How many New Yorkers have pink hair?

Summary:

Jude is an insufferable prick, but Pablo Gavi has never been known to back down from a dare no matter how idiotic it might be.

Especially when it comes to humbling the Human Torch.

Notes:

Hi guys!!!!! I assume it's mostly my oomfs who will read this and I love you all :)

Shout out to Lani because without her I would never be this spideytorch Judgavi pilled or brave enough to post any of my work.

Also shoutout to Ky for fixing some errors :p

I hope you enjoy!! This is a stand alone rn but I might expand in the future!

Work Text:

Jude was floating above a battle where Spiderman had just finished taking down one of his silly bad guys that love to roam around Queens.

“Wow, Spidey, I’m impressed. I didn’t think those webs of yours could get you around so fast.”

Pablo jumped at the sudden voice.

“How long have you been standing there? And don’t call me that. We aren’t friends.”

“You wound me. I’ve been watching your battle for like 5 minutes. I feel like that’s friendly.”

“And you didn’t think to help?”

“Seems like you handled it pretty well to me. I didn’t realize Spiderman wanted help from The Human Torch.”

“I don’t.”

“Exactly what I thought. I’m curious now though.”

Pablo interrupted Jude before he could finish his sentence.

“Oh great, just what the world needed. More questions from Jude Bellingham.”

“No I’m serious. How fast can you go?”

“Well the dexterity of the webbing when aimed in a certain way can act as the-”

Jude interrupted him this time.

“No no I don’t care about the science I’m not Jobe. I think we should race.”

“I’m not racing you.” Pablo turned around and tried to swing away but Jude followed him.

“C’mon Spidey, don’t be so boring.”

“Don’t call me that.”

“Don’t you want to know who’s faster? My flames or your speed?”

“I don’t actually really care right now. I’m quite tired and since you did nothing to help I’m going home now.”

“Scared you’ll lose?”

Pablo pauses. He knows Jude is just trying to goad him into racing. But he’s never been known to back down from a dare like that. One from Jude is not going to be his first time.

“I don’t lose.” He responded, turning around to face Jude again from his perch on a nearby roof.

“So you’re in? I guess we’ll find out if that’s true.”

“Okay, fine, I’m in. Where are we racing?”

“Hmmm. First one to the Baxter Building wins. And the last one has to dye their hair pink.” Jude smirks.

“I’m not doing that. You’re just trying to make it easier to discover my civilian identity.”

“I thought you didn’t lose? You don’t want to see Jude Bellingham ruining his perfect hair by bleaching it and dying it pink?”

“Okay fine. I agree to your terms. I’m winning anyway.”

“Ready, set-” Jude takes off toward the Baxter building yelling “GO.” as he starts.

“YOU DAMN CHEATER.” Pablo takes off right behind him.

Unfortunately, the lead, as small as it was, was enough for Jude to arrive at the Baxter building before Pablo. He was standing on the terrace of the Fantastic 4’s living room, laughing at Pablo’s misfortune.

“Looks like Spidey loses to the Torch.” Pablo swats at him.

“Shut up, and stop calling me that! You’re a damn cheater!”

“The conditions are the conditions. I want to see pink hair tomorrow.”

“How will you even know if I honor it huh? I’m not taking my mask off.”

“I want a picture.”

“I’m not just going to send you a picture of my face.”

“Obviously not. Just your hair. It’d be too easy if you sent me your whole face. I want to figure you out the old-fashioned way. Just need to make sure you honor the bet is all.”

“I don’t think this is a good idea Jude.”

“Give me your phone.” Jude takes Pablo’s phone and puts in his number. “There, just send me a photo of your hair when you’re done.”

“That’s too obvious.”

“C’mon Spidey, it’s New York. There’s a million people walking around with bright pink hair. It’s not like I see your civilian identity every day and would notice if you suddenly had pink hair. Stop being paranoid.”

Pablo’s mask hid his grimace. He took his phone from Jude though and saved the new contact.

“Whatever Torch, I’m going home now, to my bed, where I can sleep soundly knowing I’m not a damn cheater.”

Jude had already begun to walk toward the sliding glass doors that led to his house.

“As long as your hair is dyed pink before I don’t really care how well you sleep. Thanks for walking me home Spidey.” He said turning around to wink before walking fully inside.

‘I didn’t walk you-” The door shut and Pablo was left alone outside to regret his many many mistakes.
