Chapter Text
Ling wasn’t sure what just happened. One second she was chasing what was seemingly a shooting star, the next a strange girl fell out of a weird looking diamond space ship and kissed her (kissed!!), sang, and immediately knocked out. She sat there, dumbstruck, gaze not leaving the girl in front of her as she tried and failed to process the thoughts that were running wildly in her mind. ‘What the heck was that?! Who is this girl, and what the heck kind of space ship did she just fall out of?! There’s like, no space in there! What am I even supposed to do with her! I guess I could carry her home and wait until she wakes up, but can I really just leave this thing here? Would that be kidnapping?? Man, I can’t deal with this on top of our upcoming performa–’ that last thought gave her a pause. Suddenly, she jumped upright and screamed.
“The performance! The music sheet! I completely lost it! Urgh, this day has been a complete disaster!” She screamed again, pacing around wildly. Slumping back down, she heaved out a long sigh. “No point in worrying about it right now, I guess. Jeez, what a pain,” she said. Glancing back at the strange girl, she shuffled over and heaved the girl onto her back, preparing herself for the long walk back to her house.

As soon as Ling entered the house, she dumped the girl onto the couch and plopped to the floor in a wheezing mess. ‘I’m so glad I left my guitar at the school, there’s no way I could’ve carried that and this girl back,’ she thought, relieved. She closed her eyes and felt herself drifting off, when a door further inside of the house slammed open. Eyes snapping open, she huffed as her older brother slid through the door frame.
“Ling, where were you?! You were supposed to be back at least an hour ago!” Longya rushed over as she got off of the ground, hovering over her and checking her over. She shoved him away.
“Jeez, relax! It’s not like I was mugged or anything. I just got a bit preoccupied s’all, stop being such a worrywart! I’m not six, y’know,” she rolled her eyes.
“Caught up with what? Practice shouldn’t have taken that long and–” his eyes trail to the direction that Ling is pointing to, “Who is that?!”
“Long story, but basically she just appeared in a field, crashed into me, and fainted. Didn’t know what to do, so I just brought her here,” Longya gave her a sceptical look. “What, do you really think I would lie about this?”
“I guess not… Jeez, you’re lucky mom and dad are on a business trip, they would’ve freaked out,” Longya said.
“Yeah, probably. Whatever, I’m super pooped, so I’m gonna head off to bed,” Ling waved him off and walked out of the room, covering her mouth as she took a massive yawn. Longya watched as she left, an exasperated look left on his face. Turning back around to the stranger on the couch, he grabbed the blanket left folded over the couch and laid it out over her, leaving her to sleep for the night.
