Work Text:
Dominilde had been married a week, and she was already regretting it. She should never have let Bernulf talk her into this. So she left her husband sleeping, and slipped off into the night.
She chose the name Alice for the woman she became then. Alice, unlike the woman playing her, was unattached and free. Carefree as even sweet Sara had never been, so long ago. Unlike Sara, Alice would never suffer enough to become Bernegilde who became Dominilde, for Alice wasn’t real. She was just an escape.
So Alice went out, and found someone to lie with. Her name was Olivia, and she was good fun. It would never be anything more than a night, but Alice, and the woman behind her, could appreciate a good night. She’d had far too few.
