Chapter Text
The slow, steady autumn air whispered slowly around the front porch. The door bell rang loudly. A stray leaf blew across the dead grass covered in a mountain of red burning leafs. Coy’s breath travelled into the wind as he stood, waiting. He shifted his feet slowly as the air suddenly picked up its pace and the front door opened.
“Finally! I’ve been waiting forever!” A girl appeared as the front door swung open.
It was none other than Coy’s only friend, Hanbon. She had been best friends with Coy since elementary school when she moved across the road from him. They hung out frequently, despite the contrast between Hanbon, one of the most popular girls in school, and Coy, a stereotypical nerd theatre kid.
“Just let me in please! It’s freezing out here.” Coy shivered and rushed inside to feel the warmth of Hanbon’s house wash over him.
“We’re all set up in the basement. And Will and Anthony are staying the night down there too. Anthony claimed his room was ‘too small’”. Hanbon groaned.
Anthony was Hanbon’s older brother and like his sister, one of the most popular jocks at their school. He was only a few months older than Hanbon but still claimed her his little sister. Coy also had an embarrassingly big crush on him.
Hanbon opened the basement door and Coy followed her down the stairs and into the basement area. It was quite small, and the 4 beds were set up and squished all together in the small area. Anthony and Will were sitting on the couch, controllers in hand, playing on the Wii.
Coy and Hanbon entered the basement and sat down on the beds as Anthony and Will finished their game.
“That was hard.. I’m in need of a drink.” Stated Anthony. He reached behind the couch and pulled out a can of beer.
“Seriously Anth? How many times have you stolen from that one liquor cupboard again? 48,643?” Hanbon sighed.
Anthony ignored her and turned to Coy.
“Hey, you want some?” He pointed the can in Coy’s direction.
“Yea sure,” Coy replied as Anthony began filling him a cup and passed it to him. Their fingertips brushed slightly and lingered there for a moment as the cup was exchanged until Coy cleared his throat softly.
“S..sorry.” Coy stuttered and quickly took the cup.
“Shit!” Coy hissed as some of the beer spilled onto his shirt.
“Hanbon! Quickly, get some paper towels!” Anthony exclaimed.
Hanbon disappeared and then came back with a bundle of toilet paper.
“Seriously Bon? You couldn’t find something that may or may not have touched someone's ass?” Coy said as Hanbon quickly wiped the mess.
She tried her best, but in the end, Coy’s shirt was covered in a pee-yellow colour.
“I’m sure it’ll come out!” Hanbon assured.
They all sat down on the couch and fell into a comfortable silence for a few seconds until Will spoke up.
“Anyone wanna go get ice cream?” He asked quietly.
-
“So what? Just because I dated Lord Patterson doesn’t mean I like people who are asses!” Coy exclaimed.
“Sure..” Hanbon accused.
“Coy.. you still have the stain from the beer.” Anthony pointed out. He began pulling off his hoodie.
“Wait, I have an extra sweater in my bag!” Hanbon voiced.
“No offence Bon, but I don’t think Coy wants to be wearing one of your sparkly pink hoodies.”
Anthony continued taking his hoodie off.
“I don't even wear sparkly pink hoodies!” Hanbon defended.
Anthony then threw a pale green hoodie at Coy.
A waft of strong wood and hazelnut chocolate hit as the jumper landed smack bang in the middle of Coy’s face.
“Thanks Anthony!” He muffled from underneath the fabric.
-
“Cmon just choose a flavour, Anthony!” Hanbon whined.
“It’s called testing, Hanbon. I want to expand my taste palette.” Anthony replied.
Before Hanbon could answer, the bell on the door of the shop rang loudly as loud laughter bounced off the walls.
“Anthony Po? Will Wahony? I didn’t expect to see you here with these queers!” Matthew walked in confidently.
“Hey, isn’t that your jumper?” One of his friends (whom Coy had forgotten the name of) remarked as he pointed at Coy.
“Aw! Someone stole their crushes jumper! Well guess what! He doesn't like you back you dirty faggo-” Matthew was cut off by a punch straight to his jaw. And behind the punch, none other than Anthony Po.
And with that, the 4 ran outside.
