Midoriya Izuku was afraid, after all, how could he not while witnessing the possible end of society. Feeling trapped in the block that should help him feel safe that U.A. provided traversing the underground tunnels to a place away from the fighting.
How could he not be afraid while he and his mom watched their home being destroyed by the one people were calling “The worst villain of all time”, Tomura Shigaraki.
Wanting to feel safe he tried turning to his mother, only to see her being consoled herself by one of her closest friends, a blonde woman whose only son just died in front of her eyes on the big screen televising the fight.
Not wanting to make his mother more anxious he tried distracting himself, however in that moment a comment from an U.A. support student that was taking a short break from maintaining the contraption that made us advance, while in the screen Shigaraki placed his hand on the ground, made his heart stop from a moment.
“Isn’t that place where we are right now?”
Not a few seconds later cracks could be heard from the ceiling and the little bit of his world that was left ceased to be in front of his eyes, his mother and her friend dying in front of his eyes and a few moments later joining her.
In those last moments, while life was flashing before his eyes Izuku asked himself “What was the moment that my world started dying out?” most people would respond with “When All Might died” or “When the Paranormal Liberation front attacked”. However his response would be “On that school rooftop, almost two years ago”.
But those were not his last thoughts.
‘Is this really how I die?’
‘I just wanted to help people’
‘This is so unfair, I don't want to die’
‘If only… If only i wasn’t quirkless’
‘Is this what it is like to die? I am even seeing things right now’
