Marco sipped his milkshake. “So what was the deal with those giant robots?”
“I have no idea,” Hekapoo replied as she set down her flaming beverage. “But it was pretty rude of those guys to just leave them here for us to clean up.”
“Yeah, super weird how they just came through a portal and left through another one,” Marco agreed. “Have you seen monsters like that before?”
“You mean with weird-shaped heads?” Hekapoo frowned. “Not those specific ones, no. I have no idea what dimension they even came from.”
“I mean, the head shapes were definitely weird, but I was talking about the blue platypus-looking thing,” Marco clarified. “I’ve never seen anything like that.”
“What’s a platypus?”
“It’s, uh… it’s an Earth animal. But they don’t usually wear hats.”
“Huh.”
They sat in silence for a bit before Marco remarked, “You heard the song in the background too, right?”
