Worship

Summary:

This woman, arguably the most powerful person in the entire solar system, could be reduced to something so wonderfully simple by this single word, because it came from her voice.
Kiana.
Her Kiana.
The world cherished their Goddess, perhaps, but she was worshipping the woman she loved and always had loved in her own way.
And tonight, it was by gently kissing her in the middle of a half-ruined kitchen.

Work Text:

It was night, or the equivalent of night on the Lunar base. Time and it’s measurement has always been a bit in flux, depending on who you asked between Tesla, Bronya or Theresa, everyone having their own schedules and agendas to push, but since the place became more or the center place for anything moon related, the agreed upon time was the same as if they were all back to St Freya.

It was perhaps an unreasonable decision, and one who asked to try to synchronise with all other elements that were interested in exploring the moon and it’s secrets, and, if she thought too much about it, a decision that made Mei’s heart feel a lot of different sentiments.

Sadness, remembering the old times where their lives felt oh so simple despite all the troubles but also fondness because it meant these times would never be forgotten.

She put down the tablet she had in her hands, full of lessons for the new generation of Valkyries that were being trained at St Freya. Mei, and everyone else, was trying their best to train these new young girls based on the lessons they themselves learned, sometimes the hard way.

The new times were for sure kinder to life on Earth, but it brought it’s new lot of challenges and it was on them to tackle it.

A snore, alongside her. Mei smiled, looking down on Rice Cake that was deep asleep on a chair near Mei. She looked so small, replied on herself, sleeping gently, and yet whenever awake she was a little helion, always looking for new adventures and some snacks.

If you’d had told Mei even just a few months back that she would be responsible, for all intent and purpose, a child, she would have laughed. And yet, the day she saw her, it felt right. She wanted to give that child all the love possible, and to make her grow into a responsible adult.

She laughed softly at that thought.

Yeah, a responsible adult.

There was perhaps too much of the other person responsible for Rice Cake for her to ever become that, but one could always dream to at least be sure she could always handle whatever trouble life could throw at her. And it was perhaps all one could ask for.

She stretched her arms.

Speaking of… Before getting absorbed into her lessons, her other half had fallen asleep on her knees and she wasn’t anywhere to be seen right now. Based on past experience, if she wasn’t hearing her girlfriend it meant that was either asleep, doing something that would been seen by other people as a mistake, or it meant she was dead.

Finishing that last thought, she heard noise coming from what served as the kitchen aboard the base. Mei smiled. Based on the hour, it wasn’t probably Klein, and so she had a pretty good idea of who it could be.

She got up and moved towards the kitchen.

And as expected, she observed the woman she loved making what appeared to be three of the biggest sandwiches possible this side of the solar system, while the kitchen appeared to be less of a space to prepare food and more like a Honkai incursion had just happened, blowing up specifically the fridge, before disappearing.

Mei leaned against the door frame, making sure to not make any noise while the most beautiful woman she knew was concerned about a battle against what probably had been at some point a very large piece of ham.

As she observed the battle unfolding, Mei thought that there something almost unfair about the other woman existence.

She was bright. Passionate. Able to lift up the spirits of anyone she ever met. Powerful enough to tear apart the heavens if she wished for it. Carrying the fate of an entire world on her shoulders. Loving Earth and every human being on this lonely planet so much that sometimes it felt too much, but never actually was.

Elysia had been like this for the previous era, but this woman was this wish fulfilled. Sometimes she wished the two women had met, because she knew they would have been the best of friends almost instantly with how much they resembled each others. Other times her more possessive instincts were glad to be one of the few to know this side of the woman she loved.

She was hers, even if thinking like this embarrassed her sometimes. She couldn’t and wouldn’t claim that Earth’s Goddess was hers only, but sometimes in her more weak moment she couldn’t help but to think it.

Somewhere, on the planet downside, some people were praying to her. People who thought of her with awe, gratitude and even something akin to reverence.

And so, while Mei wouldn’t compete with the people of Earth for the love of their Goddess, Mei knew of a smaller miracle.

“Kiana.” She said gently.

The sandwich warrior, in the middle of losing her battle with sir Ham, turned immediately towards her, almost if by pure instinct.

It was something funny and so very sweet about Kiana. Just saying her name was enough. Maybe it was selfish of her, but she enjoyed saying that name softly, and watching these bright eyes that she has known forever turn towards her.

Once they had been full of yearning, and even of sadness.

But no more.

“Mei!” Kiana answered, trying sheepishly to hide the massacre going on in the kitchen, a little bit of a flush starting to appear on her cheecks. “I was trying to make some food for when you had finished and…”

The words were cut from her mouth as Mei took her in her arms. Without hesitation, Kiana hugged her back.

“Kiana…” Mei whispered in her ear. She felt Kiana melt in her embrace, and it was… intoxicating.

This woman, arguably the most powerful person in the entire solar system, could be reduced to something so wonderfully simple by this simple of a word, because it came from her voice.

Kiana.

Her Kiana.

The world cherished their goddess perhaps, but she was worshipping the woman she loved and always had loved in her own way.

And tonight, it was by gently kissing her in the middle of a half ruined kitchen. Her hand reached Kiana’s cheek, touching it softly as their lips separated. Feeling Kiana’s warm breath on her skin was intoxicating, still feeling like the first time they kissed even after all this time.

“Mei…” Kiana’s voice trembled, and it made Mei feel ravenous. Right now, Earth’s Goddess was putty in her hands, as they started exploring the other woman. Kiana’s eyes were on her, and it felt downright unfair how it felt she was the one being worshipped all along.

Kiana’s hands found her way on Mei’s back and she started pushing her towards the wall.

“Mei, I…”

Her words were cut off by another kiss from Mei.

“I love you too, Kiana.”

She knew Kiana’s ever weaknesses. And she had no issues pushing all of her buttons when she wanted to. Maybe it was wrong. Maybe she shouldn’t enjoy it this much. But these thoughts always vanished when she felt the intoxication of Kiana crying out her name in intimacy, or whispering it softly when they woke up together in the room they shared.

She kissed Kiana once more, before pulling back just enough to breathe.

“Greedy.” Kiana whispered.
“You started it.” Mei, answered, her nose gently brushing against Kiana’s.
“Did I, now?”
“Yeah, by being this cute.”

Another kiss. Against the wall of the kitchen space. There was nothing else in the universe at the moment. Only them.

“What would your students think, if they saw you like this?” Kiana asked, smiling smugly.
“Probably impressed…” Mei’s knee moved in a very dangerous position for Kiana’s, making her shudder. “… seeing how she can handle the best Valkyrie on Earth.” She exhaled, her breath caressing Kiana’s visage, making her flush more and more. Mei’s hand started descending, caressing Kiana’s back, slowly but with purpose. “Some might even get a crush on me seeing me dominate Earth’s Godess…”

She saw the surge of possessiveness in Kiana’s eyes instantly and part of Mei, possibly the most shameful parts, felt happy.

“No.” Kiana said firmly, pushing Mei agains the wall, pushing her whole body against her.

“You’re mine.”
“Oh yeah?” Mei said, mirth and excitation in her voice. “Then prove it.”

A ravenous kiss. Hands roaming.

Mei knew it wasn’t the place. She probably should have put a stop to it now. But seeing Kiana’s hunger in her eyes awakened everything in her. She wasn’t with Earth Godess, or Kiana the Valkyrie.

She was with Kiana.

Her Kiana.

Kiana started grinding. Mei hand started to reach under Kiana’s pants, starting to…

*THUNK*

They both jumped from the wall, still flushed and half panting. Who…

Bronya was looking at them and the ruined kitchen from the other side of the room, a very unimpressed expression on her face, and a food tray having apparently just fallen on the ground.

“I’ve been waiting for thirty minutes, where’s my sandwich, Idiotka.”

Mei looked at Kiana, while Kiana looked back at her, half sorry and half pleadingly.

“I… got… distracted.” Her face was beet red.
“I can see that.” Bronya said, her face betraying no emotion.

Mei started snickering.

“Don’t laugh! That was your fault you know!”
“You didn’t stop me.”
“Meiiiiiii!” Kiana said, indigently.

Mei couldn’t help it. She loved hearing her name on these lips, no matter the context. Still, it was indeed part because of her. She moved towards Kiana, kissing her on the cheek.

“Come on” Mei said, taking Kiana’s hand. “Let’s save Bronya’s late night snack, even if I don’t think Seele would approve. But...” She squeezed gently her girlfriend’s hand. “We’re finishing this later.”

The flush came back to Kiana’s cheeks. She looked at Mei, eyes full of yearning that it made Mei’s heart take a leap. Kiana then looked at Bronya.

“You know, Rice Cake really wanted to stay with you tonight…”
“Make me the best sandwich you can and never mention this to Seele and it’s a deal, Idiotka.”

Notes:

It's been a while since I wrote a fic, but I had this thought about how Mei must feel, knowing that the most powerful woman in the world melt in her arms or in her eyes. Hope you enjoyed it! Might do a follow up with the follow up to this kitchen action down the line hehehe.
