There were many mysteries of the ocean that the Octonauts heard about. But one caught their attention.
1.
“Captain, I think that was the last patient of the day.” Peso sighed happily, it had been a long day. “Good work Peso.” Barnacles congratulated.
The penguin smiled “I’m going to take the Gup-E back to the Octopod.” He finished putting his medical bag away, the orange cat came up from behind him “Alright matey! We’ll see you after we are done with our work here.” Kwazii replied.
Peso giggled a bit and got into the Gup. It roared to life with a rumble before Peso drove off. “Alright Kwazii, let’s help this clownfish, Tammy, to get home.” Captain ordered and the pirate nodded.
“So, Tammy, where is your home?” Kwazii asked curiously as the fish looked up. “It’s on the other side of the lake!” She said “It’s going to take forever!” Tammy cried
“Oh matey, it won’t take that long!” He scooped up the small fish “Here, how about I tell you a story, a legend!” Kwazii exclaimed excitedly, Tammy didn’t look all that amused.
Barnacles led the way and Kwazii started his story, “So it all starts on a dark gloomy night…”
They were over half way there by the time Kwazii wrapped up his story “The end!” He said happily “So what did ya think?” The cat asked curiously.
Tammy shrugged “Not the best story I’ve heard. I’ll tell you a real story!” She answered “About The Legendary Medic!” Kwazii groaned.
“A medic? Better than my story about a color changing master? Who hides in plain sight?” He asked with genuine confusion but the fish didn’t waver “Yeah, just trust me. This is a great story! Passed down from my grandmother!” Tammy assured.
“It all started when my grandmother was swimming away from a huge shark! It was gaining on her so decided to dive behind a rock.”Tammy paused for dramatic effect.
“But she accidentally clipped her fin! It was terrible! A broken fin while running from a shark. It’s a good thing that the shark swam right past her.”
“Her broken fin was so painful she could barely move! That’s when she felt a fabric being wrapped around her. It was so fast and skillful that it was done in a few seconds.”
“Her fin was feeling better! She could move it again. It barely hurt, it was amazing. When she went to thank the kind soul who fixed her right up, they were gone. Like they were never there!”
“She didn’t even get a look at them!” Tammy finished, Kwazii actually looked a bit shocked “Well matey, that was a great story! I think that is on par with mine for sure!” He congratulated
“I think that was very interesting.” The polar bear said with genuine enthusiasm “Guys, looks like we’re here!” Captain Barnacles said, Tammy and Kwazii cheered as the fishes family came into view.

Dashi and Tweak were on a mission. An island mission to be specific. They we’re currently trying to get Dashi’s camera back from the thieving seagull.
“Hey! Give that back please!” The dachshund yelled while waving her arms, the seagull stopped and turned around “No way! You guys took the sticks that I was planning to use for my nest!” She cried dramatically.
“Wait, we didn’t know you were going to use them!” Tweaks voice cut in “We took them because we’re going to make a campfire.” She explained.
The seagull didn’t look happy “That doesn’t change the fact you took them!” She countered but the green rabbit wasn’t having it, “How were we supposed to know they were yours?”
“Okay okay, enough. How about, if we get you more sticks then you give me back my camera.” Dashi reasoned, the bird thought about it for a minute before nodding. “Sure thing.”
The duo set out on their adventure, walking around the small beach. They grabbed medium sized pieces of sticks and other items that would seem good for a nest.
They collected small sticks and even some rocks. “Well, here they are.” Tweak presented, the seagull looked very happy, “This is amazing! What did you say you guys were called again?” The seagull asked curiously while handing back the camera.
“Oh! We are the Octonauts!” Dashi answered “We help any creature hurt or sick!” She said, the seagull looked a little surprised, “Hey, that kind of sounds like something the Legendary Medic would say!” The bird said, confusing the other 2 animals.
“You know, I think in the legend, he says something like ‘I help any creature hurt or sick’” The seagull struggled to remember the exact words, the dachshund and rabbit shared a look “What?” They said at the same time.
The seagull noted that the sun was slowly setting “Normally I would be more than happy to explain but I’ve got to finish my nest! I’m laying my eggs soon!” The seagull said happily and started to grab the sticks.
“Oh, alright. Thank you for my camera back!” Dashi said, Tweak waved “Goodbye!” She said.

Shellington and inkling had just picked up inklings cousin, Squirt! They hadn’t seen him since they went to the golden coral for Christmas 2 years ago.
“Wow! That was a good story, where did you hear it?” Squirt asked his cousin, inkling laughed, they were telling stories “That one I heard from Kwazii.” He explained.
“Kwazii has amazing stories” The otter, Shellington, cut in “It’s quite fun to see him spin a story about sea monsters.” He said while steering the Gup-A.
“Oh, Oh! I have one!” Squirt exclaimed happily, “Last Christmas, when we were gathering around the golden coral, A small sea snail told us a story!”
“They said it was a mythic medic…or something like that.” Squirt thought carefully, Inkling glanced over, “Mythic medic? I’ve never heard of that one before. Shellington?”
Shellington also looked a tad confused but interested “I don’t think I’ve heard that one either.” The elder octopus nodded “Squirt, tell us more?” He asked
The younger octopus looked more than happy “Sure thing! The snail, Beth, told us about the time she was sick! It was terrible, but she met a nice…” Squirt paused, and sighed.
“She told us more about the person she met but I can’t remember what she said!” He said sadly, Inkling put a tentacle in a form of comfort “It’s fine, continue your story. This is very interesting!”
Shellington nodded in agreement and smiled, Squirt looked up in thought “Alright! Well she met the mysterious medic, he asked her what was wrong. Beth told him that she was ill, and then, he gave her a check up and medication!”
“The next day, no, the next hour! she was good as new! Beth had never heard of someone recovering that fast, even with medicine.” He finished happily and Inkling clapped
“Wow! I would love to know who the medic is.” Inkling said with wonder, Shellington spoke up “That was a great story, maybe Kwazii would know about it.” He said as the Octo-hatch opened.

“Tunip? Hello?” Shellington waved a hand in front of the half animal, half vegetable’s face. Tunip snapped to attention “Chipa chipa?” It chirped, seemingly asked what the other wanted.
“Well Tunip, I’ve heard this story and I thought you would be interested in it. I heard it from squirt.” Shellington said, waiting for an answer.
Tunip nodded, “Chipa chipa!” It said before sitting down, getting ready for the story. “Ah! I knew you would want to hear it! This is how it goes. A small snail gets real sick.” He paused for dramatic effect.
“The illness was terrible! That was until the snail met a kind soul. A legendary medic!” Tunip interrupted “Chipa?”
“What? Peso? I don’t think it was him. Not that he isn’t a great medic but-, I’m getting off track here.” Shellington started to ramble but stopped.
“Anyway, the snail met a medic, the medic was more than happy to help. He gave a check up and instantly figured out what was wrong.” He snapped with his hands.
“The medic prepared a magic medicine and gave it to the sea snail. The snail made a speedy recovery, a hour to be exact!” Shellington marveled, he had never heard a recovery that fast and effective before!
“Chipa chipa!” Tunip said with wonder, the otter thought before responding, “Hm, I suppose your right. It is a great legend.” He said and walked off.
5.
Everyone was currently taking a break, the crew of Octonauts were in the game room. A movie was playing in the background.
“Hey Kwazii?” Inkling asked, the orange cat glanced over lazily “What’s sup matey?” He questioned.
“I wanted to ask you if you’ve heard about the ‘Mysterious Medic’?” Everyone looked over with recognition, except Peso, Kwazii replied with, “I have heard of a story like that, although, it was called ‘The Legendary Medic’ Me and captain heard about it from a small fish.”
“Me and Dashi also heard about it from a seagull!” Tweak piped up with a story of her own, Shellington decided to tell his part as well, “Me and Inkling heard about it from Squirt. Then I told Tunip.”
“Peso, you’re a medic! Maybe you know more about the legend?” Dashi asked curiously and all eyes turned to the penguin. “A legendary medic? Nope, never heard of it.” Peso answered.
“In fact this is the first I’m hearing about it.” Peso looked a little confused and he felt kind of sad that he wasn’t considered a legendary medic.. right?

The Octo-hatch opened when the Gup-C arrived. Captain barnacles hadn’t noticed the small sea snake that latched itself onto the gup.
The glass slid open and the polar bear jumped out “Man, that was a rough day.” Barnacles said.
“Agreed.” Tweak said as she shut the Octo-hatch. The green rabbit took a bite out of her carrot and started to walk away.
“Help! Help me!” A deep voice cried out, both tweak and the captain froze. “Excuse me? Is someone there?” Barnacles asked.
“Over here! On your moving thingy!” The voice said, it slithered onto the other side of the gup, coming into view.
“A sea snake? What are you doing here?” Tweak asked curiously, the snake’s tongue slipped out of its mouth “Something is wrong with my tongue! I went to the best doctors and they couldn’t help me!” She explained.
“Tweak, sound the Octo-alert!”
Whoop, whoop!
“Octonauts, to the launch bay!”
Soon every single person of the crew was lined up “Yes captain?” Shellington asked with confusion, “This sea snake snuck onto our gup and needs our help!” The polar bear explained.
“Peso, check out our patient. Then I want everyone else working to get our snake friend back home.” The captain finished
The penguin waddled over, “Hello, my name is Peso. What’s yours?” He asked as he got to eye level with the snake.
“My name is Dawn.” The snake said, “My tongue, something is wrong! It makes it hard for me to eat.” She said a little unclearly.
“Hmm, say ‘ahh’” Peso requested and Dawn complied “Ahh” He put a small wooden stick in her mouth to help him see better. The penguin leaned down and took a look.
He removed the stick “It seems really swollen, has anything stung you?” Peso questioned, the snake looked a little confused “Uh yeah actually, a jellyfish! It got me right in my mouth.” Dawn struggled to say.
Peso nodded, “That must be the cause, here, open your mouth. I have some ointment that should help.” He informed and the snake happily followed the order.

“Thank you Octonauts! The rumors are true!” Dawn said, clear as day, Kwazii spoke up first, “Your welcome matey, but what do you mean rumors?” He inquired curiously.
“Well, the myth of the Legendary Medic! I went to a few doctors and they couldn’t help me! So I decided to take a chance on the legend!” Dawn explained happily, leaving the Octonauts stunned.
“PESO IS THE LEGENDARY MEDIC?” They all said, excluding Peso, at the same time. Tunip jumped for joy (totally not because he told Shellington and was right)
“I’m shocked you didn’t know that. I mean, this story has been all over the ocean! Everyone has been talking about it!” Dawn said giggled at all of their faces.
“Oh! Oh I’m flattered? I’m sorry I mean, I’m shocked?” Peso tripped over his words, feeling nervous.
“Peso got a legend story before me?!” Kwazii said sadly, although he was happy for his friend. “That’s amazing Peso!” Captain Barnacles cut in.
“Yeah, congratulations Peso!” Dashi and tweak gushed a bit.
“Wow, I suppose Tunip was right. It goes to show how good of a medic you are Peso!” Shellington congratulated
“A legendary medic, I’ll have to add that to my book about myths! Although I suppose it’s not all a myth.” Professor Inkling thought.
“Ah, t-thank you guys..?!” The penguin said a little uncertainly, being known across the ocean? That’s a lot.
“No, thank you! You’ve healed me!” Dawn interrupted suddenly.
Peso giggled and Kwazii started clapping. The penguin blushed when more of the crew joined in. Soon all of the team was clapping!
