Chapter Text

"Hello there, dear viewer, and welcome. You may call me The Eye. I am an observer of the multiverse, though I occasionally like to lend a helping... eye. Heh. Today, I'll be your guide through a rather unusual tale called A Walk in My UGGs, starring our favorite couple: Stan Marsh and Wendy Testaburger. ...Testaburger. Heh. Before we begin, this story takes place before the latest season—you know, before the whole President thing. Now then... Let's see what happens."

It was another chilly October afternoon in the quiet mountain town of South Park. Halloween week was only a few days away, and South Park Elementary buzzed with excitement. Every hallway was filled with students arguing over costumes, showing off ideas, or trying to guess what everyone else was going as. Near the lockers, Kyle, Jimmy, and Butters debated whether superheroes were too overdone this year, while somewhere else in the school, Cartman had somehow managed to spend half the afternoon hiding in the bathroom. It was Friday. Normally, that meant freedom. Homework could wait until Sunday, video games awaited, and the weekend stretched ahead like a reward after another long school week. For almost everyone.

Stan Marsh and Wendy Testaburger sat across from one another in Mr. Mackey's office. Stan leaned back in his chair with his arms folded tightly across his chest, refusing to make eye contact. Across from him, Wendy sat with her legs crossed and her arms folded just as tightly, staring daggers at him. Mr. Mackey looked between them before awkwardly clearing his throat. "So... mkay... what's the problem?" "...There isn't one," Stan muttered. "There is a problem!" Wendy shot back before Stan had a chance to continue. "When we agreed to do our science project together, you promised you'd decide on a topic." "I will." "When?" "...Eventually." Wendy stared at him in disbelief. "You seriously don't care, do you?" "I do care!" "Then show it!" "I already sent you the notes!" "You asked an AI to write them!" "...Well..." "You didn't even read them before sending them!" "Okay, okay, kids," Mr. Mackey interrupted, raising both hands. "Let's all calm down, mkay? I've noticed you two arguing all week." "He never takes anything seriously." "I do! She just needs every little label to be perfect." "I like getting things done!" Mr. Mackey sighed heavily and rubbed his forehead. Then... An idea struck him. "...Mkay." Slowly, he crouched beside his desk and opened the bottom cabinet. From inside, he carefully pulled out an old glass bottle filled with a bright blue liquid. Stan immediately frowned. "...Dude." "What the hell is that?" Wendy leaned forward. "It looks like something straight out of Harry Potter." Mr. Mackey proudly held it up. "I call this... Couple Emotional Reconnection." Stan blinked. "...You named it?" "I gave some to Craig and Tweek once. They said it tasted like Kool-Aid." Wendy took the bottle and squinted at the tiny label. "...What's actually in this?" "I couldn't tell ya, mkay." "...That inspires absolutely zero confidence." "So..." Stan asked. "You want us to drink mystery juice?" "Basically." "No thanks." "Yeah... that's incredibly suspicious." Mr. Mackey shrugged. "Alright then. Keep arguing." ... The room fell silent. Wendy let out a long sigh. "...Fine." She slipped the bottle into her backpack. "We'll drink it." Stan slowly turned toward her. "...We're actually doing this?" "We're actually doing this." "Just make sure you read the instructions," Mr. Mackey added. "They're important." The final bell echoed through the school, followed immediately by the familiar stampede of hundreds of students rushing into the halls. "Alright, Stan," Wendy sighed, slinging her backpack over one shoulder. "Come on." "...Whatever." The two left Mr. Mackey's office and made their way through the crowded hallways. Neither of them said a word. Normally, they would've walked together. Today, there was nearly ten feet between them.

The autumn air greeted them as they stepped outside. Orange and red leaves drifted lazily through the streets while groups of kids hurried home, already talking about Halloween costumes and weekend plans. Stan shoved his hands into his pockets. Wendy stared straight ahead. Neither one looked at the other. They eventually reached the sidewalk leading toward Wendy's house. She was supposed to spend the weekend at Stan's farm, helping with their science project. At least... That had been the plan. After the week they'd had, neither of them was sure it was still a good idea. Stan finally stopped walking. "...You don't have to come." Wendy stopped too. "What?" "If you don't want to spend the weekend with me..." He scratched the back of his neck. "...then don't." For a moment, Wendy simply looked at him. "I told you I'd come." "So... you're still coming?" "Yes." "...Even after everything?" "I keep my promises." Stan nodded. "...Okay." The silence returned. It lasted all of five seconds. "...I just wish you actually cared." Stan sighed loudly. "There it is." "What?" "The lecture." "I'm not giving you a lecture." "You kinda are." "I'm pointing out that you never put effort into anything!" "I put effort into stuff!" "Name one thing!" "..." "..." "...Video games?" Wendy closed her eyes. "Oh my God."

Stan suddenly stopped again. "You know what?" "What?" "Give me the bottle." Wendy frowned. "...Why?" "I wanna get this over with." "No." "Come on." "No." "Wendy." "Stan." He reached toward her backpack. "Stan, don't—" Too late. He had already snatched the bottle. "Stan! Read the instructions first!" "What? It's just Kool-Aid." Before Wendy could react, Stan pulled out the cork and took a massive gulp. "Gulp." "Gulp." "Gulp." He lowered the bottle. "...Huh." He smacked his lips. "Honestly?" "It really does taste like Kool-Aid." Wendy stared at him in complete disbelief. "...Stan..." "What?" "You just drank half of an unidentified liquid that Mr. Mackey pulled out of a filing cabinet." "...Yeah." "..." "...Fair." She looked at the bottle. Then at Stan. Then back at the bottle. "...Screw it." She grabbed it and drank the rest. The empty bottle slipped from her hand, bounced off the sidewalk... ...and shattered. "...Yep." She wiped her mouth. "Kool-Aid." Stan grinned. "See? I to—" BUUUUUUURP. The burp echoed down the empty street. Stan blinked. "...Whoa." Wendy couldn't help herself. She laughed. "...That was disgusting." "Shut u—" BUUUUUUUUUUURP. An even louder one escaped Wendy. Both of them froze. Stan slowly smiled. "...Yours was bigger." Wendy's cheeks instantly turned bright red. "..." "...Don't." "..." "...Say." "..." "...A word." Stan's grin somehow grew even wider.

Then... The smiles vanished. "...Uh..." Stan looked down at his hands. "...Wendy?" "...Yeah?" "...I don't think Kool-Aid is supposed to do this." Blue sparks crackled across the backs of his fingers. Tiny at first. Then another. Then dozens. The same shimmering light spread over Wendy's hands. "What the hell...?" The tingling sensation quickly climbed up their arms. Their legs suddenly felt heavy. Their balance disappeared. Both stumbled backward. "I... I feel weird." "My head..." "My whole body's..." The blue light erupted around them. Stan gasped as his shaggy black hair slid down past his shoulders. "No... no, no, no..." His voice cracked. Higher. Softer. His hoodie suddenly felt far too loose in some places... ...and much tighter in others. Across from him, Wendy doubled over. Her long hair rapidly pulled back into her scalp, shortening inch by inch. Her face shifted. Her shoulders broadened. Her chest flattened. Both of them collapsed onto the pavement as the strange energy continued reshaping every inch of their bodies. There was no pain. Only the overwhelming, nauseating sensation that their bodies no longer belonged to them. The light vanished. Silence. Stan slowly pushed himself upright. "...Ow..." Something brushed across his face. Hair. Lots of hair. "...What the fuck?" He grabbed at the long strands hanging in front of his eyes. "...Why is my hair so long?" His voice... His voice wasn't his. It was— "..." "...Why do I sound like Wendy?" He looked down. His clothes suddenly felt wrong. His hoodie hung off his shoulders, while his jeans sagged around his waist. His hands... They were smaller. Slender. Delicate. He froze. Across from him stood another teenager. He wore Wendy's pink beret. Wendy's purple jacket. Her jeans. Short black hair framed a familiar face. His own. "..." "...Stan?" the boy asked in a very familiar voice. Stan's eyes slowly widened. "...Wendy?" The two simply stared. Neither of them moved. Neither of them blinked. Neither of them breathed. Then, at exactly the same time— "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
