Chapter Text
''You show up to work only a few times a week! This is unacceptable, you can't just show up one day then disappear for the next four days!"
shouted Lisbon.
''I know, I'm sorry I'm trying my best! Do you think I'm proud of myself?!"
you shouted back.
''Well no, but you really make a bigger effort because I'm gonna have to fire you if you don't get yourself together! You're an adult, not a goddamn kid, you have some responsibilities!"
"I know! And, and I'm sorry! I truly am! Give me another chance. Please!"
you begged while Jane entered the room and asked what's going on.
"You know what..I'm done. I quit, I'm leaving this place.''
you said and threw your badge on the table. You took your documents and left the room.
''What the fuck was that?''
Jane asked.
''I..I don't know..go see her."
Lisbon answered, upset.
Jane left the room and started searching you, ending up in the locker rooms, finding your locker opened and empty. You must've left. There was a small paper on the floor, Jane picked it up. It was in your writing.
"Don't try to find me.''
Jane put the note in his pocket and ran back to the office.
''She's gone. I'm gonna go find her. Maybe she's just gone to her apartment.''
''Hm..alright..be safe'' Lisbon said quietly.
Jane nodded and left the room, heading towards the elevator. When he left the building he started heading to your apartment building. Half an hour later, he was standing outside of your apartment. He was knocking but nobody was answering. A neighbor who was leaving his apartment noticed Jane.
''Hey, y'know nobody lives here right? The girl got kicked out a few day ago.''
Jane turned to look at the guy.
''Wait, really? Do you know where she is?'' he asked.
The guy just shrugged and locked his door. Jane sighed and spent the rest of the week trying to find you, but nobody could find you. You were gone.
Few months later..
After you've gone missing, Jane spent the incoming months missing you and doing his best to find you.
During a cold cloudy October day, Jane was walking home from work and wanted to stop at a random coffee shop. He saw a girl who looked homeless begging for money on the side road. He sighed and gave her a few cents.
''Thanks.'' the girl said in a quiet voice. Jane froze. He recognized this voice. He did, he just couldn't recognize it yet. It felt so familiar yet so unknown. Like those unforgettable dreams that you only remember a part of. Jane just awkwardly nodded and walked away. A minute after walking away, he knew who's voice it was. It was yours. He turned and rapidly got back to the corner on the side of the road. You were standing up, about to leave when someone took your hand from behind. You got scared so you turned around. It was Jane, the guy you loved and would do anything for. There he was.
