got startled by Sugawara’s deadly calm voice, gulped and looked at him, and Atsumu immediately knew that Sugawara was on his killing mode.
“Okay. I’m going to call your mom and tell her that you sneaked out of your house to go to Terushima’s party last weekend. And I’m going to tell her that you also stole her expensive ruby necklace last year to go on a date and lost it in the park, made me and Atsumu crawl through mud and dirt to find it. Maybe I can tell your sister that you were the one who put water in her foundation and powder because she didn’t give you money this summer. I’m going to tell them everything.”
Atsumu’s jaws dropped, since he never imagined Sugawara would try to expose Oikawa, and as much as it’s shocking, Atsumu can’t hide his excitement, for he’s getting way too entertained by them.
“Exposed! Busted! Cancel Oikawa!” the blond boy said loudly while clapping his hands, laughing in joy.
“Don’t you dare!” Oikawa said with his hand on his chest, dramatically gasping at Sugawara who’s sitting with his arms crossed, smiling smugly at Oikawa.
“How dare you! I thought you were my friend! I trusted you with my life! We were like cheese and milk, you were my Kitkat and I was your expensive steak in a 5 star Michelin star!”
“You started it all! You came for my lover!”
“Howl is not your lover!”
“He is! He is my lover of five years!”
“I’m going to tell that to Daichi!”
“Yeah, go do that! He knows that he comes last when Howl is next to me!”
“You broke my heart! It’s just me and my broken heart! We were like Cassie and Maddie! You were my platonic soulmate!”
“Uhmm, Cassie and Maddie thing is a bad example. Didn’t Cassie fucked Maddie’s trashy ex?” Atsumu interrupted the two.
“Oh My God! Does that mean Suga will fuck my ex behind my back and scream “I am crazier!?”
“Ew. I’m not Cassie and you're definitely not Maddie.”
“You’re so Cassie, like you have a big daddy kink and she has deep daddy issues. It just matches perfectly.” Oikawa shrugged.
“It doesn’t even make any sense! Those two are totally different things!”
“Can you imagine if our life was like Euphoria? I would just cry and leave the town, my normal life is already stressful with Samu and his constant bullying.” Atsumu imagined his life in the show and shivers ran through his spine. He may act chaotic and do stupid things with his friends, but he could never imagine anything getting even crazier than his boring normal life. He doesn’t think that he has the energy to keep up with it and bear all those stress.
“I would be living my best life with those small piece of fabric that they call clothes and all those glitters,” Oikawa said while pushing his hair back with an attitude, “You dumb fucking bitch! I’m gonna fuck you!”
“You don’t have long nails, that doesn’t work on you.”
“Sugar, you’re just jealous because you wouldn’t have any boys chasing you like they would with me.”
“Shut your virgin asses up. Don’t act like you guys would be the main characters in Euphoria. The whole world knows that we would be the mute background characters in the hallway and talk about them in the cafeteria in secret like this,” the blond rolled his eyes, stealing a small piece of tomato from Sugawara’s way too healthy salad.
“Sometimes I can’t tell if you’re making the most sense or just being too pessimistic little doll. Still love you though, honey,” said Sugawara while shaking his head a little.
“Anyway, the fact still remains that I will forever be the baddest bitch in the room no matter the situation!” Oikawa clapped his hands with a satisfied face.
“Do you act like this in your modeling club as well? Do they see the real dumbass Kawa or just the fake dumbass Kawa?”
“Sugar! I’m the realest in the room wherever I go. I’m the best and that’s it, end of topic. My modeling club all just bow to me and respect me with all their hearts.”
“Yeah, I doubt that. Suna said you always stumble and hit your leg or arm on hard objects. He said that you were the awkward and nerdy one there.” Atsumu nodded his head as if he's handing out some big information.
“Suna doesn’t know anything! He just takes photos for us sometimes and that’s it!” Oikawa disagreed.
“Nah, I believe in Suna more.” The silver haired boy shook his head.
“Sugar!”
Atsumu yawned while the other two started to bicker again. He even forgot about the boy who has pitch black eyes that he spilled the juice on. But the same thing can’t be said about the other boy.
Sakusa Kiyoomi
“You look like shit,” Iwaizumi said when Sakusa got out of the restroom after rubbing his whole face and hair with cold water for almost half an hour straight. He’s grabbing his wet shirt in his one hand, only in his thin T-shirt that’s almost fully wet from the aggressive washing.
“If you say that again, I’ll literally chop your tongue off,” Sakusa hissed. He walked past Iwaizumi who was laughing in joy.
“Yeah, yeah, but why are you soaking wet in the middle of school time? Did you do anything funny in the restroom because you saw your favorite brand of soap or something?” The spiky haired boy then laughed at his own joke while following the curly haired boy.
“Shut up! Someone literally threw a whole box of juice that he was drinking! I scrubbed all my face and hair but it still feels like his germs and saliva are on my body so shut up or I’m literally going to get violent and smack the shit out of you!”
“Whoa! What’s the problem with him?” Terushima asked when Sakusa slam opened the door of the classroom that the others were sitting at. Sakusa quietly walked to his bag to put an enormous amount of disinfecting gel on his face and body.
“Someone spilled something on him,” Iwaizumi said with a nonchalant voice while he went to the table where Bokuto and Kuroo were sitting at.
“Well, that makes sense.” Terushima shrugged, and walked up to Sakusa, and said “so… I have a favor to ask you, bro,” with a teasing tone.
“No.” Sakusa didn't even raise an eyebrow.
“Come on, you didn’t even hear what it is.”
“It must be something ridiculous and stupid if it’s coming from you.”
“Ouch! My heart! My friend broke my heart.”
“Oh, just quit it. I’m not in the mood to talk,” Sakusa snaked back.
“Then just listen. So, there is this one boy, a really pretty boy, I might add. He’s like you know, very pretty and cute, plus, he’s smart. He's perfect.”
“Why does that matter to me?”
“Because I’m your friend. Anyway, as for that pretty boy, I came up to him and we were pretty cool, talking and stuff. We got pretty close and stuff, then last week, I asked him out on a date at my party and he literally flat out rejected me and now won’t talk to me, won’t answer my calls and texts, he is acting like I don’t exist.’
“Still sounds like it’s your problem, not mine.”
“Come on, help your friend out. I’ll buy you a whole packet of soap and shampoo.”
“What do you even want me to do? Go tell him to talk to you?” Sakusa rolled his eyes.
“No. I still have some dignity. You can just, you know, go talk to him, make him get closer to you and act like he never existed, like he did to me,” said Terushima, licking his lips with his pierced tongue.
Sakusa lost his word and stared at Terushima with a mixture of confusion and shock. “You? Want? Me? To? Talk? To? Someone? Willingly?” Sakusa emphasized the last word with a sour face, for his head and body hurts just from thinking about going to someone and talking.
“Come on, I promise I’ll buy you any cleaning supply that you want.”
“No. Ew. Just no.”
“Come on, please. Please. Pretty please?” Terushima rubbed his hands together.
“Go ask Iwaizumi, or Bokuto. Or even Kuroo. Why are you coming to me to ask that? I’m literally the last person to come and ask that kind of favor.”
“Because people don't really know you so he won’t get suspicious. He will know that I sent them, so you’re the best candidate.”
“No. Do you want to hear it in Spanish? No.”
“Please, Sakusa--”
“He’s in a bad mood, I don’t think he will ever say yes in this state. Stop wasting your time, dude,” Iwaizumi said while scrolling through his phone with a bored voice, interrupting Terushima's begging session.
“Terubro! Why are you going after him this much? Do you like him that much?” Bokuto asked with his big yellow eyes shining in curiosity.
“Yeah, just leave him be unless you like him so much that you can't forget about him,” Kuroo added, raising his eyes from his phone that’s ringing from notifications nonstop.
“It’s not like that. I got played and humiliated. He used me and threw me away like some trash,” Terushima whined out loud.
“Come on, you said you guys just talked for some time. It’s nothing to make a big deal out of it,” said the tall boy with a cat-like grin.
“It is. Don’t you feel this way if someone you guys were talking turned 180 and acted like you never even existed? It is a humiliation and I will not let this go that easily.”
“But then why would you ask Sakusa? He’ll probably scare that boy and ruin your plan,” Kuroo said with a smile, clearly getting entertained by this situation. “Ask someone like Bokuto, right Bokubro? His charm will definitely make him fall for sure.”
“He can’t. Like I said, he might get suspicious and might even not like Bokuto. He’s smart, he’ll put two and two together and know that I sent him to get revenge.”
“Impossible. That kind of person doesn’t exist.” Bokuto shook his head with a smile like he doesn’t believe in Terushima, refusing to even think about the possibility that there is someone who can resist his charm.
“It’s true! You guys don’t understand it because you didn’t talk to him,” said the fake blond boy as he stood on his ground.
“It’s making me curious. Who is he? Is he new? I don’t think I ever even met someone like you described.” Bokuto’s eyes shine brightly in challenge, a big grin appears on his face like he doesn’t believe in Terushima.
Terushima sighed but pulled his phone out. “He’s not new, he just keeps his head low and avoids any conflict. Like I said for the millionth time, he’s smart and mature!” The fake blond showed a picture to his friends, a long pierced tongue lolled out of his mouth as usual when he gets concentrated. Sakusa saw the picture of the boy that Terushima has been talking about nonstop with the corner of his eyes. It's a picture of a boy with ocean blue eyes and short curly hair, smiling softly.
“I never saw him before and I thought I knew everyone in the school,” Kuroo said with one brow raised.
“I think I saw him studying with his friends by the wooden tables in the school yard. But I’m not a hundred percent sure.” Iwaizumi shrugged and went back to his phone.
“My point? Proven.” Terushima clapped his hands. He turned back to Sakusa and rubbed his palms together again, begging.
“No. Do it yourself. God gave you hands.”
“God gave me hands because I can’t find someone who wants to be in a relationship with me,” said Terushima while wiggling his eyebrows.
“Ew. Ew! What the--”
“Please? You’re my soul bro, please.”
“No. Not in a million years. Besides… you’re reminding me of that stupid shit who spilled his dirty juice all over me and ruined my day!” Sakusa groaned while rubbing his face roughly.
“Was he Terushima?” Iwaizumi asked with an evil smile, “If so, my camera is ready to record that fight.”
“What? What juice? I don’t drink juice. I only drink beer and cu--”
“Shut your dirty mouth or I’ll call Asahi to perform an exorcism on you! And no, I’m sure it was not Terushima,” Sakusa said while recalling back to when he took a glance at that blond hair and hazel brown eyes. “He was uglier than Terushima. Do you know how low you have to be to be uglier than this dude? Unimaginable.”
“Hey! I’m not ugly! I’m the flashiest thirst trap boy ever.”
“You got dumped by some nerdy boy no one knows without even getting officially started. Think about that statement again.” Sakusa protested back.
Iwaizumi and Kuroo laughed out loud, clapping their hands. “I’m loving this Terushima slander time.”
“Stop that! Stop reminding me that I got humiliated by him! It’s already hard on me anyway!” The boy whined loudly again.
“Don’t be. I’ll do what you asked.”
Everybody looked at Bokuto with surprised eyes.
“I don’t really know about that,” Terushima scratched the back of his neck and continued, “like I said, he’s smart, and he’ll probably know that I sent you since everyone knows that we’re friends.”
“Don’t worry. I’ll make sure to be smooth and natural. I’ll play dumb so you don’t have to worry.”
“Why are you suddenly interested in him? I thought you were interested in that blond girl from next door class,” Kuroo asked. Bokuto just shrugged with a smile, giving Terushima his phone back after taking a good look at the picture of the boy who was their topic for the last half an hour.
“He’s pretty. Might as well get entertained while helping my friend. It’s like killing two birds with one stone. It’ll be fun.”
“Are you sure though? I have a bad feeling about this. He’ll know surely.”
“Come on, trust me bro. I’ll play dumb like nobody does. You just sit back and watch.” Bokuto winked.
“I hope… okay deal! Thanks bro! I’m finally able to sleep at night!” Terushima raised his fist in the air in victory.
Kuroo smiled and looked at Iwaizumi. “Isn’t our school so entertaining?”
“For sure. I think I made a good decision by coming here. I even got invited to tons of clubs on the first day that I got here.”
“Did you decide which one to join in?”
“I’m thinking about the modeling club. I saw a lot of pretty faces there,” said Iwaizumi with a wink.
“Welcome to our club, Iwabro! Finally I got someone to spend time with while waiting for my turn. I was getting bored to hell.” Bokuto whined but smiled brightly at Iwaizumi.
“You’re in the modeling club?” Iwaizumi asked.
“Yeah, dude, what can I say? Everyone wants to capture this thick juicy ass,” Bokuto said while spanking his own ass with a proud face.
“Ew. I'm out.”
Sakusa got his bag, and his shirt is still soaking wet in his hands. He put a new mask on and angrily walked out of the classroom. He heard Kuroo and Terushima scream “Don’t forget to use protection! Ah! Oh Sakusa-kun! Ohh!” while walking out of the classroom. Sakusa shook his head, but his mind immediately went to that blond stranger who made his day a living hell. Sakusa is going back home to get a full body bath and shower, and scrub every inch of it instead of studying and that’s all that blond’s fault.
Most people think that Sakusa is the type of person who just forgets about anything that doesn’t matter to him, or that he’s too scared to even confront the person who did him dirty. That’s not true. Sakusa is not someone who forgives easily or is scared to confront anyone. He is the type to remember those who did him dirty and seek that revenge, and will only sleep well after serving that bitter revenge.
Sakusa walked out of the school, clenching his soaking wet shirt that still has some light pink tint to it and grates his teeth harshly together, keeping a note in his mind to buy dozens of some cheap grape juice to shove it down that blond stranger’s throat.
Bokuto Koutarou
Bokuto smiled and waved back at some girls who were surrounding him, swooning and cheering. His smug but gentle smile remained on his face even after he walked away from the spotlight. The tall and buff boy walked to the back of the school building to find his friends. He walked down the stairs and turned around the corner on the first floor only to see a face that he memorized recently.
Akaashi Keiji.
Bokuto would be lying if he said that he doesn’t think Akaashi is pretty, because he is. That boy is really pretty and Bokuto is curious. When Terushima showed him the picture of Akaashi last friday, Bokuto wondered why Akaashi started talking to Terushima in the first place. He looks like someone who doesn’t really go around and date people all the time, especially with someone like Terushima who is known for his inability to stay in a relationship for a long time.
The tall boy stayed on his spot and watched the ocean eyed boy. Akaashi is neatly taking notes from something on the school announcement board, and his side profile is just as pretty. Bokuto even saw his slim and pale hands hold the pen gently, almost like tickling Bokuto’s patience and curiosity.
Before Bokuto could go and talk to Akaashi, a random boy walked up to the ravenette with his whole face blushed. Akaashi looked at the boy and his facial expression didn't change, staying the same.
“Akaashi-kun… I… I…” the boy stuttered, his face is getting even redder as he talks. “I think you’re… pretty… really really pretty…” the boy wiped the sweat from his forehead and took a deep breath, and took out a small bouquet of red roses and a chocolate bar with a letter from his bag with shaking hands and handed them to Akaashi, closed his eyes tightly and almost screamed, “I really like you, Akaashi-kun, I have feelings for you, please accept my heart!”
Akaashi blinked a few times and took the gifts, and mumbled something that Bokuto couldn't hear. The boy then ran away fast with his face still blushed hard. Akaashi stayed still and calm, he stared at the boy’s back for a moment. He then put his pen and notebook back in his bag and walked the direction towards Bokuto.
The ocean eyed boy threw the roses and the letter into the trash bin without even glancing at them, opened the chocolate bar and put one small square in his mouth. When he came closer to Bokuto, the taller boy put on his nicest smile and stopped in front of him, blocking the way.
Akaashi stopped on his way and looked up at Bokuto with his stone cold expression, and even Bokuto’s most charming smile couldn’t melt that. The ocean eyed boy quietly walked past Bokuto but the taller boy blocked his way again, keeping his smile up.
“I’m sorry, I believe you have something of mine,” Bokuto said with his signature deep but still soft and sweet voice that always makes everyone melt.
“I don’t think I have anything of yours,” Akaashi said in a deadly calm voice, his eyes, his face, his body language - nothing changed. He’s not getting blushed or hiding his face from Bokuto like everyone else. Bokuto’s charm didn’t affect him at all which made Bokuto frown just a bit.
“I think you have my eyes and heart.”
Akaashi looked at Bokuto, the deep ocean eyes met the sunlike-bright eyes for a moment and Akaashi walked past Bokuto again without saying anything. Bokuto left there with a shock. He looked back over his shoulder and saw the ravenette walk away like nothing had happened.
Bokuto understood what Terushima was talking about; that feeling of invisibility.
“Hahh…” The tall, buff boy licked his lips and pointed his finger at the other boy’s back like a gun, aimed it and let out a gun sound “bang!” He smiled and blew the imaginary gun smoke with a small grin.
“You’re mine… mine…” he whispered.
Oikawa Tooru
“He didn’t tell you that you’re pretty when you showed up? Dump his ass!” Sugawara said through the phone but Oikawa knows that Sugawara clapped his hands like he’s in a show.
“I know right!? The audacity! How can he not appreciate me, the fairest of them all, who made time to go to that cafe with him? He didn’t even bring me any flowers or a handwritten love letter or anything like that!” Oikawa exclaimed.
“Just dump his ass. Dump everyone’s ass. Man ain’t shit, I’m telling you.”
“Exactly. Mark my words, Sugar! I will never give men any chance from now on. I will forever be single with my own fabulous ass. I’m telling you, I’ll thrive in my life with my single yet fabulous ass.”
“Period! Exactly! Who needs a man? Like all they do is smell musty and eat shit, that’s it.”
“Okay, that sounded more like Atsubee. Is he there with you?” Sugawara asked while clearly eating something.
“Nah, I think he’s with KenKen and Kaashi. I heard him saying that he’s starving and going to eat something with the others.”
“He’s starting to sound like Osamu more as time goes on. We need to take him shopping and get him away from Osamu, that angry man is ruining our bee!”
“I don’t think we can take Tsumu’s brother away from him but sure, shopping sounds great. I’ve been thinking about going shopping. Daichi has been wearing the same old checkerboard shirt for the past few months and it’s driving me insane. I need to get him a new shirt or I’ll lose my mind, I’m telling you.”
“Ew, you sound like you’re already married and have a lot of children.”
“I mean, Daichi is a daddy material so I’m not complaining,” and Sugawara giggled.
“Material boy!”
“Yes, I am.”
Oikawa saw Suna coming into the room with his cameras and waved at him.
“Gotta go. Time for me to shine bright like a diamond.”
“You go and shine like a bad bitch!”
Oikawa hung up the phone and fixed his hair a little. He saw Suna turn on the camera and got prepared to start the photoshoot. Soon, their club president came in with someone that Oikawa had never seen before.
“Good afternoon to everyone,” Kiyoko said with her usual calm voice. Everyone greeted, fixated their focus on the club president and the new boy next to her.
“I’m really glad that our club is expanding with each year and is able to achieve great things. I’m also really happy to announce that we are finally participating in this year’s grand festival of Tokyo.”
The room filled with people cheering and clapping their hands in happiness. The grand festival of Tokyo is a big deal. It's a big opportunity to show people their talents and make the world have their eyes on them. Oikawa’s club couldn’t enter last year, or the year before that. They always lose to other private schools and it was bothering Oikawa, for that festival, that big stage and all those bright lights belong to Oikawa. He was born to be in the spotlight, he was born to be the brightest shining star on the stage. Finally, this year, after all those efforts. Oikawa now finally has the chance to become the big star that he always dreams of.
“We are partnering with the photography club and the designer club for this festival, singing and dancing clubs are also participating but we won’t really need to meet them to prepare our show. Let’s try our best to win the festival and prove ourselves. I believe in all of you.”
The members clapped with happy faces, all excited to participate in the festival. Oikawa is as excited as the others but his eyes are locked on the new boy that’s standing next to Kiyoko. The boy looks like he came out from Oikawa’s dreams; someone took him out and made him with so much care and love. Oikawa smiled slightly with a soft blush on his face and stared at the unbothered boy from afar.
“We also have a new member. Everybody, this is Iwaizumi Hajime, our new member and he’s also new to our school. Please, take good care of him,” declared Kiyoko calmly while nodding her pretty face.
“Nice to be here. Help me with things that I don’t know,” said the handsome boy.
A big wave of butterflies filled Oikawa’s stomach when he heard the perfectly balanced deep yet very creamy voice. The brunette boy smiled and put a small strand of his hair behind his ear.
“Everyone, let’s try our best.”
Everyone started chit chatting about the festival. Oikawa saw Iwaizumi walk up to Bokuto and they started talking to each other. Oikawa felt a bit of sadness crash in him when he saw that Iwaizumi is friends with Bokuto. It’s not a secret in their school that Bokuto and his friends are the type of people that never stays with one person for a long time. The brunette boy sighed. It’s not like he’s trying to get together with the new boy, he can just keep everything inside him and just look at the boy from afar.
But deep down, even he himself knew that it’s all a lie.
Miya Atsumu
Atsumu threw his phone away in anger. Osamu is not answering any of his calls and not even reading his texts and Atsumu knows exactly what he’s doing. Osamu always shuts down whenever the twins have fights and Atsumu needs to calm his twin down and apologize or else Atsumu will have to cook his own dinner and he hates cooking for himself.
“Did you finally have some love affairs or are you just overreacting?” Sugawara asked while eating his chicken salad that Atsumu can’t even look at it because it’s too healthy.
“Yes, I am in love,” Oikawa said with his chin on his palms, staring at the sky with his eyes filled with small hearts.
“I thought you said that boy was a player and you’ll keep your distance,” Akaashi said with his monotone voice.
“Yes, we’ll marry and we will have a big three stored mansion with one cat and one dog.”
“This guy,” Sugawara shook his head, bonked Oikawa on the head lightly.
“Ouch! Don’t hit me from now on! I’m the future star, you can’t make my beauty suffer and make it like your ugly face!” The brunette boy cried.
“Call me ugly again and we’ll fight right here and now.”
“I wonder how we became friends,” Akaashi said with a soft sigh.
“The real wonder is how we stayed friends with these donkeys,” a soft voice came out from Kenma who has been on his game switch this entire time.
“You rarely talk and the first thing you say is to call us donkeys?” Oikawa asked, to which Kenma simply shrugged and didn’t bother to answer back.
“Anyway, Kawa” Akaashi stared at Oikawa, “I think you should stay away if you really think that he wouldn’t have the same intention as yours. It’s better to be safe.”
“Agreed. He’s friends with Bokuto who swims in an ocean of girls and boys,” Atsumu added.
“Honey, what kind of creepy ass metaphor is that?” The silver haired boy asked.
“I don’t know. I failed my literature class because apparently I can’t make a presentation on my all time favorite solved cases so I didn’t bother to do the rest of the class… don’t expect too much from me when it comes to beautiful metaphors or something like that… besides, if I just vanished one day, it’s my literature class teacher who kidnapped me and killed me. She’s been trying to kill me for the past school year.”
“Atsumu. No one is trying to kill you,” said Akaashi while shaking his head gently.
“You never know. Like you said Kaashi, it’s better to be safe!”
“I think Osamu is the only one who benefits from your disappearance but I digress. Anyway, I’m marrying him but I’m also not coming closer to him,” and Oikawa went back to daydreaming.
“That doesn’t make any sense. Are you trying to kiss him or kill him?” Sugawara demanded.
“Both. I know he’s probably not good for me but I want him, like I want some cake right now.”
“You can’t have that. Kawa, that’s like… in your language, that’s like Jules and Elliot kind of messed up and doesn’t make any sense,” Akaashi finished.
Oikawa whined and tried to stand up, which Sugawara held him from his hand and make him sit back with a groan.
“Stop! Stop trying to run away! Deal with it now with us or you'll do something regretful!” Sugawara scolded as he took a look at the people behind the table. “You, Oikawa Tooru, stop this shit and make up your own mind if you want to get closer to that boy or not! And you, Miya Atsumu, stop thinking everyone is trying to kill you and eat healthy, at least just once!”
Oikawa whined while Atsumu stared at Sugawara’s healthy salad with a frown like he’s staring at his long-time sworn enemy.
“I feel like you’re trying to kill me, Sugar,” the bee-like boy said with a sour face.
“I might if you don’t stop this madness and stop adding new gray hair on my head.”
“But he’s like my dream boy. Like… he’s the one.”
“You only saw him across a big room once. You don’t know if he’s the one or not. Make it make sense.”
Oikawa pouted, he seems like he understands what the others are trying to say and as if he’s debating on whether he should go get him or just stare from afar.
“Do you know what else we should focus on?” Atsumu asked, getting everyone but Kenma’s attention. “We should think what should I do to stop Samu’s anger or else I’ll try to go to a convenience store in the dark because he didn’t cook for me and I would bump into some perverted serial killer and--”
“Okay, that’s enough. I’m ready to give all my savings to Osamu just so he would cook for you and you wouldn’t whine to me about all the possibilities of getting murdered by a random person tonight,” Sugawara said with his teeth clenched, stabbed a big piece of chicken with his fork. “Why did he get angry at you this time?”
Atsumu avoided eye contact, trying to act innocent, fiddling with his fingers. “I may or may not have eaten his onigiri and ramen this morning.”
“Again?” Akaashi doesn't seem that surprised.
“I knew it.” Oikawa shook his head.
“How many times did you and Osamu fight because of that exact reason? Huh? Make it make sense. Stop eating his shit and 80 percent of your fight will never happen,” Sugawara rambled while pointing at Atsumu with his fork.
“I didn’t know that it was his!” Atsumu protected himself.
“You said that you guys write your names on your food wrappings before putting it in the fridge,” Akaashi reminded while reading his book.
“I can’t read… like I said, I failed my literature. I’m Jared, 19.”
“I guess you have to buy Osamu a lot of food or just start cooking for yourself,” Oikawa said and shrugged.
“I don’t have money and I can’t cook.”
“You can. Stop lying!” Sugawara scolded.
“Then I don’t want to cook!”
“Then just sit there and watch me eat my very healthy and good for my body salad.”
Atsumu gagged dramatically like he just ate some type of poison. “I would never! Take that poison away from me!”
“It’s good for your health!” Sugawara shook his bowl of salad in front of Atsumu.
“I know the perfect plan to get Osamu not angry at you anymore,” Oikawa said with his eyes shining in excitement.
“What is it? Tell me! I’ll do anything to not cook for myself.”
Oikawa smiled and whispered to Atsumu’s ears. Atsumu’s own eyes started shining in excitement, knowing that Osamu will have no other way but to stop being mad at Atsumu.
“Kawa! You’re a genius!” he exclaimed loudly.
“He said that Kawa is a genius. It’s not a good idea,” Akaashi said in a terror.
“I’ll go to the music club and get everything ready. You just bring them, Kawa.”
Atsumu laughed and ran to the music club, leaving everything else to Oikawa. He excitedly went to Semi straight away and begged for some microphones and a big speaker. After a long bargaining, Semi agreed to lend the speaker and microphones in exchange for Atsumu taking Shirabu’s cute pictures in secret for Semi.
Atsumu then quickly went to the cheerleading club. He pulled Yachi to the side knowing that she’s the manager and begged for her to lend him the special big mochi mascot costume that they wore on the grand football match last year. After a lot of begging, Atsumu finally got the big mochi costume. He happily put on the costume. The costume is very big and soft; it’s white with light pink tint, and it has a small leaf poking from the head. It’s filled with big and soft cotton that it bounces whenever Atsumu jumps. The blond boy smiled and ran back to the school backyard where he placed the speaker and microphone. When he got to the backyard, he saw the others were ready. Oikawa fixed his hair and took the microphone, Sugawara took the other microphone with a deep sigh while Akaashi was standing a few steps away with Kenma who put his Nintendo down for once.
“Everyone ready?” Atsumu asked with shining eyes, Oikawa gave a thumbs up with a wink. “That window on the third floor is where Samu is at, he’s there with Aran-kun, probably thinking about food. Let’s start it!”
Oikawa started the music and Atsumu shouted with all his energy, trying to get Osamu’s attention. “Samu! Samu! Samu! It’s me, your first ever brother! I know you’re in there! Samu!”
Finally Osamu came to the window with an irritated face. He furrowed his brows at Atsumu when he saw him in the mochi costume. “What the fuck, Tsumu?!”
Oikawa started singing loudly and Atsumu started dancing and jumping, making hearts with his hands at Osamu while Sugawara did the adlibs with a tired face.
“This song is for my first brother, Miya Osamu! Please forgive me for eating your food!”
Oikawa sang: You know you love me~ I know you care~
“We’re just friends, what are you saying?!” Atsumu screamed at Osamu whose face got tomato red from all the other students laughing and recording. “My first brother broke my heart for the first time, and I was like!”
“Brother, brother, brother oh!
“What the fuck, Tsumu! Stop this madness or I’ll kill you!” Osama screamed with a red face.
Atsumu continued singing and dancing. He tried to do some dance he saw on social media but he couldn’t do it because of the costume. Students from all the floors came to the windows and watched them perform for Osamu; some recording and laughing loudly, some even cheer and sing loudly together.
“Suga, take it!” Atsumu pointed at Sugawara who rolled his eyes but still sang. Atsumu looked back at Osamu who looked like he was about to explode and continued his dance and started scream singing.
“When I was born, I had my first brother! There was nobody that compared to my brother and nobody came between us!”
They finally finished singing and Atsumu did a grand bow for his performance.
“Thank you. Thank you. It was yours truly, the one and only, Oikawa Tooru,” said the brunette boy while waving like a princess.
“Samu! Forgive me! I’ll sing another song if you’re still angry! Please, cook for me!”
“Don’t you dare sing again! Stay there, I’ll kick your stupid ass!” Osamu shouted and quickly got out of sight. Atsumu laughed and raised his hands at his friends with eyes filled with victory. Now Osamu can’t get angry at Atsumu for a long time, in fear that the blond twin might start to sing again.
“I was so cool,” Oikawa said with a proud face. Atsumu opened his mouth to say something back but his jaw dropped when he saw the star of their school, Bokuto Koutarou walked up to Akaashi with a big smile. He put his hand on his mouth to stop his screaming and pointed at them, getting Oikawa and Sugawara’s attention on them. The brunette and the silver haired boys also put their hands on their mouths, squealing and watching them in silence.
“That was a nice performance! Your friends are so funny anf outgoing!” Bokuto said with a bright smile - almost a little too innocent of a smile. Akaashi shrugged with no expression.
“My friends like to have fun sometimes, I guess.”
“Don’t you like to sing? I remember singing so loudly in the middle of the night, on an empty road, in the pouring rain for my bro, Kuroo. Ah, the happier times.”
Akaashi nodded his head in silence as he folded his hands and looked at Kenma who didn't even care enough to look at Bokuto, playing on his switch.
“I need to go. Bye.”
“Wait… I came to give you something,” Bokuto said with his cheeks turning red and scratching the back of his neck. He dug out his shirt and took out a red heart shaped lollipop and handed it to Akaashi with his cheeks matching the color of the lollipop. “Thought you’d like it.”
Akaashi stared at Bokuto and the lollipop for a moment, then took the lollipop and nodded at Bokuto, saying “thanks.”
“Then… I’ll see you around later. I’m Bokuto Koutarou, by the way,” he said with a bright smile.
“...Akaashi.”
“Agaashie! Even your name is beautiful!” Bokuto waved at Akaashi with blushed cheeks and walked away.
“What was that?! You were talking to the fricking Bokuto Koutarou and didn’t tell us?!” the trio screamed in union, making Akaashi flinch.
“No. We don’t talk, he’s been just annoying me since yesterday.”
“Why so suddenly?” asked Sugawara as he stared the back of the school heartthrob.
“I don’t know. Guess he’s just bored.”
“Or are you hiding him from us because you’re embarrassed or something?” Oikawa asked with his eyes squinted.
“Are you guys actually meeting up or something behind our back?” Sugawara asked with a teasing tone, making Akaashi’s cheeks get pink tinted.
“What are you talking about? We have nothing going on.”
The trio exchanged eye contact and Oikawa fixed his voice, getting ready to embarrass Akaashi more.
“Ah~ Bokuto~ it’s so big~”
“Stop it!” Akaashi said with his cheeks getting redder.
“Oh yeah~ Bokuto~ your dick brick hard like a medal~” Sugawara sang with a teasing voice and Atsumu moved his index finger into the hole the other one made.
Their teasing session was interrupted very suddenly by a very familiar kick from behind, making the short blond haired boy roll on the ground.
“That’s what you get for making fun of me in front of the whole school, you adopted little shit!” Osamu shouted with an angry voice. Atsumu winced in pain, but before he could say or do anything, Osamu held him by the small leaf on top of his costume and started dragging Atsumu away from his friends. Atsumu waved his friends back while getting dragged away by Osamu.
“See you guys later! I'm not going to make my dinner tonight!” Atsumu smiled in dignity, accomplishing his mission fully.
“I’ll tell ma’ what you’re doing with your equally stupid friends.”
“Don’t you dare, Samu! I poured my heart on that song I sang for you and this is how you pay me back?”
“Shut up! You embarrassed me in front of the whole school. You have no right to talk to me!”
“Are you going to give me dinner?”
“No! Go feed your fat ass yourself!”
Even though Osamu said that, Atsumu noticed that his voice is not fully angry at him and knew that he will give Atsumu dinner for sure.
“Thank you, oh, brother--”
“Say that again and I’ll kill you with my own hands!”
“Ara ara, sorry, I guess.”
Osamu let go of Atsumu and made him walk on his own. They walked back to give the big mochi costume back, even though Atsumu really liked the costume. He jumps up and down on the way to the gym hall, the soft plush material bounces every time that he jumps. Atsumu took a mental note to get himself a costume like this in the future and play with his big plushie stomach whenever he’s bored.
When they got to the gym, Osamu entered first. And when Atsumu was about to get inside, he felt like someone was watching him from somewhere. He turned back and looked around only to see no one near him. He shrugged and walked inside, thinking that it must be nothing.
Even though he didn’t see anyone around him, he continued to feel the same feeling the entire way back home. He spends a good amount of time looking back over his shoulders and every time, he sees no one, which almost drives him crazy.
Atsumu looked through the window, looked around his neighborhood and saw nothing suspicious. He closed his window and locked it, still feeling like someone is watching him even though he’s alone in his room. He went to bed, trying to erase the thoughts of someone watching him and tried to go to sleep.
Outside the window, across the road, a tall and dark figure appeared around the corner.
