"The family's all back together again!!" Tenna exclaimed joyously. "Now you can all finally go home and watch even more tv together!!!"
Kris facepalmed. Their family? Back together again? Oh please. All that happened was removing toriel from the hamster ball. Had tenna forgotten the entire other half of their family?
"Heck yeah let's go" Susie did an epic front flip.
"Wowie Susie! We ought to get you your own special episode on the parkour channel! Tenna said.
"Thank you for the gameshow, tenna! Besides the part where you held us hostage it was very fun 😊" ralsei said
"Uhh anyways kris wanna go seal the fountain?" Susie asked.
Kris looked at their phone worriedly for a moment before putting it away. "hold on I still have more questions for tenna"
You were surprised to hear that. Usually they're not one to stop and chat with the enemy they just defeated.
"Alright krispy! Ask away!!!!"
"tenna, what's your opinion, on, uhhhhhh..." They paused. "cheese?"
"Cheese? You mean the thing people say when they take pictures?! Hahahahaha" A crappy low quality fake audience laugh track echoed throughout the snowy plain. But nobody actually laughed. Except tenna.
This went on for a while. Kris asking boring questions they seemed to be coming up with on the spot, with ralsei joining the conversation and you and susie being confused.
Something strange you noticed was that Kris seemed to be panicking more by the second.
"Dude, what time is it?!" They asked while looking at their phone again. "Ralsei, do phone clocks not work right in the dark world or something?"
"Umm, nope! I don't see why they wouldn't work!"
Susie looked at her watch. "It's 3:27 in the morning bro we gotta seal the fountain"
The same time Kris saw on their phone. They didn't want to hear that. "ALMOST HALF AN HOUR LATE?!??!?1?!12?!?"
"Bro you're the one whose been wasting time asking stupid questions 😭" Susie said. Including the emoji.
Then, suddenly, a large sword slashed at tenna.
It missed by a couple feet though.
"Woah! What the sigma?" Tenna looked behind him, and saw a large dark spooky creature with a big evil sword floating there.
The knight.
They tried once again to stab tenna, but still missed.
You and Kris looked at them in confusion. Their movement was really weird. Terribly off balance and not even able to stay completely upright.
"What the hell is that thing??" Susie asked.
Ralsei was terrified. "T-that's the r-"
The knight tried launching some flying swords at ralsei and susie. All of them missed.
Everyone else was scared. Tenna fled the scene. But you on the other hand, were worried about them. You knew something was wrong. This wasn't how they usually act.
"Dude, what's wrong..- with you!" You said, trying to hide your concern.
They looked up at you as soon as they heard your voice. Then they started flying towards you.
"Oh no you don't!!" Susie stood between you and the knight in an effort to protect you. They were able to knock her down, but accidentally had their sword backwards, so it didn't do that much damage.
Seeing your inaction, Ralsei shoved you out of the way as they kept approaching you after knocking down Susie for a whole 3 seconds (that's the amount of time chapter 6 is coming out in!)
"WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?!" Kris yelled.
"I have no idea!" You lied. "I know I've certainly never seen this creature in my entire- AHH!!"
You were interrupted by the knight haphazardly throwing their arms around you and pulling you close.
Kris dropped their sword in shock. "I-is this some kind of joke???"
"HEY!" Susie ran back over. "LET THEM GO!" She tried to pull them away from you, but they didn't budge.
You covered your face with one hand, desperately trying to hide the fact that you were blushing like crazy right now. "Dude, I swear I don't know what's going on!"
You eventually managed to weasel your way out of their hold, but you really didn't want to. You just knew you would've looked extra suspicious if you didn't resist.
You flopped onto the snow, and the knight tilted their head, staring at you with sadness in their eyes.
"Stop looking at me like that..!" You mumbled to them. Seeing the look in their eyes only upset you further. You wished they could hold you forever. But alas, apparently your friends would do this thing called "not liking you anymore" if they found out you were knowingly dating the very being that's trying to end the world.
Ralsei helped you get up, grabbed your wrist, and started running. "Something's wrong with them! We have to get out of here!" He said.
The knight followed close behind, their one drunk braincell thinking that Ralsei was kidnapping you. How ironic.
Susie then followed, still trying to beat them up. Kris followed as well, still trying to figure out what was even happening anymore.
When you noticed something in the snow, you stopped in your tracks.
Ralsei tugged on your arm. "Y/n, come on! We have to run!!"
"Oh. my god." You knelt down and picked up the object from the ground.
An empty wine bottle.
"They're drunk."
Ralsei looked terrified. Kris ragdolled onto the ground and screamed in pure confusion. Susie grinned deviously.
"Oh so it should be REALLY easy to beat this thing up if they're drunk!!" She raised her axe at the knight, but you quickly jumped between the two of them.
"Hey hey hey!! W-we still don't know what they're capable of yet! Even if they're drunk they still seem to be a powerful enemy!"
Susie raised an eyebrow and looked at you suspiciously. "Bro why you so quick to defend them 🤨"
"Haha, just being strategic that's all!" You said, your lie instantly falling apart when the knight suddenly scooped you up into their arms a second time.
You tried to pretend you didn't like it. You really did. But everyone could see the genuine happiness in your expression.
"Hey! Put me down, or I'll, uhh.. stab you!" You said joyously.
Susie and ralsei looked at you extremely concerned. Kris was still face down in the snow. You couldn't tell if they had passed out from the chaos or if they were just eating the snow. Actually it's probably both.
"Y/n.. what's going on here?" Ralsei asked.
"Nothing, really! I've never seen the knight at all before this!" You said.
Ralsei looked at you like this
Your words shocked Kris enough that they woke up and looked at you with the exact same expression as ralsei.
"Uhh... What? Did I say something wrong?"
Susie looked at you like this
"Dude... THAT'S the knight?!"
"If you've never seen them before..." Ralsei said. "...then how do you know that's the knight?"
Oh crap.
He's right. No one had actually said the creature was the knight. The only way you could've known was if you had already known them personally.
Or is it?? Surely you can weasel your way out of this one!
"Oh, um! What a wonderful question! You I know who they are because I saw a book that described them!"
"Hmm.. ok sounds convincing enou-" Ralsei almost believed you.
But then the knight nuzzled your head affectionately. You giggled. "Hehehe stop it they're already onto us!"
The entire fun gang looked at you like this
You were officially Cooked™©®.
"... I can explain-" you STILL wouldn't give up, even as they watched the knight hug you closer and nuzzle you even more.
"No you can't bro 💀" Susie said and swung her axe, this time directly at you.
Thankfully the knight pulled you away quick enough that you didn't get hit. After that, they flew away. The fun gang tried to chase them, but even though they were drunk they were still ultra fast, and they successfully fled the scene with you in their arms.
Suddenly, it was very peaceful. The wind rushing through your hair as your beloved evil scary being of darkness carried you across the seemingly endless tundra.
But of course that couldn't last very long. Flying properly is rather difficult while drunk, so they soon fumbled and promptly tumbled through the snow.
Yet they still didn't let you go. You smiled, appreciating that, despite having a face full of snow now.
The two of you just laid there on your sides, gazing into the distance at the fountain.
You yawned, adjusting your position a little. The show was soft and actually quite comfy to lay on.
"Well. Guess my friends hate me now, huh?"
"..."
"I'll just have to officially join the evil ass fountain openers now. I have nowhere else to go."
In response, the knight said something about Kris, but between their already unusual voice and their current drunkenness, you couldn't really understand them.
"Alright, sorry but we're gonna have to wait till tomorrow to talk about anything. I can't tell what you're saying."
"..."
You stayed silent for a moment, just admiring the scenery.
"Thank you. It's really pretty here."
"..."
"A-and, uh, it's nice to cuddle with you like this. I like it a lot."
You closed your eyes, relaxed. Then, the two of you shortly fell asleep together.
