Work Text:

To: Itadori Yuuji

Hey Itadori. I bet you were never expecting this, eh? I'm sorry, but I couldn't help myself. I felt like it would be wrong of me to not leave something behind for you, whenever you would come back to fix the wrongs in the future.

As I sit here and write this, I feel my body growing weaker by the days. It's an odd feeling, really. I thought that my way out would be one with a bang or some sort of fiery explosion that shows how absolutely badass I was, but never did it cross my mind that I would grow old and wise, if you can call it that. I wouldn't even consider myself to be much of a philosopher, but since my time is slowly ticking away, maybe I could pass on some words to you that you could find value in or at least remind you of yourself.

Ever since you left us that day, I couldn't help but to notice the stars at night. Truthfully, I was never much of a stargazer. If anything, the only reason why I'd find myself looking up is to process my discomforts, and usually, they didn't tend to be very calm and peaceful nights. However, as the past few years have come up, I found myself going somewhere quiet and calm and laying back as the night sky seemed to twinkle. It never occurred to me how many stars were up there, and how many were only glimpses into what used to burn bright long ago. Maybe that's why I thought of you so much. You were just like one of those stars. You burned so bright and lit up everyone's world, it was almost impossible to think you were gone just like that. But that light also doesn't burn out for many, many centuries, and the stars I see tonight will be almost the same ten thousand years later. I'd like to think that, somewhere in time, you're staring at those same stars, thinking about everyone we knew to us dearly. Just know that were staring back, Itadori. We've always been.

I've also been thinking of what there is to come once I'm gone too.

I was never much of a believer in the afterlife. I know, shocker, especially coming from me, a seasoned Jujutsu Sorcerer with my grandmother as a former one. I guess it never occurred to me what could happen after I died however way I did, but when that day was approaching, I figured that maybe we could meet again as new people and just as friends who could live normal lives, but when has anyone's life ever been really normal? Maybe I can settle with knowing you as some sort of cursed spirit inhabiting a kid who was like you when we first met.

As for your wishes, I've been able to settle something with the Okkotsu clan and write the stories of everyone we knew into documents that would last thousands of years due to the cursed energy that's embedded into the material. Ui Ui's grandkids had also helped in memorializing everyone's stories, thanks to Ui Ui teaching them. I think you'll really like to hear some of the details, but I can't say for certain that they won't be mixed up as time goes on. We should know how people like to add their own twists.

It's been an honor to know you as a friend and comrade, Itadori. And with that, here's some words of encouragement. Knowing you, I think you'll need them.

Don't dwell on the past or what you used to know, Yuuji. I know you miss it, but missing it won't bring it back and cause you to wake up to it. As painful as it is, it's gone.

Don't let that hurt you.

It's why you need to make sure that the next generations, whenever they may be, can live those carefree and peaceful lives as people rather than weapons. Maybe something truly awful does occur in the next few centuries, and you wake up to a world that's slowly burning to the ground. It may seem almost impossible to solve it.

Make sure you don't give up, you blockhead.

Just do what you do best:

Save people.

And if we do meet again, I'd love to listen to the stories of the lives we used to live in together.

See you then, Itadori.

To the vessel of Itadori Yuuji,

It's a pleasure to meet you. However, don't take my immediate kindness as me being a docile person. What you currently house inside of you is a Calamity Grade sorcerer capable of destruction and abilities beyond what anyone in your time could match up against, and he is considered the Strongest.

Whatever you do please, don't judge a book by its cover.

Yuuji is someone who I could call my best friend and comrade. Sure, he can be a bit stubborn at times, and he can make a fool of himself, but he means the best in everything he does. If you had been stupid enough to consume the cursed object containing his soul, in which I congratulate you for being just as dull as him, then know that you are in safe hands. He'll protect you and your friends, even if they don't trust him more than you do. If he truly meant harm, then your world would've fallen quickly.

He's a giving you a chance that he didn't have himself, so don't waste or neglect it.

I trust in your ambition. Good luck.
