Work Header

behind the scenes

Summary:

Cute chapters to fill in the stuff that our dear Endo missed. Usually the aftermath of important situations surrounding the regular Eden gang, Forger family, Martha, and Henry. Mostly centred around Damian and Loid. To show footage of them behind the chapters. Including slow character development, fluff, and angst.
*EACH CHAPTER CAN BE READ AS A STANDALONE BTW*

Notes:

Hi guysss, it's my first fanfic, so I'd love some criticism. All the characters belong to Tatsuya Endo, the creator of Spy x Family. I'm going to make 2 series: one which is in line with the current plot and another which features the gang throughout the ages. So basically a damian/anya slowburn.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: i wish i was drugged

Chapter Text

Chapter 1: damian’s pov, the night after his first encounter with Anya

It's not like he blasted the world to bits. Damian could not believe he had been dragged into so much drama on orientation day. Father would be disappointed in him. Damian wondered how he ended up in this situation, and the image of the pink-haired commoner popped into his brain.

“What happened, son?” said the nurse.

Her voice brought him back to the present. Damian felt ashamed to reveal what had actually happened. he scowled, and his face burned with resentment. The teacher who accompanied him had explained the embarrassing situation.

One of the students had punched Damian in the face, and he went flying across the hall. And now, there was a bruise forming where her fist had been on his cheek. The nurse was told to aid him quickly so he could accompany the rest of the students and their parents to the fresher-parent class picture. His cheek burned to the point where he could feel the tears filling his eyes.

I really wish they had sedated me. HELL THIS BURNS.

But he abstained from crying cause he would not risk having puffy eyes in front of the entire class. He could not afford to be anything less than perfect. It's what his parents expected from him.

His friends Ewen and Emile were waiting outside the nurse’s office when he walked outside with his bandaged cheek after thanking the nurse.

Emile broke the silence first: “So how are you feeling, boss man? Do you want us to take revenge on the short girl?”

Damian just scoffed and told them to hurry up so that they could join the rest of the group. He didn't see the pink-haired girl, and he was grateful for that. Damian had more pressing thoughts, like whether his dad had come. His parents must have been so worried, waiting for him. Surely they heard of the incident.  It was the only reason why he wasn't thinking about the cute pink-haired girl and how his heart was beating as fast as a horse could run. He reached the hall where the rest of the students and their parents were mingling. Emile and Ewen rushed to their parents, leaving Damian all alone. He allowed himself to hope that his dad had come. Damian searched for a while and was later cornered by Mr. Henderson, who was the housemaster of Cecile Hall.

“Damian, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I'm sorry to inform you that your parents could not make it for the class picture. They were unable to attend due to an important event.”

oh

Nothing new, I see

That's what I get for believing that they care about me.

“I see”.

Silence, and then.

“It's no problem Mr. Henderson, I'm assuming they were informed of the incident that occurred earlier?”

Damian must have seemed disappointed (he was); he realised, 'cause Henderson had frowned, face plastered with pity.

“Well, not directly. Your parents are very hard people to get a hold of. I was only able to connect to your butler, Jeeves, who assured me that your parents would be informed as soon as possible”

WHAT THE HELL.

Right. Of course. cause even physical harm isn't enough to care about one's son.

They’re busy, and I'm sure that when they find out, they are going to be furious.

When he felt convinced that he was at ease with this situation(he really wasn't), he strutted along and took his position while the families around him scrambled around to take their positions for the class picture. He stood to the edge, to the top right, and plastered a face of discomfort.

The day drifted after the class picture. Damian felt envious as he watched the families around him disperse and exit the academy through the gates. Parents clutching the hands of their children. At the same time, the first-years who had opted to live in the dorms were instructed in the rules and regulations of the prestigious Eden Academy as they were guided to the block where the dormitory was located. He had already been informed of them via his brother (actually, it was Jeeves who taught him via his brother's rule book. Damian hadn't seen Demetrius in a while; he had been busy studying for his finals). No matter how hard he tried to push away his pain, his thoughts betrayed him.

Of course, my parents hadn't come to show their support; why would they?

He wasn't the heir; he was the backup. He knew his parents were important figures and that they loved him, but felt lonely during moments like this. He got situated in his new dormitory along with Emile and Ewen. Damian walked to his dorm room while his friends had opted to stick around the hall to watch some television. They offered to follow Damian back to the room and accompany him, but after the long day they had, he wished to be alone for a while.

He often pondered over the intentions of his “friends”, whether they were with him just cause of his status as the scion of the Desmond Group or if they truly cared about him. he supposed he would always have to be wary of such things. He propped himself on his bed, and a new image popped into his mind.

The pink-haired girl- what was her name again? Adia? anna? anya?

Well, whatever it was. The audacity of that peasant girl to punch me in the face. NO ONE. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE.

Who does that commoner think she is?

I can't believe I ever thought she was cute.

Turns out she was just another peasant trying to be my friend cause of my name. ugh. How I wish sometimes I could just renounce it and live a normal life for once.

WAIT. THE HELL?

What was I even thinking? I need to make my dad proud. I need to bring honour to the Desmond name.

I've got to work hard, and I ABSOLUTELY need to stay away from the likes of this girl!!!

She's corrupting my mind and making me lose focus on what's most important.

The scion got off his bed, made his way to the study table, and started reviewing the 1st year school material. He thought maybe I’ll never have to see or talk to her ever again, and he smiled to himself as he imagined being the first student of the year to get a Stella.

When he finished, he still could not sleep cause he could not stop thinking about his parents and this whole situation. It was his first night away from his mansion, and though his parents often left him there alone to attend some or the other important event, he had never felt this lonely in his entire short lifetime. he ended up crying himself to sleep.
