The second day was much more tense than the first had been. Sansa had expected that having Arya with her would be to some degree, a comfort, she knew her sister was safe and where she was and Arya was hardly a frightened girl, but she was wrong. She was more scared than ever before.
Arya was a raging storm and Sansa was scared she would get them in worse danger. An escape from the tower could be a doomed endeavour. If she was not what was demanded of her, Sansa was not oblivious enough to presume that they would not be hurt for it, or worse. She was scared that she wouldn’t be able to save Arya should she be in trouble.
It was tense but mostly peaceful until she came back from meeting with Cersei on that third day. She doesn’t know how and she doesn’t know who would even have said but somehow Arya had found out.
“You told them.” She said when Sansa returned, her voice quieter than Sansa had expected it to be even if she knew it wasn’t to last.
“I didn’t know it would cause this. I just…I thought it would help.”
“Who? You? You’re the reason we’re trapped here and Father’s imprisoned!”
“I am not! He did it! He, he did it to himself by lying and..and he committed treason, Arya! Not me!”
“You don’t believe that…”
It hurt to hear the disgust and disbelief in Arya’s voice but it wasn’t like she knew. She didn’t hear how their father had betrayed Joffrey and his father like that. Sansa didn’t believe her father did it maliciously or perhaps even intentionally but it was done and she needed to find some way to avoid the punishment she knew was coming. She would struggle so much more with that if all Arya can do is shout and glare at her.
“It doesn’t matter what I believe. It happened.”
