Work Text:

Cody can finally get off this fucking island. After a month he finally feels free he finally feels a feeling, freedom, no more deaths, especially not of his friends. Him and Heather can finally escape of of this damn island.

"That's everyone right?" Chris said counting the 'campers' (if you could even call them that anymore)

"I think we're missing two." His right hand man (chef, I think) said, making Chris sigh.

Finally, one of the two, Leshawna finally came complaining about how Chris left them there for a month, saying something about a girl with her head in the freezer.

"Wait Leshawna who was it?" Cody asked. He wanted to know. He needed to know if his big sister, Heather was safe. She HAD to be, Cody can't loose another person, not this far to escaping. That CAN'T happen.

"That mean girl, Heather!" Leshawna told Cody before yelling at Chris for neglecting them again.

Cody couldn't believe it, Heather was dead?  She couldn't be! She wasn't dead, she wasn't like the rest of his friends, right? Cody didn't want to loose another person that was important to him. For... he didn't even know, he lost so many that he can't remember, but his big sister was different! She was strong! She would survive! With the rest of them... right?

"I need to check!" Cody screamed while he ran to the freezer. He didn't realize that Gwen was behind him. Following him, trying to get him back to the boat. It couldn't be true. Leshawna must've been lying. She HAD to be. Cody finally opened the freezer, and found Heather in the freezer, decapitated, dead. "Heather... no..." Cody began to cry. He couldn't believe it. His big sister was dead. The same big sister that he looked up to, the same big sister that was so close to surviving.

"She's actually gone..." Cody sobbed out barely. This was like all the other times his friends had died, it was like that when Justin died, Noah died, Trent died, DJ died and Harold died. He was overridden with guilt. He blamed himself for having that STUPID agrument with her. Maybe if he convinced her to stay with him she wouldn't be...

"CODY!" Gwen screamed in his ear.

"Gwen?" Cody asked looking at her, tears still in his eyes.

"The boat, come on! We need to go!" Gwen told him.

"Sorry, just... sad." Cody replied, getting up.

"You're sad over that girl?" Gwen bluntly said to him. She didn't know the real Heather. The one Cody knew, the sweet one that was obsessed with glitter glue.

"You just don't get it. You... *sigh* I'm going to the boat." Cody told her. He walked off to the boat.

When Cody got to the boat he didn't say a thing. He practically brought everything important to him (or rather everything important to his dead friends). Noah's favourite books, Heather's favourite glitter glue pen, Justin's mirror, he let Leshawna keep Harold's nun chucks and it was mainly only because she knew him better. Unfortunately DJs body hasn't been found so... no. Cody can't get your hopes up. So Cody just kept a photo of his deceased friend. At least the groups pretty sure he's deceased, I mean what if he's still- no DJ is dead Cody. Stop giving yourself false hope, again

──────────────────────────────

On the boat, Cody hadn't said ANYTHING. Not even an overly positive comment like he normally does.

"Cody you haven't said anything since you got on the boat." Gwen said, worried for her friend.

"Yeah we're really worried about you!" Katie said.

"Cody if your feeling down about Heather you can tell us!" Izzy said, trying to stay as still as possible to calm him.

"We just don't know why you're so sad about Heather. I mean she treated us all like shit, I think you were the only exception buddy." Duncan commented, saying Heathers name in an envious way.

"It doesn't matter, she's dead now." Cody bluntly replied. He didn't want to think about her right now.

"We just want to know." Leshawna said.

"Fine. If you really must know so much." Cody said before taking a deep breath. "She was my big sister. Well step sister." Cody told them all. They all felt bad for him, how could they not? He just lost a sister. Even if they weren't blood related, it must've hurt.

"Cody we're so sorry.." Gwen said.

"I know." Cody replied, he didn't want to talk about it right now, he was just thinking about how she would've been ALIVE if he'd just tried a little bit more. If he'd-

"Hey campers" It was Chris, he still had the nerve to call them that. "Me and my assistants are going at night to...record this, for investigation purposes... be right back!" Chris said in his overly positive tone.

───────────────────────────────

A few nights later, Chris's assistants came back, going on the boat, trying to start the boat.

"Where's the narcissistic host?" Duncan asked.

Chris came running, the angered spirits of the island were chasing him, he was being used as bait. Cody could recognize some of the hands, like Noah's, Heather's, and DJ's,  as the boat started, Chris screamed, like that brat had any right to scream the way all the victims scram. He was dead, and the "survivors" were safe. I mean even after everything, it was the nicest thing he did for them, be bait.

"Was that Heather's hand?" Cody asked, still not over her death.

"Just her spirits, I think." Katie corrected.

"You get him, girl!" Izzy cheered. She's probably the only one that can cheer for times like these.

"Okay you're way to cheerful about this." Gwen said, Leshawna nodded in agreement.

"Who cares? We're finally off of that island!" Duncan cheered.

"Finally!" Eva scoffed

"But they're not.." Cody said. The mood suddenly shifted. "Sorry."

"It's okay, you're just sad after them." Leshawna reassured him, the survivors knew she was talking about Cody's friends but nobody commented on it. They were glad to be alive.

Who wouldn't be?
