HellCheer oneshots

Summary:

Miscellaneous Oneshots about Chrissy Cunningham and Eddie Munson.

Work Text:

A/n: This is a collection of miscellaneous one shots that have nothing to do with each other, about Eddie Munson and Chrissy Cunningham or HellCheer.

Eddie could hardly believe that she had actually asked if she could come to one of his shows- the girl he probably didn’t deserve, wanted to come to The Hideout- dingy bar floors, crude drunks and peanut shells littering the bar- and watch him play. Of course he enthusiastically said yes- hell yes- it was Chrissy Cunningham. If she asked, the answer was always yes. Chrissy had arrived with Dustin, Eddie’s best friend in the world- Dustin came to all of his shows, like his own hype man, as they call it. Chrissy didn’t look like she belonged at this dingy place but, the smile from her face couldn’t be wiped. Eddie had a black bandanna wrapped around his head as Corroded Coffin finished their set- the manager never let them play for too long. Eddie lifted Chrissy into his arms in a hug, he wasn’t an affectionate guy most of the time- his past girlfriends or most of them hookups- had all been alternative chicks, interests similar to his…but Chrissy? She was a complete wildcard- and Eddie loved a challenge.

Chrissy’s arms immediately went around his neck, her feet not touching the ground anymore due to their height difference.

“I heard your song!” Chrissy pulled back to look at him, giving him that dazzling smile he loved so much.

“You did?! And what did you think of it?” Eddie had asked girls in the past and was immediately humbled- asking Chrissy took everything he had in him but, she was just too cute not to ask.

“It was pretty cool, actually.” Chrissy was never anything but honest, a bad liar really. Eddie could tell as put her on the ground again- and she craned her neck to look at him- she really meant it.

“Aw.” Eddie pulled her into his chest, kissing the top of her head.

“Whipped.” Dustin cupped and shouted from the doorway, with a smirk- indicating he was only playing.

“Henderson, I don’t want to hear it. If Suzie were here, you’d be a molton mess.” Eddie put his arm around Chrissy, leading them out of the bar.

“Not since she broke up with me- I’m a lone wolf. Again.” Dustin wasn’t necessarily down in the dumps- just annoyed.

“Lone wolf? Really?” Eddie was just surprised the term ‘lone wolf’ came out of Dustin’s mouth.

“Yep- I’ve already got my eye on someone who has no interest in me. It’s great.” Dustin smirked with a shoulder shrug- but you could see the pain behind his self deprecating humor. Dustin didn’t want to be alone, it was really hard for him to get a girlfriend in the first place.

“How do you know she’s not interested?” Chrissy asked, ever the hopeful one.

“Because she’s dating my best friend, Mike.” Dustin supplied.

“Oh shit- that superpower girl. Right? El? Is that her name?” Eddie had never met the girl in his life, only heard stories while playing DnD with Dustin and Mike.

“Well- she has powers. Yeah. El has a very complex backstory- but, she’s a good person who’s just trying to lead a normal life. I shouldn’t get in the way- even if I’ve liked her since- well, forever. But, Mike saw her first and was the first person that was kind to her. El didn’t meet us until later- and she loves him. So.” Dustin over explained, shrugging his shoulders- looking completely defeated.

“Henderson- do you like this girl?” Eddie patiently asked, stopping by his van to grab a pack of cigarettes.

“Well- yeah. What’s that got to do with anything?” Dustin wondered.

“If you like El- you have to tell her! You can’t make up her mind for her. Girls don’t like that- I would know, I’m a girl!” Chrissy wanted to roll her eyes but, she settled for sounding just a bit passive aggressive.

“Should listen to Chrissy, she’s always right.” Eddie lit his cigarette, a blush began to make its way onto her face.

“I know I should but, Mike will be pissed.” Dustin groaned.

“I know you and Wheeler have been friends for a long time but, you can’t help if you catch the love bug. You just can’t- I tried. Is there any way you can talk to El alone?” Eddie had denied that he liked Chrissy for so long, but eventually he had to admit defeat. Not even Eddie Munson was strong enough to take on the love bug.

“Well, I guess I could call her- she’s in California. I’d like to do it in person but, there’s no way my mom could afford a plane ticket.” Dustin racked his brain.

“Road trip?” Eddie smirked, looking from Chrissy to Dustin. They had just finished junior year, and had nothing better to do.

“Road trip.” Chrissy confirmed with a nod.

“Well, Chrissy is obviously the boss. Guess we’re going to Lenora Hills.” Dustin scratched the back of his neck- a habit he’d picked up from Steve.

“Ahh, Henderson finally learns!” Eddie pumped one fist in the air, Chrissy laughed softly as they piled into Eddie’s van and went off on their newest adventure.
