Chapter Text
A blonde haired child tilted his head toward the sky.
He dared not to move, for a child of his same stature lay upon him, sleeping.
He placed one hand atop the black haired child’s head, and the other tightly grasping his silver necklace, that with the angle of sun, had become a blinding, brilliant flash of light if turned a certain direction.
He kept still for a long while after.
Until, a gust of wind disturbed the serene atmosphere, bringing with it a new storm.
The child asked the wind, why, why must it disturb the rest of the peaceful, uprooting the calm that had been planned upon, and nearly fully acted on?
But, the wind does not respond.
For the wind is change itself, and one must welcome change if they are to truly live life.
Thus, the child kept clinging on to his other half, and to its necklace which brought him comfort so, as he watched the tides of time slowly warp into an unrecognizable pattern that no one could decipher.
Though, there was one thing the child knew yet. That the child was not who he said he was, that the child was indeed supposed to be the warm and gentle sun; but alas! What can one do when fate turns its back on them?
Now the child is but a figment of imagination, existing only in the memories of his other half. Yet now a new sun has come into being. One that will stay forevermore, always beside the earth and its inhabitants, as it knows that is its duty.
Not to guard its other half, not to show bias, and not to favor one over all. Yes, it must be unchanging in its ways, and only then can it be considered a true guardian. Only then will the end justify the means.
