Chapter Text
Jasper was shocked to see the Diamonds ship in the distance.
+Why are they here?… who am I kidding, they're obviously here for that stupid twerp.+
She had seen the ship come down from the sky and rushed to the edge of the forest to see. Now that she was there, she could see the whole human town. Well, what was left of it. It had broken buildings and cracks with a pink fluid flowing through it. Jasper had no idea what had happened but guessed it had something to do with that giant injector. She noticed the awful green organisms on the hill had died, making her softly chuckle to herself.
+It must've been that pink stuff, I wonder if I could gather some to use on my h- area.+
She couldn't believe she had almost called this planet her home. Homeworld was her home! Even if she came from this planet's kindergarten, it didn't mean she had to accept it!
+Right?+
+It doesn't matter. That stuff can help me get rid of the stupid life invading my area.+
The grass had repeatedly grown back when she tore it out. It was persistent, which was honorable, but futile because she would just tear it out again.
Jasper started to descend down the cliff, sliding through the gravel and sand. It didn't take long to approach one of the cracks on the edge of the town. She looked in and noticed the fluid was farther down then she thought it would be, she needed something to scoop it up. She grabbed the top of a half-crushed car and ripped it off, bending it into a bowl-like shape. She couldn't reach the liquid from the top, so she climbed down the side of the crack, jabbing her hand and foot into the wall. She scooped up the pink liquid and quickly jumped up to the surface. The liquid splashed around as she tried to balance it. When she finally regained her balance she started to walk forward, step by step, to not spill the liquid. That's when she heard it, a loud crash. Abandoning the liquid, she hid behind the rubble of the torn up car.
Clak clak clak clak
Jasper looked at the mirror of the car to see if she could tell what the noise was.
She angled it slightly and saw a gem standing at the edge of the crack. She was a green gem, like a dull peridot. Her suit and hair were a more forest green color. She had her visor up and Jasper couldn't see her gem anywhere. She had limb enhancers and two extra arms extending from her back, along with a large bow that looked out of place from the rest of the gem.
+Is she a fusion? No, they look more like extensions. Why is she here? Is she from Little Homeworld? Who is she?+
Jasper's head filled with questions and thoughts, curious to what she was doing.
The gem pulled out a small vial and gave it to a small orb robot that Jasper hadn't noticed. It reminded her of that Peridots little machines they complained about being broken. Of course, that no longer mattered because that Peridot no longer liked her, not that she did very much before. The orb took the vial and awkwardly wobbled down the wall. After a few seconds the orb wobbled back up the wall and handed the vial of pink liquid to the gem. They grabbed it with one of their extra arms and it vanished behind their back.
+That must be where their gem is. Behind that giant bow.+
Jasper couldn't imagine why this gem was here. She wasn't sure what to do in the situation. Usually, she would just rush in and ask questions later, but that hadn't worked out the past few times. She hated hiding and running too, it felt cowardly. Before she could question the subject more, she shifted her body, accidentally cracking some glass behind her. The gem looked right at the broken car. Jasper did not move an inch.
Clak clak calk
Jasper heard the footsteps getting… weaker?
She looked over the car and saw the gem running. As an instinct, Jasper started chasing after them. Equipping her helmet, Jasper jumped over the crack and was catching up easily. The gem looked back at her, and two more extensive arms came from the bow. The four arms started firing at Jasper as she chased them. Jasper started rolling and rushed ahead of the gem, charging them. The gem took the hit and flew back a few feet, crashing into a wall. They quickly got up and continued shooting at Jasper while dodging her attacks. Jasper smiled, enjoying the game of cat and mouse, destroying everything in her path. The gem realizing they can't run anywhere, fully endorsed her and met her head on. Exchanging hits, blocking, and using their extra hands as leverage.
+They aren't as strong as me, but they're still pretty good. Unfortunately, it's obvious I have more experience.+
Jasper thought as she grabbed the gem and threw them. The gem regained their balance and switched out the ends to their extra arms. They now had sharp claw-like ends on them, and were positioned in a way that reminded Jasper of something.
+That's right, that little insect thing that I saw the other day. What was it called again? A proing- growing- no no no… ah-ha, a praying mantis!+
Jasper charged forward screaming “You can't scare me!” And punching the ground as the gem dodges. “I also know where your gem is. The bow is super obvious” The gem did not respond, focused on dodging and getting sharp, decisive attacks in. Jasper continued, “So, what are you doing anyway? It's clear you're not supposed to be here considering you ran!” Jasper started hitting the gem towards a corner as they covered their head and torso with the claws. “Not to mention the weird extensions.” Perfect, they were stuck in the corner now. Jasper put all their power into the next punch, sending the gem to their knee. Jasper grabbed the claws and pulled them apart just to see some kind of laser pointed at her.
“Full charge, ready” the gem said, before pulling the trigger. Jasper felt a searing pain all over as their physical form was ripped apart. Everything then went dark as they poofed into her gem.
