"I'm a trans woman," Wade blurts. She didn't really mean to. But she's on the couch with Nate, three drinks in and watching some shitty D-list horror flick and comfortable. She wishes her brain was faster than her mouth, but unfortunately that's no competition.
Nate simply turns his head to her and blinks. That's it. Oh, fuck. He hates her now. He's disgusted. He is going to leave her and she should have known better, should have had more self control and kept her stupid mouth shut because nothing good ever comes out of being vulrenable.
"Okay," is all Nate says. That's… it? Okay? He doesn't have some dickish or even heartfelt comment to make to her?
"What?" Wade laughs, lost and confused. There's surely no way that's his only reaction! Wade expected this to go grandly, though preferably when she had planned it and was ready to be rejected by her… whatever Nate is to her. But as always, Nate foils all of her plans.
"Okay," he repeats, "I'm glad you're comfortable enough to share this information with me." Awww! So he is accepting and not throwing Wade out of Providence! How romantic!
"Oh Nate, you know just what to say to a girl!"
