Chapter 1: bring me to life

Chapter Text

glorious love was what had overcome beomgyu's life. it was also his first mistake; falling in love at all.

after spending years locking his heart away, harbouring resentment towards those with five hearts, promising himself never to be vulnerable with another again, he fell for a boy with five hearts.

beautiful, mysterious taehyun. it was weirdly ironic; the bet he made had turned against him. an avid gambler of his heart, he lost himself once and for all to the pretty boy with red hair.

taehyun wasn't too far off either, though. he'd once kept to himself, but the boy who came crashing into his life was too lively to let go of. made him feel too alive to not want a single second more of his company, his attention, his love.

his isolated world had come to a deafening pause when he was made aware of the love in the eyes of the very boy he seeked out like oxygen. his freshly love-filled world came to a disastrous end when he found out the very boy's initial motives.

"why? why did i have to hear it from hueningkai and not you?" he had spat out back then. even as he let out the harsh words, he knew he wouldn't hold a grudge for long. soon enough, he'd walk to beomgyu's dorm, sit down with him and talk. force him to explain every fear, every speck of hate, every thought of hurting him if he had to.

grief didn't encapsulate what taehyun felt overtake him when he walked into beomgyu's room to see him motionless, expressionless, just staring at the wall. hopelessness didn't fully express his desperation to bring the liveliness back to his beomgyu, to return the lovely light back to the eyes of the boy he still loved.

after all, he'd said he adored beomgyu. he never stopped.
