Work Text:
Ragna had known since she was a scrap of a girl that she couldn’t tell anyone about the power she held within her. They would kill her. Or worse. She could never seem to be a threat to het brother. That had been drilled into her all her life.
She did not even tell Asha. It wasn’t that she didn’t trust Asha. She did. That companionship meant everything to her, but she couldn’t ask Asha to keep such a dangerous secret. If anyone found out about Ragna and Asha was implicated, that would be the end of both of them. The idea of Asha’s death was enough to make her refrain from saying anything, but what Asha represented was important as well. If she were to inherit as a woman, she would have to be all but perfect. Ragna would never want to jeopardise that. It was better that she kept her mouth shut and her head down, as she always had.
