Chapter Text
Dear Evan Hansen,
Today is going to be a good day and here is why:
Evan kept on thinking how today was going to be a good day. Today wasn't a good day.
He hasn't had a 'good day' in years.
"Hey, how is your arm feeling?" Heidi asked Evan, breaking his train of thought. He quickly shut his laptop.
"Um good I guess." Evan answered anxiously while fidgeting with his fingers. He's been wearing a cast for a few weeks because of his failed suicide attempt. Thanks to his stupid reflexes he fell on left arm saving his life. He can't even die right.
"Have you been writing those letters for Dr. Sherman?" Heidi asks, breaking the silence.
"I started one." Evan said avoiding eye contact.
"Okay make sure you finish it by tomorrow after school."
"I thought I have therapy till Monday of next week." Evan said, perplexed. Evan hated therapy; he thought it was a big waste of time. He has been writing those dumb letters to himself for a while now and it didn't help at all. And all therapy is, is Dr. Sherman going through the same questions and asking him how he is feeling. Evan just lies and says something on the lines of 'I am doing good'. Which might be the reason why he is not getting better but who cares.
"I know, but I called and scheduled more appointments. I thought you might have needed them because tomorrow is your first day of school, And the appointments can help you talk to people and maybe make some friends." Heidi said a little bit nervous because she was scared how her son may react.
"Okay..." Evan sighed. He was a bit upset at how Heidi always acts like he needs to be fixed.
"Goodnight Evan, don't stay up too late." Heidi then shuts the door. Evan was just left with himself, again.
