Chapter Text
You went to work today and you felt a little weird all day. Pierrot came in today and again asked for a milkshake and just kinda watches you for a while. When he leaves, he asks you if you'll come to his show tonight. You agree and then comment that you might go see Doctor, since you agreed to visit him often after the first time that you saw him.
When your shift ends, you head to the circus and you're there right as it opens. Ticket taker welcomes you, being a bit nicer since he can see that you seem a lot more tired than usual after a shift. "Apologies, Red Ticket Guest, but our Pierrot's show doesn't start for an hour. Other attractions are open currently otherwise."
You nod and quietly thank him for telling you. You walk near Doctor's tent and wave to him briefly as you see him enter the tent. He looks at you and tilts his head briefly before walking up to you. "Sweetie. How have you been.. You seem to be more tired today."
You nod a little "Yeah. been feeling a bit tired today.. Sorry to bother you but.."
He grabs your arm softly and guides you inside his tent. "Has it just been fatigue so far, dear Patient."
You clear your throat as you sit down. "uh.. no.. Um.." you nod off a bit as he watches. "I've been uh.. sore all day. I just thought I didn't sleep well.."
Doctor grabs your wrist to check your pulse. "I see. Your pulse is weaker than normal at the moment."
You cringe as you almost throw up but swallow it back. "mmh.."
Doctor comes closer, taking note that you seem to be ignoring some of the symptoms of your illness. "Are you nauseous, dear patient?" You nod. "sore throat?"
You pause for a moment. "Uhh.." You hum for a moment and then cough. "Oh.. yeah, I guess." You sniffle and he steps back. "fuck.."
He chuckles and moves to grab something. "Language, dear patient. Bil won't appreciate that type of speak." You groan and slump over in the chair from exhaustion from the walk here and your work today. "Aside from that, you seem to be in the early stages of the flu, Sweetie."
You try to stand up and Doctor gets in front of you. "Not just yet, dear patient. I think I'll keep you for a while. Don't want the other guests contracting this illness."
You clear your throat "can you catch it?"
Doctor seems to shake his head but you can't tell too much in the dim lighting. "Not nearly this easily, dear patient."
"Shouldn' I go h-home-" You cough again and Doctor waves a needle in front of you.
"Not just yet. Were you here to visit all of us, dear patient." He pokes you on your side and you flinch and look over as something else pokes you and you feel a bit lightheaded. "That should soothe you. I will inform Pierrot of your current condition and that you won't be able to make it to his show tonight. Rest well."
You try to protest but your illness that you just figured out you definitely have and whatever -based on the now empty syringe in his hands- Doctor just gave you, you're out cold not too long after he says that. You end up falling into a slightly restless, empty sleep.
