Backstory(Some parts will be omitted to be revealed later on in the story):
Lilah was lucky enough to not know her parents very well. Her mother died in labour, leaving her father in a depressed state. Not being able to hold down a job, his rent being increased beyond what he could afford, and generally failing and struggling to take care of Lilah, Steven was driven to kill himself. One day, he took the unsuspecting 6 year old Lilah to the top of their apartment building and jumped off with her in his arms. Thankfully, Lilah survived the fall, but it wasn’t without injuries. At the time, Lilah experienced several fractures of her internal organs and skull and bruising in her lungs. When the police found the body, they left her with her single aunt, Sandra, who was forced to pay for Lilah’s medical bills. Even after all the surgery and treatments, Lilah suffered from pulmonary fibrosis and PTSD after the incident, making breathing feel like an effort. In the meantime, Sandra gave Lilah her own room, and that was pretty much it. Whenever she needed any food, Lilah would have to ask her aunt. And, even then, she would be tossed money that wasn’t enough, seeing as her aunt spent most of it on weed and drugs, leaving her to starve. If she asked for more, she would get beaten. This taught Lilah to not ask for anything and take what she was given. She developed a talent for stealing so that she wouldn’t go hungry, while nurturing her artistic talent in writing in her alone time.
After her aunt’s untimely death, she was pretty shaken up, but after a few months, she slowly started becoming herself again. From 13-16, she started living on her own. She developed the talent of disguise, mastering make-up art and mimicry. With Sandra’s(low) income, Lilah decided that the only way she could earn money was by putting her talents to good use. She learnt how to make drugs and was soon scouted out by a gang group, becoming their supplier. They were kids, and often fought within each other, but she knew that they were just trying to survive, like her. She eventually became a part of their twisted family. But, when they kidnapped and started torturing a child within their base, Lilah poisoned and killed them all, freeing the child. She later found out that that group had been trafficking kids and holding them hostage without her knowing. She staged it as a group that self-imploded, and stole what she could. The gang’s extinction caught the attention of Master Lin, who found out from an informant that it was Lilah who did it. After offering her a place at the King’s Dominion, she happily accepted, and has since then been trained to assassinate.
Personality
Lilah is generally a ray of sunshine. She is extremely empathetic and connects with a lot of people emotionally. She only kills when necessary, or she feels that the person deserved it. It’s hard not to like her, yet some people take her kindness and gentle nature as weakness and try to exploit or abuse her. However, due to her training, she often comes out unscathed. She does see the good in people, but once she, or anyone she loves is done wrong, they almost never get that trust back. When she’s upset or sad(or when she wants something), she doesn’t speak up about it and tries to see how she can get it herself, or bottles it up. She is very used to people relying on her, often sacrificing her own wants and happiness over that of those she cares about. She can be hot-tempered, and always believes in revenge. She is very smart, and was forced to be mature from a young age. She’s creative but not really strong and doesn’t have good endurance because of her condition. She doesn’t trust easily at all, but when she does, she does so strongly. She is very relaxed around people she’s close to and, while she doesn’t care what most people think, the opinions of those she is closest to is very important because she feels that she must be her best for the people she cares about. She can be a little playfully snarky at times to match with her friends, but people know she doesn’t mean her insults. She is also deadly afraid of heights from her childhood, and she keeps her illness a secret to avoid her friends treating her differently.
