Chapter Text
Truthless, or, rather to say, Vail, was sitting in his dressing room after on of his concerts. He had headphones on, and he was sitting on the floor. He had phone in one hand, and a soda can in other. Still dressed in his stage clothes, still was smelling sweat and stage smoke and still having damp hair, was listening to music. But he couldn't even focus on the song. His mind was far, far away from the real world. He had closed his eyes, and the crimson eyes immediately appeared. He was thinking about her again.
"God, when this will fucking stop? I'm tired of that. I miss her, yet I haven't seen her in 4 years... my Lily.. my one and ONLY mine" - he murmured to himself, slowly falling asleep.
He was dreaming about the time when they were in her house. Again. 5 years old. They have created a new game: "Visitor Merlin". When she greeted him with her sentence "Hello traveller! I'm Merlin, protector of this house! Tell me the password and you will come in" for the first time... when he answered with "Blue bird escapes the cage" for first time too.. Nostalgia was killing him from the inside out.
7 years old: them having a "marriage" and "wedding", both full of their best friends. She promising him to "share with her snacks forever". He promising her to "always protecting her from the monsters". The paper rings. Her veil.. a blue one, but who cares? They got married.
And every other time they met each other, every single moment... it was feeling like it was centuries ago.
12 years old. Their families got into a serious argument over politics. And because of that, they didn't saw each other for 4 years.
And now, when he was sleeping, the realisation hit him with full force:
Yeah. That's it. He never really moved on from her. He couldn't.
Obviously, he was enjoying all "privileges" of being famous: having a lot of money, meeting his idols, dating literally every girl he wanted, yet everything he did was... empty. He couldn't understand it at first, but when he was thinking about this more and more time, he finally got it: he still loved her like he couldn't love anyone else. Every girl he was with was just a thin barrier of his true emotions.
"When she will realise she is literally my everything? Whe she will actually see I don't want to be only friends? It hurts. A lot. Can you set me free from this? ...Obviously not. Because you are not here. I miss you, Lily."
~some time later (about 2 weeks), 2:40 am~
Vail couldn't sleep. Again. He was doomscrolling though his phone, paying attention to nothing particular, until, he saw a video of a girl with similar eyes. Oh, he knew whose these eyes was... it was Lily.
She wasn't a little girl he remembered anymore: she grew up like him. She had her own dressing style, dark, edgy and very captivating. He loved it. Suddenly, he felt a strong urge to write a comment under her post, something like "Hey, do you still remember me?" But he didn't. He knew damn well it would be a sensation for his fans, and they couldn't shut up for next 2 months. No, he can't risk her peace for his satisfaction. With a sigh, he put his phone away, rolled on his back and was looking blankly at ceiling.
"Fuck. She looks even more gorgeous when she was looking like at 12. Wait- why I'm still thinking of her? I should have move on already. I guess I can't and I will let her have power over me every time I think of her"
With that, he falled asleep, dreaming about the girl with white hair and these crimson eyes.
~in the morning, 7:23 am~
Vail got woke definitely too rough for his liking. His parents entered the room, closing the door. Their expressions were normal, but it was obvious they had something important to say.
"Vail, honey, wake up" his mother said, shaking him a little.
"Mom, leave me alone" Vail groaned, covering his face with a pillow "dammit, it's Saturday... let me sleep"
"It's something important, son" his father finally spoke, leaning on the desk
"Ugh. Fine. What is this?" Vail said, clearly being passed about very early waking up
"Well, Vail... listen carefully now. Alright, so, do you Remember Lily? I bet you do. So, as you might remember it, 4 years ago, her parents and we got into a serious argument, which lead to not meeting each other for four years. I'm aware it hurt not only you, but also Lily. Yesterday, her mother called me, offering we could go on holiday to her house, like we were doing it before. Also, we finally made up. So, Vail? What do you think?
Vail found himself by catching his breath in his throat. Oh, he didn't know what to say. Did his mother just told he... is able to see Lily again? Vail couldn't believe his luck. Meeting his love of the life, but also his childhood best friend... it was more than he could even ask for.
Finally, he found his voice, trying to sounds as normal as possible.
"You are not kidding? Really? I... this was my biggest dream for these 4 years.. that's more when I could ask for." He answered, his voice trembling a little
~one week later~
Finally. Today was the day he will meet Lily. Outside, he was looking as arrogant as ever, but inside... he was almost jumping from exiting, he's heath beating was unsteady. When he get out from car, he looked at the house he spent so much holidays in.
Slowly, he knocked to the door, waiting for the Merlin to arrive.
